  1. Sorry the system isn't on your side Fran The bank went ok but I don't think we can raise the cash for solicitors plus we'd be borrowing from my Mother and my Sister just to raise the rest of the deposit and it would all depend on then buyer accepting our offer. I think we will have to put the idea on the shelf for a few years (null)
  2. lots of good thoughts for you and Cecil. Sorry I don't have any advice. (null)
  3. Hope Hubby gets a job soon Snow, and everything works out Oooo Alex, sounds like mucho fun I am going to the bank to ask about a mortgage. I was all for this idea last week but now I'm filled with worry if it all falls though, not that we will lose if it does, I just don't like uncertainty (null)
  4. Oh Michelle what a nicest piece of work she is before my mother became bed bond carers would come twice a day to help with things she needed. Dealing with bathroom needs isn't as bad as it sounds, it's not ideal but you both get used to it. I've done it with both my parents, carers tend to faff about because they have to follow health and safety laws which aren't always the easiest way to get things done. They have to work in pairs and can be less dignified than just yourself getting it done. I hope things get sorted out swiftly for you all, it can be a little daunting at first when all the equipment gets installed in the house but eventually it just becomes part of the decor. (null)
  5. Hello hope you feel better soon Marge It is HORRID outside! Two out three failed dog walks, Phoenix was the only one who didn't care! Ive made an executive decision to make today a sofa day : biggrin: (null)
  6. Morning Hope Lewis gets his stuff back. Gypsy very kindly chewed up my cash card last week so I jokingly said to my OH to leave her cash card so I can go buy some shoes to go out in tonight. . . and she did!! she never told me how much I could spend I'm very good at spending money especially when it's not mine I don't even want to go out, we're going to Manchester and I just know we will end up in the gay village I hate it, it's like a novelty to be "going to a gay bar with my gay friends" I clearly deserve some really pretty shoes if I'm going to spend the night somewhere I'd rather not be ^_^ (null)
  7. This weather is completely depressing, 10 day forecast says its here to stay I was looking for things to do over the summer, as if we do somehow manage to purchase a house (I personally think the bank will laugh us out the door) we won't be going to see my niece. Anyway I was looking at fun dog shows but they are all on Saturdays which OH works I remember when you could just show up at a dog show solo and you could guarantee to bump into a Fugee or two There's just nothing to do around here, unless you like sitting in bars and eating, there's only so many times you can go on the same walks, cinema and bowling!
  8. Sorry to hear about Dan hope your Aunt finds a rescue to foster. Owl, don't listen to them, too many know-it-alls running their mouths! Does anyone have any experience of buying a house privately? I've had a look online but it's all too confusing for my lil mind. (null)
  9. Congratulations to your Niece I've had to object to the social putting my Mother in a home previously, since she owns her home out right it would be a niece funding pot for them, it seems to be all they are interested in. For now they aren't bothering us but everytime she has a stay in hospital they are all over us. (null)
  10. Hope Bones is found soon. I cannot believe someone can be so heartless Michelle, hopefully the social services team in your area can help you out with any adaptions you need to make. I saw a clip this morning about the care home, I dread the social coming in here and dumping my Mother in a home because it goes on everywhere. I have friends that work in care homes and the horror stories they tell are just unbelievable. (null)
  11. Oh Michelle that is a pity, it's probably for the best that your Dad doesn't know until he has to if that is what your step mum is saying, I hope you get things sorted for him (null)
  12. snow Oh my Michele, your stepmum sounds like a right piece of work! Does he own his house because I don't see how she can refuse if he does! Work wasn't too bad but it dragged as it was so quite (null)
  13. She is gorjuss San Glad things are turning around for you Loobie I really don't want to go to work today, like really really really don't want to go. (null)
  14. oh my Owl what a day Morning I really don't want to get up and go to work, hay fever season has started early and I want to sulk in bed, with chocolate (null)
  15. Uncle Albert The right is out there for him, hope they find him soon. OH. My. Have you seen them puppy pictures? I love puppies (when they belong to someone else). I have locked myself away today to get some work done, with nurses, doctors, dogs, work and a creative blip, I have got so behind with everything. I need to get a move on as I have a stall at the beginning of next month, but I'm so easily distracted
  16. The sun is out I can finally get the washing done! I've run out of washing powder which means a trip to a supermarket on a Sunday (null)
  17. morning. I saw the sun for like an hour this morning it's gone now though. There is a pile of washing I've hidden in the pantry but it's still taunting me
  18. Celebrity Nog, will he be getting his own reality TV Show? It would be the only one worth watching Have fun in MM, I'm confused by the new app layout for this forum, I'm going to press things to see what happens . . .
  19. Lots of good thoughts for Rufus. So sorry about Toffee Mouse Today is rather boring, I've been cleaning as nurses are due round tomorrow to see my Mother, I have a mountain of washing but no means of drying it with this naff weather we're having I'm hoping for some sofa time later if I can find a space between the dog bums!
  20. Gypsy also has a habit of inhaling her food, I use a normal bowl and just turn it upside down in the dog bowl and Gyp has to eat around it.
  21. My word Snow, you really going through it loads of good thoughts for Nog Hope he's back to his normal self soon.
  22. Glad you finally got the call back Fran Hope the headache has buggered off Marion I can't image why anyone would want to go to the Trafford Centre, I went once to go to the Apple Store to get my IPod fixed, I had a meltdown just trying to navigate the roundabouts to get in the place, then deal with the car park, would have been easier just to buy a new one! The weather has been naff today so we did the wet dog walk and domestic duties early and spent the day playing video games, though I image I'll regret that tonight because we chose to play a horror game, more time spent passing the controller back and forth to see who's brave enough to play I'll be sleeping with my teddy tonight I think
  23. Very cunning Alex K9Fran, I don't have any advice but am hoping for brighter days ahead for you I am having a very early night Night all x
  24. Blimey, my Mother just told me a similar story from the late 80s as well. Still very confusing I just put all my winter clothes away
  25. Morning There is sludge falling from the sky and sticking to vertical surfaces as long as it stays off the ground. I thought people were joking when they said it was going to snow, beginning to think 2012 tales might be true I'm going to do lunch today with my friend, he said something cryptic on the way out of work and after enquiry he said "oh can't talk about here" so I'm gonna brave the weather to find out, bet it's nothing interesting
