  1. Glad to hear broked horses arent too broked and should be better soon!, i remember my old mare on ventapulmin and it worked mega quick on her!

I might get a chance to do some odd grooming/care bits soon for a friend, i cant wait!, makes a nice change to wandering fields taking foal pics!

  2. Mrs Wise Owl, one of Diesels lumps (he has a few) is big, like almost half tennis ball size, the vet took a sample and it went down, now its coming back up, would that be normal for a fluid filled one? I've just found another 2 lumps too, i am not liking this  the big one feels different to the others too, some are tiny.. but one of the ones i just found is near his windpipe :mecry:

  3. At last its hit the press about the 'traveller' pony problem

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-12587087

And the Echo are running something tomorrow!

We know of 6 dead so far, one's been in the field so long the poor thing is rotting :-(

Some have vanished, the lame and sick, funny that!

They are being linked to the Llanelli ponies now Lesley... as expected, and also its believed the 'owner' has approx 1500 scattered all over..... and thats before foaling season kicks in :-(

  4. I had a call at 2.30, 3 ponies on the park, again :-(

Just had a text from a mate, 1 now sadly dead traveller pony, not sure of details yet, but apparently all the others have vanished.... and its the last thursday of the month tomorrow, Llanybydder... apparently thats where they are headed, but how with no passports hmmmm

  5. WHW are my next stop, sadly as Lesley says its such a big group no one i guess has the room etc to do much, i guess once they get some spring/summer grass a fair load will go for meat.... but then it wont be long and we'll see foals about here too..... just walking the dogs this afternoon I can see they have been out and about again, goodness only knows where they have been and where they'll end up this time.

They arent in awful condition so the Rspca cant do anything, obviously the conditions arent ideal, but the roaming is a massive problem, we've also had strangles outbreaks down this way in last 2 weeks, and its about 2 weeks since this lot appeared, a friend lost a mare last week.... I just wish it was possible these poor animals all had loving homes, they are so nervy of people it would be a massive job, but keep the suggestions coming i am more than happy to keep emailing/writing/fighting in any way i can

These are the pics i took when i passed their fields

The last pic, there were 40 plus behind the hedge

  6. I have no idea of the actual amount, originally i was told 70, then anywhere between 70 and 130.... because of the way the fields they are in are laid out you cant see the whole field, I saw at least 40 in 1 part, its sad... there is another part of this 'herd' a few miles away and rumour has it, the numbers are similar.... and they havent started foaling yet... question is tho how do you get someone to take action and help them?

  7. I sorted my jeans last week, i now also have 3 pairs lol

These poor horses cant be caught, they are practically unhandled and very weary of people, the Rspca will only remove anything thats deemed ill or if anything is caught and contained, which somehow i cant see any of these being, its all really sad :-(

Some of the ones i saw in the field the other day really are beautiful, or could be..... i couldnt see them all, hedges in ways and you dont really want to be going into the field when theres maybe 50 plus gonna surround you by the gate, i just feel so sorry for them

  8. I have an owner name, apparently the rest are in bonvilston..... Made some calls, doubt much will be done, took 9 calls to the ole bill and they sent 2 policewoman, with 2 leadropes, thats gonna help NOT!

Had a call from mums neighbour 2 nights ago, 2 were in the lanes, would i go 'catch' them, like erm no one can!

Feel for them tho, and a few weeks and we'll have the foals too *sigh*

  9. Anyone want to come play with 70 plus traveller ponies that are currently on the rampage round here? *sigh*

2 hours spent herding 2 away from main roads and back to near where they came from and the police finally sent 2 'police woman' to come *help*, bit bleedin late!......

And all the mares are due to drop foals soon!..... oh the joys!
