  1. :DOooh secret telling time - I thought I was the only mad one

OH and I sit on the floor - Izzy has a whole couch to herself - Polly the armchair - Flynn and Hun on the other couch. I leave the tele on when I go out so the dogs can watch it

I take two drinks to bed - one has to be poured in a small dish in the bathroom so that Polly can have her good night drinky otherwise she wont settle.

We have recently decorated the lounge but left the old tv cabinet there so that Izzy can clang the door when she wants a biscuit, but she wont take it from you in the kitchen you have to follow her and hold it through the bannisters so that she can "collect" it on her way upstairs!!

The patio door is left open all day and most of the night so that the dogs can go in and out at will - and we leave the heating on so that the lounge and bedrooms are warm if they fall asleep in there.

Honey has a special baby wrap towel that she has to be wrapped in after a walk before she will get in the car and although she happily jumps in the car GOING for a walk she has to be lifted in (like Izzy) coming home.

We havent had a holiday for 8 years because Izzy doesnt travel well in the car - maximum is about 5 miles and I wont put her in kennels.

Polly has to sleep in between OH and myself - Flynn has to lie at the bottom, Izzy along the side and Hun in her basket in the corner but only once her duvet has been fluffed up.

None of the dogs will move until I get up in the morning - OH up at 4.30 - sons 5.30 and me at 6ish - even if they are called. They stay put but Iput one toe on the floor and they are all up

They all have spag bol if we are having it but Izzy doesnt like mushrooms so these have to be picked out.

  4. Im defintely going to order one of those magnet things - they sound pretty good even if it just helps me to lose weight. Typical I started WW in Jan and have so far managed to lose 12lbs but there it has stayed for the last 3 weeks, no matter what I do or eat - sticking religously to the diet or cheating for a couple of days.

I dont really want to go down the HRT route as my Mum did that and ended up with Breast Cancer and was still taking HRT when she died at 66.

My temper is outragous at times and I have done and said things that I wouldnt normally do - including road rage :(

I knew that I couldnt have faced the woman who owned those two strays as I would have been writing this message from a prison cell = normally I would be able to out talk someone but at present my anger just takes over to the point where I can think clear enough to speak

Ill keep on with the Primrose Oil and let you know how I get on with the magnet thingy.

Thanks for all your help - :GroupHug:

  5. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

    :GroupHug:

  6. For the past few months I have been politely advised that I seem to be experiencing symptoms of PMT  and I suppose deep down I knew that I was getting a little bad tempered occasionally  but taking the family's word for it   decided to try Evening Primrose oil - which I have religously since my last period.

I have still been a little "testy" shall I say but I have also got quite a bit of stress going on here at present - mostly to do with FIL's estate - MIL announcing her forthcoming marriage to the dog hater plus other things - but usually I cope with these sort of things.

Well anyway I havent had another period - Im now 3 weeks overdue. I had all the sypmtoms headache - backache - slightly grumpy  water retention but no show. I have a constant dull ache in the normal place and I am increasingly hungry and craving carbo's (not been a choccie person) but nothing is happenning. Now before we wll start knitting - I was sterlised (tubes clamped) 9 years ago - so I cant be preggers and I have always had periods on a regular 31 day cycle - could this be the menopause - I am 47 but have no other symptoms???

My last smear test - done November 08 was fine - any other ideas????

  7. She paid the bill :mecry: :mecry: :mecry:

She even had the cheek to comment that there were lots of staffy's in the pound and that one of them looked as if it could have been one of her older pups!!! She was told that idiots like her are breeding indiscriminately but she just shrugged :(

The DW and council have them on their register now and if found again will be turning a blind eye - and the RSPCA inspector (who is actually a star) will be paying her a visit.

I know where she lives and I will drive past everyday.. Im absolutely gutted. :mecry:

How on earth do you fosterers do your job -

  8. Having had an explosive and vile conversation with the owner - her name is Donna - and the fact that she didnt think it was any of my f****** business whether she reported her dogs 5 days after they went missing - or the fact that this is the second time that the mother has got out (the puppy apparently isnt the same one that escaped at Xmas) and that the pound knew these dogs were hers from the previous time and why didnt they contact her blah blah blah AND she called me c*** I spoke to the RSPCA officer for this area and their home co-ordinator and the DW and we have taken the dogs to the pound where she has a bill waiting for her for just under £400 - which includes the council fee - boarding (with me) frontline and worming treatments.

DW will not let these poor babies go until the fee is paid in full - and her time is running out. If she hasnt paid by Monday the mum will be speyed and if poss pup too (I dont know whether it can be done really) and put up for re homing probably out of the area - I literally only live 5 mins walk from her house and because of Izzy we are quite well known and would prbably be more well known walking 6 dogs.

