  2. Thanks Michelle, I doubt whether they could have done anything other than recommend painkillers. The queasiness has gone now too.

Morning all, been awake for over an hour, Jack has been restless too, I think it's too muggy for him. I'm hungry now so am going to make a bacon roll and a cuppa. Jack's gone back to sleep! Lol

  3. Glad you have got the paperwork done Owl.

Fingers crossed for your job Alex and Michelle

Good luck with the assessment Mary

Good luck with the catering tin of coffee Jazz!

    I love cheeky dogs.

Well, I think I have a cracked or strained rib from my mammogram. It was quite painful at the time and I made myself hold my breath, just to get it over with quicker, but The machine definitely closed down on my upper ribcage, just under my shoulder. I really felt strange on Wednesday afternoon and yesterday, in quite some pain, though it is a lot better today. This didn't happen last time, I suppose it depends on the skill of the person using the equipment.

I decided to work from home in between visits too yesterday, so that helped, not being in the office.

  4. Serves them right Alex!

Home for a quick cuppa, then back out visiting, everything has gone nuts today

also took some painkillers as the procedure has pulled a muscle in my neck and shoulder. I would really like to have a nap, but that's not possible. Yawn.

    hope everyone is ok.

  5. One word......osuch! We certainly do Marion. I was chatting to the lady doing the x ray and she told me her last job was with Capita, processing congestion charges. Bit of a career change!

Glad it's over, waiting for results is the worst thing.

  6.

Good luck with the injection Marge :flowers:

Speaking of injections, colleague had to go and have a flap of skin remove at the doctors yesterday. It was on his eye, so he had to have a local anaesthetic into his eyelid :confused02:

RMF : Just been to Pizza Hut for lunch.

Thanks Alex, it was fine, I don't mind jabs. ;) Mmmm, I haven't been to Pizza hut for ages

I had a phone chat with my friend Mary, the lady in Wales who lost her husband and then her son and then got ovarian cancer. She has recovered and is completely clear of it. :)

Fantastic! It's such a horrible disease, I'm so pleased for her. :)

Archie has had to endure funder this afternoon and managed to get under my computer chair where he lay and shook. Poor boy. I have told him he has a treat coming tomorrow - his auntie Sheila is coming to take him for a nice walk. He loves auntie Sheila - this is Joss's mum by the way and Joss is doing great, continuing to loose weight slowly and steadily and he can happily undertake 3 hour walks most days and is running more and more :)

    Poor Archie. WTG Joss!

I have the lurgy and my eyes won't stop weeping at the moment.

Thanks ever so much for doing the humungous walk Marge & co and thanks ever so much to all of those who are/have donated to it. It really does help us such a lot.

Your welcome, I am looking forward to it. :)

Hope the lurgy and weepy eye depart soon!

    Eeeuw Alex!

Well, just after I posted here at lunchtime the sky went so dark, it was like night time. Next thing, bang crass wallop, huge hailstones, yes, the size of golf balls hammering down on the car. What a racket they made, I thought one was going to come through the windscreen. This was followed by a torrential downpour. Lot of roads had flooded, so it was a nerve racking drive to the other side of town.

  7. Quick lunch break then back to the fray!

Enjoy your four day weekend Alex :)

Good luck with the hip Jazz x

Thanks Marion, I know I should let it go by me, but it creeps up while I am asleep, then wakes me up ;(

I have been to the nurse to get a tetanus jab because of the cat getting me yesterday. I wouldn't normally bother, but the house was such a sh*thole, that I couldn't take the risk. I didn't know that it now comes with the vaccine for dyptheria and polio, so that's me sorted for now.

Right I'm off, back to the resident who moved yesterday to sort out his finances, utilities etc etc etc. I don't think it will be a successful afternoon.

  8. Actually, come to think of it, I have a manky body part where the cat scratched me. As it is mostly just above my booby area up to my neck, I will not be posting pics. :laughingsmiley:

It's nothing too drastic but looks quite good - shoulder - rotator cuff repair. A good dog related injury - Co and Flo pulled me over. It wasn't their fault, I'd just got them out of the car and next door let their puppy out, no collar or lead, and she ran past them. They lunged after her. Result, Spins4me crashing to the ground and landing on the right shoulder. Had it fixed last week. It's technicolour.

