  1. Feeling free and like I can do what I want when I want. Kitchen fitter finished just after 3. Has a little job to do which he's coming back for Friday. So whizzed off to see Dad. Tomorrow can clean me noo kitchen and put things in there slowly. Got new pans and baking stuff today. Dinner set will have to wait. Chap is coming to put in new boiler on Friday but we've got an electric fire so we're ok. Ouch Alex. Glad you've had a pleasant day Snow And you've got rid of some stuff Murtle. Makes you feel better Scoobs loves peas of all things and Marrowfat are yummy.
  2. Afternoon Have been to post office and ASDA for some bits for my dad and for ze new kitchen. All the doors are on the cupboards now. He's just got some last pontification to do. It's looking good but won't be right until we've sorted walls and floor. Haven't had chance to look at tiles for those yet. We have black cooker, hood and sink. Brown with a bit of black fleck worktops and cream cupboards. Not sure which colour to go with for the wall tiles. Martyn fancies black tiles at the back of the cooker and different on the rest. I'm sort of poo pooing that idea. It's really warm out. Came as a shock when I went out as it's been literally freezing here the last few days with hailstorms and wind. Hope to get into garden as the grass has suddenly gone knee high. Not sure when I'll get to see my dad and haven't phoned him yet as still hoping we'll be able to get away somehow today to see him.
  3. Evernink Murtle do as your body says and have lots of rest. Loving your artistery Marion lol Griff so sorry your cousin has been shot. Hope he recovers well. Shocking. Owl glad you've got mum sorted with social worker. The system is a nightmare. Jazz I'm sorry to hear that. Hope they find the cause quickly and get you sorted. Also hope you get the bungalow you want Tomorrow will be day 6 of fitting the kitchen. Had enough now. The chap has taken over the whole downstairs with all his stuff. He is so meticulous and pedantic about getting everything perfect. I'll be really pleased with it when he finished and that he has taken the time to get it right but it's getting on me wick. He's wary of the dogs so we keep all ending up being shut in a room together. He reckons he won't finish it til Sunday. Bang goes my weekend. To top it all the boiler got condemned along the way and we're not getting another til Friday. Right in the lovely cold spell. Guess when he's doing that and taking 2 days? Yep next weekend.
  4. Jed is lovely. Hope your arm heals very quickly. Unfortunately Fergus used to be bomb proof around dogs but thanks to Scoobs is now very unpredictable Silly Archie but not daft where the treats are concerned Murtle belated Happy Birthday. Hope you had a lovely day. Sorry the OU event turned out to be rubbish Keep thinking of you Houndwoman. Having a thorough clear out and clean up of utility room as kitchen is moving into there today. Once done that have to have a final clean of kitchen. Martyn's got the tiles off the walls and some from the floor. Can't say I'm relishing the thought of the next few days but it's got to be done.
  5. Afternoon. Got off early and now home til Thursday due to noo kitchen being fitted. That's going to be fun with the dogs next week. So sorry to hear much loved pets have passed on. Huge hugs to you all. Owl hope mum is happy in the care home and agrees it's a good idea. Well done Murtle on dance award. Yantan you do make me larf and really you should write a book. Have passed horrible exam and can't tell you how relieved I am. That's the end of the accounts so I'm fully fledged officially now. Just have to decide whether to do 1 more subject or not then that will be the end of it.
  6. Evening Weather has changed so much in the space of a couple of days. Wind and lashing down with rain. Sheila take care of yourself and hope the bruising goes down quickly Sam welcome back home to Sri L. Glad you had a fab holiday. Hope you have a bumper income for Dogstar. Don't know who Shara is but Scoobs went off his back legs months before he finally did. We put him on Denes Greenleaf tablets and it got him going again. We have used these harnesses on him and have found them a godsend. You can get them for hind or front legs. http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product_group.asp?dept_id=112&pg_id=296 It really depends on the individual animal when to give in and call it a day. Scoobs is no longer using his back legs at all but is still living life to the full and has made it perfectly plain since the first noticeable evidence of problems he didn't want to go anywhere thank you very much. When it is time to let Shara go you will know. Thinking of you and hoping for all the very best Jazz so pleased to hear you are being refunded and hope they get their act together. So sorry Whizzie. So difficult to deal with.
  7. Hope things settle down Owl I'm so sorry Sophie What a shame the camping was cancelled. Hope they manage to get away in a couple of weeks. Good luck with the run Murtle and hope the family visit goes smoothly. Lots of gardening to do today. So lovely to be outdoors again.
  8. That's funny cos my spies say there is something very similar to one of those in your garden missus What a fab pic Beautiful day here. So good to see the sun again. Have managed to get washing on line for the first time this year. Fergus is in and out of the garden like an in and out thing. Going out there shortly to have a good sort out so he'll be pleased. Finally got rid of horrible exam late last night. Was so good to see the back of that. They reckon I'll have my result around 3rd June so I get a whole month off from studying.
