  1. Awww Lesley, you were luffly on the telly  :flowers:.

Nah they just did a good edit. I can confirm that no Dyfed Powys police were harmed in the making of the programme.

Im filming again tommorow on another one. Im making nettle pasta amongst other things.

Im sooooo very tired I may not wake up in time so anyone who lives at my house or knows my number.I would be grateful for a 7am wake up call.

  2. :GroupHug: for Nigel and Cliffy.

Glad the job is great, Sam.

    Glen, what an expression

I have just watched that BBC3 programme in iPlayer. Lesley, you did look very nice. Please to see 3-legged George had a walk-on role, bless him. It was a bit strange to see my former bed on TV.

Yes with a strange bloke in it too.

I could see Amelia looking at George behind her and just looking for an excuse to bugger off.

  3. hi all, :GroupHug: :GroupHug: to all that need them right now.

Heart goes out to the peoples of Japan caught up in the terrible events of the last few days.

Dont want to moan or go on about things but it's been pretty cr@ppy lately, losing my Archie then Tessie in quick succession really took it out of me.

Last week would have been my 2nd wedding anniversary, and this week it will have been 2 years since I lost Lisa. If there is any light at the end of the tunnel it's still appears to be a dot.

Im so sorry Nigel. I didnt know you lost Tessie too. Life is very unfair and you have a right to curse it.

  4. I have a dilema ... what would you do?

My eye wont be fully healed for another 3 weeks, but I only need to be a bit extra careful for 1 more week after which the incision should be all healed up and nasty germy bug things won't be able to get in. Nowhere on the aftercare sheet I was given does it say about avoiding people with the lurgy (colds flu etc.) however I must still use antibiotic eye drops 4 times a day for another 3 weeks and I am supposed to avoid various other things for 1 more week e.g heavy lifting, germs and bacteria etc. (steam, tap water, sprays of any kind, dust, grit etc.). If I dont work I dont earn ... but I can do some work from home though it wouldn't make up for a full weeks pay... however I have 4 weeks pay saved in an emergency fund to cover any time off I take - I have not needed to dip into this at all yet but once I start dipping into it then obviously it reduces my safety net for a time I might need it if I'm ill or if anything goes wrong with my eye.

My workplace is someones home there are 3 young children (all under 8) a baby and 2 adults in residence - the baby has had an ongoing bronchial infection for several weeks and is in and out of hospital with his chest, without exception any day I am at work I will be asked to hold the baby (and he is fecking heavy!) for anything from 20 mins to over an hour at a time - 2 days before my op I was handed the baby and then told he had conjunctivitis (I was NOT impressed). Its rare that a week passes without 1 of the children being off school with some kind of lurgy. From reading work emails from last week it seems my boss has had a very nasty cold & chesty cough, as recent as yesterday he was saying he was still taking lemsip and his cough was bad. It's his pc that I use to do my work in the office - so its undoubtedly been coughed & sneezed all over this past week.

I am NOT ill - I am perfectly healthy and my eyes are both working fine now & I am more than capable of doing my job - the question is do I play safe and stay home another week ( a week for me is 3 days mon-wed) and do some work from home, or do I go into the office? (Bear in mind I have already been off work a full week this would make it 2 weeks).

    Stay home buy chocolates

  5. Restless sleep dreaming of what could go wrong at Crufts on Saturday  Suppose its good Im getting it out of the way early.

I didnt think I could feel anymore wretched but I have suprised myself  I think work should pay for me to have 2 weeks somewhere hot and sunny to recover from what they put me through

I expect everyone is equally as worried about Crufts. My sister is there on Saturday too with her unruly whippet. You will hear her bellowing CRUMPET !!!! at some point no doubt. She is nervous too.

Dibs is up there now feverously signing her new book alongside Marc "Babe"braham.

She also does Crufts radio but thank god they dont let her play take that on there !

  6. I don't know if anyone remembers me saying about my cousin Julian who died of cancer about 18 months ago - well his wife who he married a few months before he died is pregnant with his child (they had his sperm frozen when he started his chemo). I don't know whether to feel sad or happy, probably a bit of both.

