  1. Hi Gilly

It was so brave of you to share your story about Spice. It sounds as though she had a marvellous, loving home with you and you took great care of her right to the end. It's such a hard time and hurts so much. You know you did the right thing for her but that doesn't really make it any easier. But remember that you gave her years of happy life which she might not have had if you hadn't happened to come along.

If you can, try to keep looking at the old dogs waiting for homes on the Oldies site. One day, one will really touch you and then you'll know you're ready to care for another dog.

I've not really got the hang of posting photos on here either - hopefully someone will help you out.

Take care and don't expect too much of yourself too soon. Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif

  2. Loads of good wishes to Mollydog from Bella and Josie - hope you'll be running around soon but not too soon. smile.gif We meant to send you love before you had your op but we were busy waving bye bye to foster sister Jessie - we do miss her. Kisses from B&Jwub.gif

  3. My new Oldies Club foster dog Jessie (see her in the Watch This Space section) won't have much room under her pillow tonight. She's just come back from an overnight stay in the veterinary hospital where they removed 18 of her teeth!! The tooth fairy is going to be very busy. Poor old Jessie, she's on liquid food for a week now and loads of antibiotics as there was a nasty infection there as well. She's only been with us for a couple of days and was in so much pain when she arrived but that wonderful goldie character is still shining through - never a complaint, just a waggy tail. Now the horrible teeth are gone and the arthritis is medicated - next week a lovely bath and groom and she'll be the belle of the ball. She deserves so much, she's absolutely adorable.

  4. The way I do it Di, is to upload your pics to something like photobucket. From within photobucket you select the pic you want, click on the IMG code and paste it into your post in this thread. You can always preview your post in here first to see if it works.

If you haven't used photobucket before you'll need to set up an account, but it's free biggrin.gif

    Good luck flowers.gif

Thanks - think I've got it right. Hopefully this is a picture of Bella and Josie. unsure.gif

    Hello! wave4.gif

I'm in SW Essex so maybe not too far from you

Hi Maria - I'm near Epping.

  7. Having been reading the topics and adding the occasional comment for several months now, I've just discovered this bit so thought I'd introduce myself. Better late than never.

I'm in West Essex - retired and live with husband and varying population of dogs. We foster for several rescues but are both especially involved with the Oldies Club. We have two dogs of our own - a Golden Retriever and a Lab, both elderly.

Love to hear from any other doggie people in my area.