If the plan fails the RSPCA inspector is going to keep an eye on her

Im taking my dogs up the field now for a long walk :mecry: :mecry: :mecry:

  9. Shes phoned - apparently she left a message with the DW office on Wed saying that she was reporting them missing from Wed morning - well I have had them here since Saturday.

I am going to ring her now and see what she says to me.

DW has informed RSPCA regarding their welfare and asked that they be kept an eye on.

What else can I do??? :mecry: :mecry:

  10. Im thinking of setting myself up as a boarding kennels for the month and say charge dog stays at what £100 per day - so thats 2 dogs for 7 days so far - perhaps Ill give her a bill for £1400 she if she wants them back then

  11. They are more than welcome to stay - 2 more dogs isnt going to make that much difference. Unfortunately their owner has been known to turn them out when she goes away and then claim them a week later from the pound It is obviously a lot cheaper than boarding fees. :( I can legally claim them next Thursday but I have this horrible feeling that she will be back on Sat and I may have to hand them back :mecry:

The mum is only 18 months old and has had 2 litters already  so Im assuming she is being used as a breeding bitch and the pup is probably being lined up for the same.

Unfortunately this person only lives 5 mins away so I cant even hide them as we are bound to be seen out.

They both had the most wonderful natures - are excellent with my 4 cats - even poor Holly who is very poorly. They ignore the rabbit and chinnie and are super friendly with the children next door.

I can only wait it out

  12. I lost the plot with our local hospital ovr Fil's care. In the week that he died he had been left to feed himself a sandwich - with hands that were covered in poo :mecry: He was dying from brain cancer and very confused but had been left in a side ward with no help - he fell out of bed twice trying to get to the toilet - 3 days later he died :mecry: :mecry: :mecry:

Most of the time the nurses were at their station chatting :(

  13. Here are the two stray staffies we found last Saturday.

As you can see they are beautiful and have made themselves well at home

    How cute is the pup

  14. Successful 24 hours with the two new arrivals - all slept soundly last night

I really need to know how much to feed a full grown staffy and desperately need to know how much to feed the pup. Im thinking she is about 3/4 months old. So far she has had some biscuit softened with gravy and cooked minced chicken with a spoonful of butchers tripe.

Pup pooed in the lounge over night and when hubby came down this morning was cowering and before he could clean it up she promptly ate it all. Im hoping that this isnt something they have been made to be afraid of - surely thats what wooden floors are for!!!

  15. I have 6 dogs here now - all so far getting along :D

We are postering today in the hope that we at least find out their fate.

    OH is smitten with them

I am keeping my distance - I dont know how you fosterers do your job :mecry:

  16. Will the breeder not take them back temporarily to give them more time??

    Where are you??

    Try

    Holly trees

Ray Dedicote. He rarely refuses dogs there. He neuters too and offers back up for the rest of their lives. If you contact him say Kazz from Redditch (GSD) lady recommended him to you.

Kazz Im in Essex = Ill give Mutts a ring in the morning but I would really like to try and find their real home first. Although saying that if my dogs were lost I would have at the very least registered them on doglost.

  17. Neither dogs are listedon Dogs lost but more input wont go amiss. OH is already saying well 2 more dogs wont make much difference really

Pup is a little girlie and I would have thought around 4/5 months old.

We've tried to upload pics from mobiles but have been using someone else's wireless connection and it wasnt strong enough. Daughter will upload some when her shift with the dogs finishes!!!

Ii willl not let these dogs go to the pound whatever happens :mecry:

  18. Ive done something a bit stupid - which is not really unusual for me :(

Middle son has rang me to say that he has found two stray staffs near the high st. I collected them - took them to vets for chip scan - which turned out positive - rang through the lady told us that the dog had been re homed back to the breeder. Vets have asked if I wanted to sign them over to the council. Already spoke to dog warden and "off the record" she knows I have them. Spoke to breeder who told me she had r homed them to a lady 10 miles away from here but no longer had her contact details.

So I have them at Dads empty house - daughter is with them - and Im stuck

Mother staff is a blue brindle 2 years old and has had a litter already. Pup with her is about 5 months old may be hers - acts as if it is - but is brown brindle. They ar both well looked after in superb condition, soooo friendly although pup is scared of th lead.

They can stay here the night OH is coming to take over from daughter and Ill get back on the case in the morning. Both local staffy rescues are full to bursting and the local pound already has 18 staffs.

Dont know what they arelike with cats so cant take them home whilst poor Holly is on her last legs.

    Any ideas????