Its very bitter sweet but for his wife she has part of the past forever and part of the future to look forward to

  7. morning all

can I have a few prayers please?

one of the cavailiers im fostering was taken to the vets last night with pyometra. I noticed it at the start of it which is a blessing. Poppy is 10, very overweight and pants just getting to the back door. shes on a drip and will be spayed today. £500 it will cost  ill be sitting waiting for the phone to ring

    thank you :flowers:

I have a brilliant home looking for a Cav with a thumb print

  8. I just knew someone would rain on my parade today. Just had a parking ticket from McDonalds, for outstaying my welcome in their car park by 26 minutes

I've rung them and will be writing to complain and attaching a copy of my receipt for one of their over-priced coffees. Flipping money grabbing, planet wrecking bandits.

Id write them up a bill for Crap burgers then

  9. I have indeed gone for the skull and crossbones - when hubby got home he said "wait there" then he rushed off and started going through Nogs toy box, then he handed me a big white furry cat toy and said now say...." No Mr Bond I expect you to die!" then he had a fit of the giggles

    Rethpect

  10. Don't forget to watch the new series 'Living with Women' on BBC3 at 9pm tonight :flowers:

Gurtrude Jeep is having a transplant tommorrow. Good wishes for her please Plumbing problem (she doesnt like it mentioned ) but she is having a new fuel pump. Gurtrude green jeep keeps my grandaughter safe when Rosy red car is in the doctors you know

  11. Eye patch has arrived so I'm currently wearing it to try and get used to it and to see if my cunning plan works. So far so good I'm able to read my kindle if I make the text slightly bigger, I've been on face-book and managed to read a few things and click where I needed to click, and I've read a couple of threads here and it seems am able to use the keyboard, admittedly I'm making a few mistakes but I can correct those as I go along. Not sure I'll be able to be on the pc for as long as I usually am or would like, will have to see after my op how things go, but hopefully I can pop on and off during the day and evening for a few mins each time and thus avoid turning into a bored frustrated homicidal maniac

Im so proud you are wearing Trallwm Farms coat of arms on your eyepatch if you are still going for the Skull and Crossbones

  12. well, the 1st of march and ive just had bad news at the doctors.

    ive got chronic liver disease

    got to have biopsies etc

so if anyone remarks that they think im making up my illness, please tell them id love to be, but its very real :mecry:

There are those that do but you are constant and so it becomes clear that you are indeed ill. People who make it up forget about it when something better comes along but you have to stop doing things you enjoy because of it. I dont suppose for a minute anyone here thought you were anything other than you said. It must be a very worrying and shocking diagnosis for you. :GroupHug:

  13. Welcome home

Problem with these horses is that there are so many amd no one has the resources. Sadly if they were like Spindles farm then everyone would pitch in cos its a good fundraiser !

If WHW takes them at their cost it could be that a court gives them back.

Its a nightmare and a growing one

  14. Anyone want to come play with 70 plus traveller ponies that are currently on the rampage round here? *sigh*

2 hours spent herding 2 away from main roads and back to near where they came from and the police finally sent 2 'police woman' to come *help*, bit bleedin late!......

And all the mares are due to drop foals soon!..... oh the joys!

Ah yes,we wondered where he had moved them to

They started off in Llanelli untill the 11th hour when he moved them. When the council plane to seize them they wil magically dissapear. Probably back to Llanelli.

    The owner lives near Bridgend.

  15. Am totally zonked with cold. I need to go to bed but am coughing so much and oozing everywhere that I know sleep will be hard to find... Oh well, at least it's only a bug.

My Grandaughters have the same snots. Its not pleasant. The baby is so fluidy and phlegmy you could stick her on a window like a loach. The elder

Roxy loves chickens so despite being unwell I took her to meet the new ones. She got to five and stopped counting.she was giggling away at this sea of birds and then gleefully collected two eggs from under a chicken for tommorows breakfast, The joys of being 2 3/4s
