  1. The films were crap when I went to the Dominican Republic in March. Usually the Dreamliner films are pretty decent with Thomson, but going out it was a foreign based Dreamliner, so it was all weird stuff. Coming home it was a uk based one, but the entertainment was the same. With Emirates, there's something like 1800 films and tv channels to watch. I might watch Finding Nemo when I first get on board. Not sure what else I might watch. On the way here I watched the new Jungle Book, Dad's army film, Up and the whole of friends season 10! The time flew by
  2. Thanks guys - the in flight entertainment is brilliant with Emirates. Definitely won't get bored Glad Steve has messaged you Griff
  3. Hope you are feeling ok today Griff Definitely an expensive transport run Owl The last transport run I did though, mum and dad ended up adopting the dog I'm not allowed to do them anymore Last few hours in Bali, got 3 hours and 45 minutes of mooching around before I leave for the airport. Just had a late lunch after an hour of reflexology, then will have another mooch, a coffee and then call my hosts to take me back to my accommodation. The hosts here have been outstanding - nothing is too much trouble for them Then starts the mammoth journey back home - 90 minutes to the airport, 9 hours to Dubai, 3 hours hanging around Dubai, before another 8 hours back to Manchester
  4. I don't think my mum and dad sleep in the same bed any more. Although that might be because they both snore and wake each other up Glad you have got your rings back Griff - what made you think he was seeing someone else? Fingers crossed he calls you
  5. Thanks guys Having done a bit of people watching whilst out here, sometimes it looks like being in a couple isn't fun. They just sit there in stony silence and don't talk to each other. Am sure they do at other times, but yesterday on the boat between Gili T and Padang Bai, there were loads of couples and most of them just ignored each other. The boat ride was 90 minutes long! It was me that posted the meme Suzeanna - am hoping that now I'm getting into the weightlifting and going somewhere new to train, that I might get a bigger social circle. I have no friends to go out with at the moment, so my evenings are spent at the gym or at home Been told about a possible new job - it would be employed, but the person who told me about it reckons they would accept part time hours (so I can still do some of my current Locum days and drop a couple). It would be doing all pre and post op cataract appointments at a private hospital in Wakefield. I used to do pre and post op laser and loved it, but the sales pressure was too much. This would be for NHS patients, so no sales pressure at all Going to send my CV in when I get home and see what happens.
  6. Aww Griff, am sure if Steve likes you as much as you like him, things will sort themselves out with time However if it doesn't, don't let it get you down - I've never had a real relationship, starting to think I'm a troll or something I messaged the video guy from my brother's wedding to ask if he wanted a drink when I got home from Bali. He didn't even reply Oh well, not sure I could have dated a serious vegan anyway - I like steak and chicken too much to eat at vegan restaurants
  7. Have I killed everyone off with talk of my feet? Arrived in Ubud, toe feeling slightly better. Or it was until I got off the boat and smacked my sore toe with my stupid wheely bag with scuba gear in it It brought tears to my eyes and I lost the ability to walk on that foot for a while. I hate that wheely bag My current home is amazing. The hosts have thought of everything. They dropped me off in the main town, gave me a map with decent restaurants on it and will pick me up later. The room has everything you could need (including a hairdryer and slippers). I love it - wish I was staying for longer
  8. Hope the cold sores sort themselves out soon Griff I appear to have been bitten by something. I don't know what, but it's not a mozzy as it's really painful and not itchy. I went to see a doctor yesterday. He's given me some anti histamines and steroids. I'm not allowed to drink on them
  9. Don't beat yourself up Suzeanna - sometimes these changes happen really gradually. If they are getting on a bit as well, you would put the changes down to old age. Moved on to Gili T now. Apparently it's a tropical Ibiza - already seen plenty of signs offering magic mushrooms and spliffs  One place even had a magic mushroom milkshake! I've lived such a sheltered life I wasn't going to dive again, but since everyone here is hell bent on getting high and drunk, and that isn't really my thing, I've booked a dive for tomorrow morning
  10. I had no idea what brand to get when I went to get Walter and Jessie's first lot of food. Royal Canin was on offer, so I got some of that. I tried swapping them over to a holistic/organic food that P@H did, but Walter went on hunger strike I have also tried them on Whiskers - that gave them the runs. So I've given up and am sticking with Royal Canin. It suits their tummies and Walter loves it.