  9. Evening We have had some sun today. Long may it continue. Amy congrats on the house. Jazz hope inspection going well means meeting has too and you'll soon be in a home you like Griff ring GP first thing in the morning and chase them for your results. You're not well and they need to get you sorted. Murtle sorry you have bronchitis. Hope you can get shot of it quickly. Take things easy I'm in the middle of another exam. I've really had enough of all of this now and feel worn out. Have promised myself a few weeks break after this one to recharge. I've decided I'm only doing one more subject and that's it
  10. Ha ha. I don't think you've got enough planters there Alex. Lovely pics Marion you do make me chuckle Hope Murtle & Sam can get some stuff from chemist and feel better quickly I've had my hair chopped off. Which is funny in a way cos I'm about to grow it and have it like a choppy scruffy bob thing. One side was very short over the ear while the other was longer so she's left the latter alone to start evening it out. I'm going red again tomorrow.
  11. Oh no have you got any First Defence. I find that helps even after a cold has come out. I like Imprezas and blue is the colour Glad it went ok at your old place Alex
  12. Hope the ginger has helped Griff. If you're no better tomorrow ring the docs. I would steer clear of Mr G if you think he is involved with someone. You're worth more than that and someone out there will appreciate it. The more you get out and feel confident in yourself the sooner you will meet others. I bet you it will be when you least expect it and aren't thinking of it.
  13. Told you so Alex. Now get believing in yourself missus. You are an asset to that company and they know it. Hope the physios have been to see your mum but have been there so many times with false promises Owl. Have you spoken to your MP Jazz? Not getting chicken pox or something are you Gooster?
  14. Evernink. Have been to see Dad in his new home. It's far better than the last one and he's settling in there. He is getting kitted out with Sky, broadband and a phone as he thinks it will be a long time if ever that he gets to move into the rehabilitation centre. Staff are lovely there and it made a change hearing lots of chattering in the background from the inmates as well as staff. Glad your aunt is back home Owl. We've encountered similar things countless times with my dad's care. When he had his first move after his operation the ward didn't know he couldn't move his arms and legs and were just leaving food and drink infront of him. He could barely move anything at that stage. It doesn't bear thinking what patients without family endure. Sorry about your friend Alex. Horrible shock for his family
  15. Now listen here Alex. Your work colleagues are well chuffed with you and you will breeze through your appraisal. Have a good weekend So pleased your mil is now more mobile Snow. She must be so relieved. Fence and gate need replacing. Fencing smashed to bits in places. Have found a chap to do it. Oven chips sound lovely. Have a fab holiday Sam.
  16. Glad your dad enjoyed his birthday Whizzie. He's the same age as mine. A few of you have had me chuckling. Hope the hands are feeling better tomorrow Suzeanna. It's good to be different. Bargain Alex. Hope Laney's lump is nothing to worry about and soon sorted Fingers crossed it went better than you think Jazz. Well wind had a lovely time here last night. We've lost a whole load of fencing and a back gate. Thankfully not in the part that the dogs go in but needs sorting all the same. Gone right down the side and round to the door at the front. Could have been worse though considering we're surrounded by a lot of trees.
  17. Murtle if you don't fancy it don't go. Never do anything you don't want to. Sophie loving the colour of your hair. it's ace being red. I really liked it. Doesn't last as long as the blondie ones unfortunately. Mine might stand a chance lasting longer if I didn't wash it every day. Happy Gotchas, Birthdays to your lot. Hope the tests confirm virus and your mil is rid of it soon Snow. Good luck with the medical Jazz Nowt much to report here, apart from by eck is it windy!
  18. My weight gain is due to an underactive thyroid which my gp is refusing to treat. I'm about to redo my red hair. I have Berry red by Loreal and love it. Only prob is it washes out very quickly. Which one is yours Sophie? I haven't the guts to do a two tone Griff. How are you now?
  19. Afternoon Arrived home to a right muddle in the living room care of Scoobs so have been bisselling ze carpets. Beautiful day. If it wasn't windy it would be quite a scorcher. Have finally got around to sorting out a new kitchen. Old one is 30 odd years old so has done well. I have to say so far (touch wood) I am very pleased with the service and organisation of Homebase. Have been doing loads of studying and have another exam looming large. This one will be online at home so I feel calmer about it already. The journey normally gets me into a bit of a tizz which doesn't help Jayne you're looking great. I can't stop piling weight on and it's getting me down. Marion hope you're ok now.
  20. Crikey hope whoever was in car is ok Georgina Sorry you're suffering Yantan. Was the headache the sign of impending doom of period then? Bad periods are awful hugs. Beautiful day although an icy start. Have finally put a deposit down on a kitchen, dogs sorted and now popping out into the garden. Keep finding dead frogs out there. This winter has taken a toll.
  21. Afternoon on what is a beautiful sunny day here. Hope you're right about the last of the frost Alex as am going to venture into garden and do some cutting back tomorrow. Have put it off because of the icy mornings we've been having. Hope Beau's chest is something and nothing Sorry Rosie has a heart murmur. Hope it's a slight one in which case she'll be fine. Hugs Sorry MIL isn't doing well Snow. Owl hope mum is having a calmer day today, hope auntie is going to be ok, and van is back on the road with minor cost. Enjoy time with your visitor Marion
  22. Hope they get it sorted for you Jazz Really hope your mum shows signs of improvement and they get to the bottom of what is physically wrong with her. Thinking of you both. Hope auntie is doing well too Griff absolutely thrilled and long may it continue. Hope your symptoms improve.
  23. Oh heck hope she's ok after a bit of a rest
