  1. Well Max is still looking for a home despite being a perfect dog. I had the pleasure of meeting this boy last weekend at a Kelpie training day. He is absolutely adorable and would fit quite nicely into pretty much any home. Despite being a young Kelpie he is very laid back and likes nothing more than curling up on a sofa and having cuddles. He does enjoy pleasing his foster carer so would be happy to do agility or some other kind of doggie sport but doesn't necessarily need a very active home and would be quite happy being a pet as long as he got lots of love. Oh did I mention he is GORGEOUS! ;)

  2. Max is in foster care in Birmingham he is a black and tan Kelpie x, Neutered and approx 18 months. Max is crate trained , travels well and is very friendly and playful . He has good recall off lead and gets on well with other dogs . Currently living with house cats . Has had basic training and been introduced to Agility equipment. If you interested in offering Max a forever home please contact Kelpie Welfare

  3. Thankyou . if you email me if you do that would be great , thanks

Think email add is above :)

PS you should run Kelpie Welfare :)

Thanks for the compliment Kev but the people who run KW so a fantastic job and I'm just try to help out whenever I can although I wish I could do more.

Where did Joe go in the end? Is he going to be a search and rescue dog?

  4. sorry about spelling and grammer, i was rushing and pressing the wrong buttons.

me and joe had a 1 to 1 with a dog trainer when we first got him, and he was really impressed how smart joe was and how calm he was. and he just so happens to be the guy who teaches the dogs for the mountain rescue in cumbria and flys all over the world to teach and advise people.

you have now given me the idea to have a word with him as he may know someone. but i will let you get intouch with that woman first though .

Yeah, definately go for it Kev :) It would be wonderful for Joe if he could do such a valuable job.

  5. Aww Joe  He reminds me so much of my Angel. Its so sad you're having to rehome him Kev as he sounds like the perfect dog especially with your son. Do you think he may like search and rescue work? A lady offered a home to another Kelpie a few months ago but the owner decided she was going to keep her in the end. I'm sure the lady who offered the home was from the Lake District too :o)

  6. I need to find rescue spaces for 2 greyhound boys.

The first one is Zak, a 2 year old black boy who has had an injury to a back leg and can't race any more. He is great with other greyhounds but barks at other breeds of dog. Zak is on the Wirral.

Then there is Daffy who is about 5 years old and is being retired due to his age, he is also microchipped. He is best suited to being with a greyhound bitch and is good with the owners children. Daffy is in the Chester area.

If any rescue can help with either of these dogs please pm me :)

  7. SCOOBY

Scooby Kelpie was found on the streets as a stray in 2009. The Rescue

Centre guestimated his age at approximately 12-18 months old. He was

rehomed to an elderly gentleman as a cross breed. Initially he was quiet

and reserved, but with good food and love has blossomed.

Scooby has grown into the active lively Kelpie he has always been. He is

well behaved, gets on well with people and dogs when out and about.

He can be left for short periods of time with no problems. He is still

entire, but has been fully vacinated.

Scooby has been with his owner for about 9 months, but due to the

gentlemans increasing poor health he realises that he is struggling to

give Scooby the exercise and stimulation that he needs. Scooby is much

loved, but the decision has been made to rehome him to a more active

lifestyle. Scooby will need an active household and I am sure he would

love to do a doggy sport such as Agility.

He is currently near Stoke on Trent, any prospective home will need a

home check or references. Contact Jay McCartan on 07762174799 or

    Email Kelpie Welfare

  8. Harvey is a 22 month Labrador X Kelpie, He is neutered and vaccinated. He was adopted from the RSPCA a

year ago by a young couple. However they have now have a baby and he is no longer wanted. He has been

signed over to Kelpie Welfare. He is currently near Manchester.

He has been to training sessions run by a ex Police dog handler twice weekly. He is enthusiastic and

focused .Being part Lab loves treats. He plays with toys/balls and loves a game of tuggy.

His heelwork on and off lead are excellent, he sits, downs and stays. His recall and retrieve are very fast. He

can do a ‘garden dog walk ‘long jump and single jump, but has been taught working trials style.

He is very friendly and greets people nicely and does not jump up .He greets dogs politely, but loves a good

wrestle with a willing participant. He is fairly high drive and needs a job, any doggy sport will suit. He will

need continuing firm consistent training. Contact Jay McCartan on 07762 174799 or email at

    [email protected]

Please contact Jay at Kelpie Welfare for further information about Harvey.