  11. Is it kitten food Jazz? If you are getting a kitten, they need to be fed kitten food until they are about 12 months old. Walter and Jessie are fussy buggers and will only eat Royal Canin
  12. Don't be surprised if he plays with the box more than the tree Whenever I get my protein delivery, Walter and Jessie stop whatever they are doing (even if they are eating) to play with the box! Last time I had a delivery, I was cooking my tea and when I turned around, Jessie was in the box. Next time I turned around, Walter was sat in the box in exactly the same position
  13. Just arrived in Gili Air, it's beautiful here! So glad I'm here for 3 nights
  14. Cats don't play with cat toys Jazz (unless it's a feather on a stick!). I bought my two a cat pod from cat fur nature (they have a Facebook page). They play with it sometimes. They love cardboard boxes, scrunched up paper etc. Walter loves his feather on a stick though - he brings it up to bed with him most nights Forgot to say - have fun griff Hope the MRI scan goes ok Suzeanna I would watch the F1 and Wimbledon - you can always watch the Tour de France on catch up and can probably hide from the results a bit easier than F1 and Wimbledon
  15. I have read as well that frontline doesn't work as well anymore. It's been around for that long now, that fleas and ticks are probably resistant to it. I use advocate on Walter and Jessie, but being house cats, they are at a low risk of getting anything, so they usually get done about 4 weeks before going into the cattery. Had a good couple of days, am in Tulumben at the moment. There is a massive ww2 cargo ship that has sunk just off the beach. Dived it yesterday and today. Yesterday the waves were massive when we were getting in and leaving the water. One of the waves knocked me over on the way out of the water yesterday and I face planted the beach Unfortunately the beach here is full of pebbles and stones, so it wasn't a soft landing. Think I have a bruise coming on my face Today the waves were calmer, I was up at 5.30am to do a sun rise dive on the wreck, then we came back to shore and we went back in for another dive at 8am. My computer was playing up on the second dive though, so decided to just park my bum on a sun lounger and not move for the rest of the day. Moving to the Gili Islands tomorrow, looking forward to that - they are supposed to be really nice
  16. Great news Snow I have seen the news - quite scary really. Papilloedema (that the little boy had) can be subtle or really obvious. Am going to assume that since she has been found guilty, that it was an obvious case. I usually refer anything slightly dodgy as appropriate, but I do sometimes worry that I might make the wrong judgement call
  17. Suzeanna - here is the link for anyone interested http://bluekarmaresort.com/say-goodbye-to-intimate-itchiness-at-ratus-vaginal-spa/I can't believe people actually have this done Hope the bird is ok Alex Glad it's going well with Steve Griff Hope Rosie is ok This morning I have released a baby sea turtle into the sea. He was 3 months old and I got to name him I called him Squirt (after the turtle baby in Finding Nemo). He was very cute. I put him on the sand, but he didn't move, so the lady told me to pick him up and put him closer. Then a wave came and got him all wet. Then he realised where he was and went scooting off to the sea I hope he makes it.
  18. Thanks! Just got back from my dive. It was pretty decent. Not amazing though! We did see Nemo and Gil. No sign of Dory though. Just about to go to a turtle hatchery now (if I can find it )
  19. Sounds interesting Mary Going diving today - just had breakfast (pancake, watermelon and pineapple). Am being picked up at 9am, so got 30 minutes to wait.
  20. You also need one litter tray more than the number of cats you have. I have 4 - one in the bathroom, one on the landing, one under the dining table (that's a hooded one and I never eat at the dining table) and one next to the kitchen bin.
  21. I used litter tray liners once. Never again. I got the plastic ones and when they were digging to cover up their mess, the litter tray liners were dug up, their claws tore holes in them and it was an absolute nightmare. I have tried various different litters over the last 18 months. The best one I have found is the TESCO premium cat litter. It's a clumping cat litter, so you scoop the poo and wee clumps out once a day and then change the litter every week/10 days. We have tried non clumping cat litter (where the wee just gets absorbed, but stays there until you empty the tray). Walter didn't like that and I found it smelled more. Eventually got to my next stop - am sure it cost me far more than it should have done, but I just wanted to get here (after being on a bus for 6 hours, I would have given my whole life savings to get here!!)
  22. Sounds like things are going well Griff Spent today by the pool and then headed to the beach. Just been dozing and reading my kindle. It's been really warm today. Moving on tomorrow - that's gonna be a bit of a mission, but I think that *should* be the worst journey out of the way. Am hoping for a bus that will take me most of the way. Gonna have to get a taxi to take me to the city and then figure out a bus from there. Sri Lanka was much easier to travel around!!!
  23. Thanks guys- they appeared eventually. I was convinced that it was just one guy walking from the terminal to the plane and walking back with one suitcase at a time My first stop is beautiful - it's a little bungalow made out of bamboo. Just waiting for breakfast now
  24. Helloooooo from Bali!!! I'm tired, I smell and my cases are taking forever to appear
  25. Sounds good griff We eventually got airborne at 4.20 Something about some paperwork that needed doing in Dubai and sending over to Manchester Anyway, I have made it into Dubai, my alarm is set for 7am and I'm in a nice comfy bed Watched the new Jungle book movie and Dad's Army movie. Then I found season 10 of friends, so I got stuck into that. Hoping for more of the same on tomorrow's flight