Thanks Yantan. Just need to twiddle with it to get it on here - I may be some time.

    Ouch!

  9. Marge I will sponsor you later on if that's OK?

Thank you Marion, take your time, I'm not doing it till end of July and the justgiving page stays open for three months after the event. I love donkeys, I did sponsor one on the Isle of Wight, but sadly she died at a relatively young age of fourteen.

I've been having severe migraines and the just over a week ago ended up in hospital as it was so bad. I'm now on permanent medication Pizotifen but suffering side effects. Anyone have experience of it at all?

I don't have experience of Pizotifen, but hope you feel better soon. x

Alex, what a palaver with the insurance! I really don't like dealing with those companies.

Glad ~Ruby had a good training session, I hope she really enjoys the experience.

Thank you so much everyone, for giving to my challenge! I have not only hit, but exceeded my target! , can't wait to go and "do the deed " Now. :-)

    Overwhelmed by the support.

I have spent the day helping to move a vulnerable elderly alcoholic man move house. My boss has agreed a move on condition that he gets some regular help in to clean as his old flat was filled to the brim with bags and bags of lager cans, rubbish, a build up of dirt and grime, covering all surfaces, his kettle, cooker etc etc. Not to mention the rubbish just dropped and left on the floor. He does not remember anything that he discusses with you, is not on the phone and doesn't read his mail.

On arrival, nothing was packed, so the two men we hired set to work with the furniture, but it was so time consuming going through everything, as I wanted it to be his choice what he wanted to keep, or leave.

Lots of things went wrong throughout the day, and then I also had to get a contractor out to fix the handle on his back door. All the while Mr H must have been drinking his lager, so was in quite a bad mood by the end of it!

I have to go back tomorrow to get his utilities sorted and wait for some furniture we're getting from a house clearance, but blimey, what a long day. I need my tea, but need a shower first, only had a banana all day! And then his cat scratched my neck when he grabbed hold of me while I was trying to put him in the cat basket.

Now on to my RMF. I had a call from a publicity company working on behalf of the people running the Petchampions competition. They want to drum up some local interest with the local press and do a feature on Jack. I gave them some more background on him, but did tell them that he can't possibly win as the leaders have over a thousand votes! Didn't seem to put her off though. Right, I'm off to vote for him again, now that they have renewed my interest. LOL

Maybe it's just me, but watching the Queen having to shake hands with Martin McGuinness, the terrorist who led the IRA for years (who were responsible for the death of Phillip's uncle, Lord Mountbatten) just turns my stomach. Ever the consummate professional, she handled it very well, as she always does these situations. Can't have been easy for her.

I agree Alex, very hard indeed.

  10.

Archie must have known it was Cherry's Gotcha when he told me he was sending some of his biskwits for her and Jack to share. I didn't know though!

    Archie's timing was perfect! :cheer:

Thanks Everyone, I have just got home and only Jack is here, Cherry has gone for a trip to Portsmouth with Keith, so her Gotcha day dinner may have to be eaten on a different day :-)

  11. Husky has been caught and is not Bones *sigh*

    What a shame :(

    Moaning :tired:

    1. Marge and Jack and Cherry only need another £15 to reach their sponsored walk target in aid of Oldies Club. You can donate here :flowers:

    2. Dogstar (or should I say Donkeystar) have come across loads of wild donkeys in a pretty bad way and have launched an appeal to help them. You can donate here. :flowers:

    Shameless plug over.

Thank you so much Alex :)

I will go and check out the donkeys.

I have permission now to put up a thread for our walk, so have done so in fundraising. :)

  12. Jack and Cherry are taking along Keith and myself to complete a one day "life in the old dog yet" Challenge!

We will be hiking up (and down) the 914 ft Beacon Hill in Leicestershire, followed by a walk round Melton Country Park, on July 28th, to raise funds for the Oldies Club. Any donations gratefully recieved, and details can be found
