  1. Thats the first time i've 'said' it. i've managed to only tell one or two people who need to know - work etc and even then i've skirted around it until they've understood. i'm going to go calm myself down again as i'm very up and down at the mo (mostly down) but thanks so much for being here. I will be back soon xx

  2. thanks, i think its only really hit me the last few days. When i saw him today he looked really poorly and was telling me how he's organised a bed at a hospice and stuff. I want him to come here but he's a stubborn bugger and is hanging on to his independence and so far is staying at home.

its the hardest thing i've ever had to deal with :mecry:

  3. Hello San, Marion & Wenders :)

I'm sure i've missed loads and heavn't been around for ages, although its gone in the blink of an eye.

I left my last job in July last year and started my new job in August they cheekily expected me to do some work and i wasn't able to tit about of the web all day

Unfortunately in september my lovely dad was diagnosed with cancer and its been a whirr since then, i've thought of you all at different times but not felt strong enough to log on for more than a few minutes as to not mention it would've felt wrong/odd but i couldn't face posting it either. :mecry:

It looks like now we have only a few days left with him possibly a few weeks at best and to be honest i'm a bit lost as to what to do when i'm not with him.

God that was self indulgent, sorry guys just wanted to sort of explain where i've been and why i've (must have) missed important events in my fugees friends lives.

Its good to be back though

ETA Wenders the 8 cups of coffee will take care of the next 2 hours as you'll be running to the loo and back!

  4. Dylan has had 2 removed from the top of his muzzle. Both came up very quickly and bled often the first one was removed then 6 months or so later he had another grow about 2 inches from where the first had been and that was removed too.

Fingers crossed there have been no more, removing the second was a challenge as there's lvery little loose skin there.

  5. Ridgebacks an aggressive breed?? that's possibly the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard.

I suspect JemimaP will have a few words to say about this when she sees this thread :D

    Oh yes she does

Can i ask what you are basing this ridiculous generalisation on exactly? Its certainly not from any 'knowledge' of the breed.

Yes they were originally hunting and guarding dogs but if yoy are under the illusion a dog could hunt a lion through agression then you're wrong. Think cat taunting mouse, they cornered them (intwos and threes) and kept them at bay until the hunter arrived. Agression would of got them killed pretty instantly.

Yes they are big and boistrous and noisy when playing but that doesn't make them agressive. Since when has keeping a watchful eye over its family equate to resource guarding? Do you know anything about dogs? Never mind genetics?

  6. Hello - how is Khyra doing?

She's doing ok thanks Ange, although i think she's getting a bit annoyed at me following her everywhere. I got a filthy look when i went to find her in the garden this morning and she was trying to have a wee in private

    Results on friday

    Good luck Alex :flowers:

    :GroupHug: Kazz

RMF: Today is my last day at work until Tuesday. 4 day weekends rule

  7. My little man is unwell if anyone can spare some good thoughts. He was really lethargic this lunchtime and wouldn't eat so he had a good long sleep, woke up had an apple went to play in the garden and developed a raging temperature, went really shivery and just wanted to go to sleep. We've been to the docs who thinks its a viral infection but Ive to keep an eye on him overnight. He just wants to sleep bless him :mecry:

Hope Jack is feeling better soon :GroupHug:

    Yummeee no. 1 son

My lovely vet checked Khyra over and taken blodds to basically rule out everything that it could be and (if bloods clear) we treat it as epilepsy. He said taking blood was like 'a sausage down a tunnel'

  8. Just done my house insurance....how on earth can it range from £280 to £73 for a little terrace cottage!!!??? Needless to say I've gone for the £73!

Jacky have you signed up? If not go through Quidco, i got £80 cash back for taking out my insurance with Nationwide through them :)

  9. Thanks so much for the good thoughts guys :flowers:
