  1. Morning!! I think its a little warmer today because it's raining instead of snow or frosty blue skys! My garden seriously needs attention.....this time last year it was neat and tidy with lots of pots simmering full of seedlings...
  2. And he wore suits that always seemed too small and uncomfortable!!
  3. Looking out of my window the blue sky in Cumbria is marvellous against the snow capped Lake District mountains! I'm sure if that snow would melt then it would maybe a little warmer........or does it have to get warmer first....
  4. I agree it would need longer than a week - we could all do it if we knew it was just for week and we had money for the rest of the month to pay the bills. He made my blood boil, he really did. Come the revolution, comrades, come the revolution!
  5. For two days we have had beautiful blue sky - it's then such a shock to go outside and be soo coldddddddd.... Surely we'll have heat soon?? Back to work after the bank holiday - such a bind when there is so much I would rather be doing at home. I am busy knitting baby stuff and have started on the bridesmaid dresses (that's sewing not knitting - I did suggest knitted dresses but the answer was a firm no ) Jack and I now have a membership entry to Lowther Castle and Gardens near Penrith (Well, I have, as 'well behaved' dogs are free). The castle and gardens are being restored with Lottery money (and are registered as a charity) so the term 'Gardens' is quite loose as they are busy restoring them. It's lovely to amble through the woods (Jack has such a problem deciding which stick to bring home!) and stumble on to ruined summer houses and rockery gardens that are being uncovered. There are red squirrels, woodpeckers, a heronry and the occassional red deer to see along with some fantastic views across the Lowther valley toward Haweswater. We go on Sundays and something new is happening every week. However thanks to the weather 'Daffodil Weekend' has been postponed twice as the daffs are nowhere near ready - though the snowdrops are still in magnificent display! Happy Tuesday!
  6. Hi Yantan, I read lots . My lappy is past it's best and it's hard to get to the end of a comment without it deleting itself!! Seems to behaving just now tho - the blutac on the space bar seems to be working Griff - my Jack is scared of Buddy Cat but when other dogs come into the house he barks and barks and even tho he only has one sharpe tooth left he still seems scarey. I know he's all noise and no trousers but others aren't as convinced!
  7. Aw Griff, I wish I'd not followed that link - I want to give them all a home. My grumpy old man is too territorial tho......
  8. Owl, Don't just complain to the hospital - please make sure that your complaint goes to the PCT or CCG that commissions the hospital. The hospital will go through the motions that they have to by law to deal with your complaint but the PCT can initiate action and impose penalties which will ensure a complete review. My daughter was rushed to hospital a few weeks ago and stayed overnight. The treatment and conditions were terrible. Luckily she was ok and on discharge wrote a letter of concern to the hospital which we also copied to the PCT. Subsequently my daughter has attended meetings and has become very involved as she has acted as a catalyst for change. The PCT were not previously aware of problems as the hospital does not have to tell them. Her main concern was for the elderly and confused ladies in the ward who were treated appallingly. Hi to all, I am still a silent stalker - just not very good at getting round to posting! It doesn't help that the space bar on my laptop keeps falling off.... x

    What a smashing idea!!
  10. Oh Merle, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I have no magic words to help you but send huge hugs. God bless x
  11. Gooster, my baby girl applied for Take Me Out a couple of years ago and was successful. Then before the recording date she met someone who she thought may be special and was unsure what to do. As it happens she was also waiting for an op on her shoulder and that came through for the day she should have been travelling down for recording so she couldn't go!! Result - she marries ' may be special' - Mr Wright (honestly!) - and has his baby this year!! So it sorta worked for her but in an unexpected way!! Good luck!!
  12. My daffs aren't big enough yet either! And the ones in the front garden never will be if the neighbours don't stop putting their fat feet on them. I have procured some small trellis to discourage them! Baby girl is getting married in September and wants Sweetpeas. I can devote a corner of the garden to grow them and wondered if you all have any advice. I think September is the end of the season for them but my idea was to grow them through out the summer so that she can have sweet peas on the run up to the wedding. I usually buy them as seedling from the garden centre but if I plant seed can I grow them later?
  13. Awe, bless. So sad for you xx
  14. Aa far as Speidi go it was the biggest fix in the kingdom of Fixdom. Happy for Rylan though, but did expect Clair From Steps and Razor to be in the final three.
  15. Brilliant photo!! My staffy, JackDaniel, is scared of Buddy, my cat, and cries like a baby if Buddy dares to sit on the sofa because he daren't get on it at the same time!!
  16. Perhaps Speidi are just a business? Apparently they've married each other more than once and their whole lives are reality shows so is it possible they are just together for the money?? Wish Rylan hadn't allowed them to wind him up. Sam wasn't much of a conversationalist with Brian - but I did miss bitontheside (although I did manage to read my book until 1am!!)
  17. Sam hasn't had any airtime - it's all been Paula, Speidi and Rylan! I think Ryan will stay too. Didn't see Bit onthe Side - can't stay awake that long!!
  18. Oh buddyboy I'm pleased that everyone is ok. It's a by law round here that all dogs should be on a lead in a public place but it's amazing how many people ignore that. My Jack is a grumpy old staffy and is unhappy if any other dog gets in his face so he snarls and so do I if it happens. I tell people that he is on a lead and entitled to be nasty if other dogs invade his space. Back to work today. Bleurgh! I don't do the gym.
  19. Rylan is proving more entertaining than I expected him to be. He was so funny when Speidi were allowed upstairs! Methinks Paula Hamilton is aiming for an early bath on health grounds so that she can take the money and run. What happened to Toadie - I've not washed Aussie soaps since baby girl left home but he does seem a shadow of his former self. Shame clearing out the drains didn't earn him a place of luxury. Gillian Taylforth should've been sent downstairs in the first place!! I would've like to see Jim Davidson in the house. Franki D - obviously there for the money now that he has been banned from racing - stoopid boy! I don't think this lot will keep me as entertained as Julie and Julian last year but I'll pop in from time to time!!
  20. I have a lot to look forward to in 2013 with two grandchildren on the way and my daughter's wedding so I think the year will be taken up with planning and preparing! I would like to lose some of the 2 stone I have put on over the last four years but I'll not be too ambitious - maybe all the running around will help!! Whatever your plans I wish you all joy and happiness and good health for 2013. You are a lovely lot on here and I do enjoy reading the forum!! xx
  21. I salute you - and you made me cry xxx
  22. I am please that DVO didn't win - the competition should be about the most improved and she was jolly good to start with. I felt sorry for Bruce last night - he was obviously trying to keep things in order. He should have had more back up from the production team.
