  1. have a great time all these holibob people xxxx

trudy wont stop scratching her ears, so ive just filled them with cream. shes not impressed, but not scratching lol

Visions of low fat squirty and a dog shaped like a cream horn

I admire anyone with a tidy lovely garden. Here a cow would walk down it within minutes or a cat would be shoveling through the gravel wanting a pee

  2. We occasionally get a rag and bone man down our street, he's got a loudspeaker that plays "Any Old Iron" very loudly! I remember when I was about eight and living with my auntie in Hull (my dad had died the year before and Mum was in a sanitorium for two years with TB), aunt was shopping and I heard the rag and bone man...that one gave away goldfish. I pushed all her clothes I could find into a bag and ran out, gave him the bag and got my goldfish. Sadly for me, she came home whilst he was still down the street, went ballistic and went and got her things back, so my goldfish was returned to sender!

What an amazing story. What a brave and resiliant child you must have been.

  3. Morning :tired: I actually had a decent-ish night's sleep - only woke up a couple of times for wees.

Lesley - hope you managed to get back to sleep Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif

Have fun in NY those who are going flowers.gif

RMF : I stood in dog poo in the living room this morning (bare feet) and then in cat pee in the kitchen mad.gif

    I did eventually thank you

We are doing quite a lot of puppy poo bob sleigh at the moment.

Bless their little cottons. They just love people and every time we look over the stable door into the kitchen there are two happy faces and two furiously beating tails. These are both going to be wonderful pets now they have a future.

  4. Does anyone remember Roger the unexpected dog I got landed with, tan & white boxer/staffy/lab boy? Fionna offered him a place, much to my relief. He is a fun guy but not my type of dog. I have just been talking to Fionna and asked about him, and he went to a fantastic home with boxer experience where he is very happy and dearly loved.

I was thinking of going to Wales tomorrow but Friday will work out better. Will be nice to visit but not looking forward to drive. Have to do big sort out of my remaining belongings which are in storage and arrange for them to be brought here.

I could have done with you tommorow Pheebs.

Ive got 400 chickens to unpack

  5. Its a very comforting feeling when they come home.

I had a horse in my wardrobe for 3 years. Now my daughter has him in her house.

Wilber was a horse that needed a lot of love and care, when he went we didnt know wht to do with ourselves but when he came home he was in his rightful place again.

Im glad Archie is home with you again :GroupHug:

  6. Mommybear

Hope your move is going well :flowers:

    JulesB

Congratulations on the new arrival looking forward to Pics

Glad to hear she's gorgeous and she's been no bother at all

    Trallwm farm

Well done Lesley on the Impulse rescue, I bet they are so cute

They are very happily playing in the ash next to the rayburn with a Deerhound cross who is the spitting image of Alex the merecat

Dibs took a photo so will ask her to put one on here.

  7. Congrats JulesB on new arrival.

Well done Lesley! Sometimes being a pain in the backside pays off  And now you have the delight of 3 smelly noisy pups getting into everything. What is happening to their mum?

Good luck with moving, Mommy Bear.

I hadnt actually thought of the end result I was so focused on the battering they got. In the end all sorts of people you wouldnt expect to care were dissing them.

Impulse rescue you see,now Ive got 3 horrible lurchers.Oh well Dibs is away so her beds empty !

Im actually hoping Fionna can collect them because Im so absolutely exhausted I feel ill and I have people coming this morning.

Looks like the start of a good week on the Refuge with some good things happening and the sun shining. I know it doesnt take the sting out of last week which was hard for lots of people but at least we are given a little leeway this week,

  8. Last post before sleep.

just to say Ive been "negotiating" alongside Eileen Jones with the people who put the pups up for sale since 8.30pm

I think they looked me up cos they have finally given in and I collect the three remaining pups tommorow.

I dont think they wanted me squatting in thier house nor starting threads about them any more.

  9. Cliffy & Tessie are asleep downstairs, I miss my boy not being laid out on the bed already hogging most of it, which was some accomplishment for a small dog..

Cliffy has been snuggling me most of the day, and Tessie for most of the evening, she has taken Archies place on the couch but snuggled me her way not his.

    Missing my little bear dreadfully

    night everyone

    Nite Nite Nigel

We all know what you mean. Everyone of us has the same thoughts and someone at the bridge. Ive even got a pet bull at the bridge I miss. Now he WOULD hog the bed if I let him upstairs

They such a huge whole behind dont they.

  10. Vey sad news re puppies, Anyone who follows us on Facebook knows how a great group of people managed to shut down a meeting place for BYB,

Sadly the same Scumbag set up another one for "rehoming" animals. When an advert for free puppies goes on he deletes it quick and goes round to collect the poor pups. Within an hour of him grabbing these they were on Gumtree and his facebook page for £80 each.

So even though rescue space was found and a good future within their grasp it was snatched away.

If you look on Swansea Gumtree for the lurcher pups and then google the phone number it comes up with a list of puppies he has had in the last year. Ive complained to Gumtree so if the ads gone I will happily forward hard evidence to anyone who wants to help stop him.

  11. This is going to sound crazy but.....

I took Cliffy & Tessie out the back for a wee about half an hour ago, just before I fed them. Lot of cloud out blocking most of the stars, but as I looked up at the moon a large piece of cloud broke away, and it looked just like Archie with his face all fluffy and in need of a brush, I saw his eyes, nose, head shape and even the fur all stuck up and looking like the little bear he was, looking right down on me.

I felt really happy and said hello I love you bear, and right now the tears are back.

this is what i saw (head only) but from the right hand side not the left

    Dogpics2007173.jpg

Well he was a very special little dog wasnt he so who knows.

  12. Ive been bullied into holding two smelly lurcher puppies until there is space for them and their mum at Fi's

Mum is a wheaten terrier cross collie and dad is a Greyhound.

The only saving grace of course is that they will be scruffy.

I cannot imagine starting again with two 8 week old puppies.

With Bojangles there was play school,Eton, etiquette lessons, possibly university.

Luckily he never wanted piano lessons

but hey I guess there may be someone out there who may want a smelly puppy. There are 4 to choose from plus their little mum who is only two years old.

  13. Am doing ok, have spent the evening snuggled up to Cliffy and Tessie, a few tears now it's bedtime and Archie snuggle monkey isn't on my bed hogging it all :(

You should give yourself a big pat on the back. You have been amazing over the last 2 years with everything going on. Its going to take time to not feel quite so very sad but you gave a wonderful gift of a very happy life to everyone and you should feel very proud.

  14. Lots of  for Snow, Nigel, Owl & Mummy Owl, Griff and anyone my brain has forgot

Sight and hearing are very precious so do what you are told to preserve them as long as possible - Owl you can tell your mum from me that being blind when you used to have sight is not fun and she will be most miserable especially if it was preventable :flowers:

I have worked 4 full days this week - I never thought I would be able to do full time again and am most chuffed to say that it has been fab and I have had no major problems

You inspire me Trudi to get off my ass.
