you are a scooterholic !!!! do you have any photos of your growing scooter collection Insurance is pretty much the same here as the UK I understand and I do have very good insurance that my head vet arranged for me but more importantly the other party had insurance as well and the have accepted full responsibility to the police. You might remember that once upon a time I was a derailment and train crash investigator so with that head on I jumped out and took a series of photos and videos from all angles showing the position of every thing , skid marks on the road and the damage to both cars just in case thats needed.

the new furniture sounds lovely especially the brass owls was the previous owner Sri Lankan by any chance ? DIY electrics seem to be the norm here !!!! I must get you a photo of the "universal" plug my vet team use to power the AC on the surgery truck , I have to walk by it with my eyes closed have woken up ( always a good start to the day ) with nothing more than a slightly stiff neck so all in all not bad at all

for those of you not on Facebook Mark and I had a bit of a lucky escape today On the way back from todays clinics a van driver lost control in the heavy rain when his brakes locked and he hit us head on , thankfully no one in either vehicle was hurt although our car will be spending a few weeks at the garage as it quite badly damaged. Mark was a bit of a superstar and kept very calm and did the best he could to minimise the impact but we both swore like troopers in the final couple of seconds The manager at a local hotel was shocked at the damage to the car as we don't have a scratch on us, he said it was because we have good Karma because of our good deeds ! I personally think its because 20 year old land cruisers are built like tanks but what ever it is I am thankful !!!!

I think you are 100 % right , what a huge emotional burden you have had to shoulder , I hope the coming years are peaceful and kind for you

I have such a bad voice that when Aisling was little she would ask me to stop singing to her !!!! I was singing the Dogstar song which has been written for us by an Australia guy I met recently here in Sri Lanka , does anyone know if its possible to upload music to some where so I can share it here ?

Griff if things change and you could travel we would so like to have you come visit us I have had the maddest of mad weeks , a team from Soi Dog in Thailand have been with me this week to learn how we catch and handle street dogs with a trainer from the Dogs Trust , I am still getting my head around the fact that Soi Dog have come to us for training !!! they are HUGE and we are tiny tiny tiny Today I went to to my head vets private kennels , he has a dog that police brought in after he was discovered in a house with his owners who had all been murdered and the dog was trapped in the house with the bodies for a week the dog is a large rottie and was very shut down , traumatised no one could handle him ( or get near him ) . I spent about an hour on and off with him in the kennels and got him eating from my hand and was able to stroke him and he gave a huge sigh , relaxed and he leant into me ( which my rottie does ) we were then able to get one of the kennel staff to touch him as well so small steps but a good start. The kennel staff were laughing because at one point I was singing to him and I can't sing for toffee !

The crisis centre was very good , I think we have the right help now I know this is going to sound a bit woe is me ( when its not about me ) but I have found this very emotionally draining and stressful and on top of my day to day stuff its actually made me feel pretty crap , upset my sleeping and eating patterns and given me what seems to be a permanent headache I am only imagine how shite it is being this lady if this is how I feel just helping her Happy Birthday Morse

I am taking the lady with the domestic abuse issues to a crisis centre in the capital today , I am fearful that her life is in danger and so is she The system here is very complicated , I am hoping I have found the right people to help me help her

Evening all ( EX ) Friend gate rattles on with another email with a slight retraction re some of the comments , no apology for anything and finishing off with nice strong "you ( as in me ) are still hurting my feelings" , I have set it up so any further emails go straight into my bin unseen Am off to a bar this evening that are a running an pub quiz for Dogstar , should be a giggle

The person has a number of issues with a number of our other friends ( non charity related ) over a period of time and they were very upset that we would not take sides and stop talking to the people they fell out with ( we recommended they sit down with other friends to try and resolve issues ) , Today they started blaming us for "making them feel bad " by not "taking their side" and being "unfaithful" because we still talk to the other friends even though "it hurts them to see us being friends" saying we were not "real friends" because 'real friends" would have cut the other people out of their life etc etc and then proceeded to write a vile venting ranting email twisting innocent events into huge conspiracies and I presume being spiteful about Dogstar because its personal to us . I think they need to speak to some one in a professional manner because they clearly have demons and issues that non of our friendship group are able ( or now willing ) to help with.

I am sure your new neighbour will be delighted to work with you to do a new fence Snow , most people want a nice secure garden don't they I have just had the most spiteful and awful email from someone I considered a friend ( nothing to do with forums ) They have clearly got a jealously thing going on re Dogstar ( why I don't actually know ) but have said some very personal , vile and awful things about Mark and I and some nasty things re Dogstar Funny how you think you know someone but actually you don't at all ,

Its another FOFKW ( feast of F*ck knows what ) I think this one is something to do with Mary but its all a bit Wooly if I am honest Villagers pay yes they actually pay 3000rs ( 15 quid ) to have a PA near their house , we are SO ( un ) LUCKY that the man across the road has brought one and its next to my bedroom so at 5 am I am woken up by Ava Maria , its like being in the bloody sound of music

I appear to be hosting the village feast on the 14th of September ! Remember the lady who has the domestic abuse ? she normally does it ( something to do with the local church ) but of course currently she can't due to her living arrangements , she was talking to me today and was very sad that so I said she could do it at my house I think its going to bigger than the Popes visit......

I am feeling a bit despondent at the moment , the situation with the domestic abuse ( lady in village ) has really unsettled me , the lady keeps coming to my house and crying , telling me she wants a divorce but her husband refuses and with out his consent she cannot get one end of story. I have found a domestic abuse charity and I am taking her there to see if an injunction can be brought against him , looking online I think it can and she is fearful that he will really hurt her again so hopefully we can get something done. Mark is taking her to a private hospital to get the damage to her ear and hearing logged , it seems like she now has tinnitus and hearing loss. I have also seen some horrific bullying today on Facebook all connected to an american rescue , really really vile ganging up by some holier than thou "rescuers" and their sheep like supporters who think they have the right to rip the crap out of anyone not doing as much front line work as ( some of them ) say they are doing , and given how much time they are spending on Facebook I have to say I am not sure they are doing as much as they think It really pisses me off , no one is better than anyone else just because they work front line , none of us in front line positions could be there without an army of supporters and just because you are a rescuer that does not mean you are automatically a bloody saint nor should you be worshiped

I get "it must be lovely to live on a tropical island and cuddle fur babies all day, you are so lucky....." I admit I switch off when anyone talks about fur babies to me , I run a animal welfare organisation that specialises in humane dog population management and rabies eradication programs , people can call their own pets what they want* but I deal with dogs in my work not fur babies my own dog for example often answers to Mr Gru face squirrel monster.......

Hi Griff great to see you back Gru has coconut oil in his turmeric powder , he also has a bioflow collar and I think both are helping him thank you for the offer though thats really sweet
