  1. Thats what I thought too Alex however just checked and they are advertising it as 2 bedrooms 2 reception rooms and the the details say this:

I'm keeping my fingers crossed - its not quite where we would like to be but its a bungalow, it'll need a teeny bit of rejigging as whoever was there last was disabled so the drive has had a huge wheelchair ramp added so you can't park a car on it, plus the garage has been converted into an outside store, and the bathroom only has a disabled shower in it (might keep that). Nice garden - though needs tidying up and trees cutting back. If there is a usable 3rd room then it would be on my shortlist for sure.

It looks as if the loft extension has been made without Building Regulation approval.

It's possible to bring the construction up to the required standard after you've bought the property

  2. I bought a bonsai tree for a fiver from Morrisons the other day. I am trying to find out what sort it is. I have already repotted him into a bigger container cos he was pot bound.

Im sure its MEANT to be pot bound. Otherwise it will grow into a tree

Reminds me of when someone gave OH a bonsai for his birthday. OH hates bonsai trees and promptly liberated it so it could grow naturally. After that OH & I were called the Bonsai Liberation Front by our friends

  3. I was telling OH about this thread and he reminded me of when I was teaching in a special school and had a class of 7 year olds. As part of a theme about families we were discussing names and most of them didn't realise that their parents had a name other than "Mummy" or "Daddy".

One little boy was struggling with this so I asked him what his Mummy's name was, he answered, "Mummy."

So I said "Yes but Mummy has another name. You call her Mummy but what does Daddy call her?" He gave me a lovely smile and said, "Dulie" (Julie).

"Aha", I think, "I'm winning here."

So I asked, "And what's Daddy's name?. He answered "Daddy."

So I said, "Yes, but Daddy has another name. You call him Daddy but what does Mummy call him?" Again came the lovely smile, "Doopid prat," he said.

    It was an unforgettable moment!

I had something similar when I asked a child what her mummy's name was. She replied "Mummy". I said "What does Daddy call her". The answer was, "Sexy"

  6. Aw thanks for the piccies Marian.

That's a fab amount to have raised and we will get a lot of offers of help thanks to you all. Raising awareness is very important and a big help. Thanks ladies. :flowers:

Louise with Boots, Snoopy and her daughter's jrt Emma did a wonderful promo job for the OC. In the photos they've found a pair of jrt poopies and are telling them about the OC.

It was a very hot day. We could have raised a lot more money if we'd been selling icecream.

  7. That's just about what I paid each time for Spike, but I think the price went up after 10 or 11pm. he went there three night running and it mounted up quite quickly. Diddn't like the fact that every morning we had to take him from there to our normal vet as he didn't get any rest after having major surgery. I can't fault the vet who did the op, he did a fantastic job, pity he's not our vet.

Ours was a Christmas day appointment and we had to leave Sam the cat for surgery - he had a urinary tract blockage and had a catheter fitted. We had to pick him up at 7.30 a.m. to take him to our vets on the day after Boxing day. He spent 3 days at our vets for £100ish including antibiotics and medication for a heart murmur that our vet discovered but the bill for Vets Now was £700+. Catheterising isn't a very big op so I thought it was a bit steep. Vets Now didn't pick up the heart murmur either.
