  1. OK In am genuinelysorry for offence I have caused to individuals helping rescue, believe me you are appreciated and rescues would have a hard job without you. I have tried the the best I can to answer questions posed, they were thick and fast and I am not an internet wizard - I do 100% and always will support DP and will always stand up for what I believe in.
  2. I apologise wholeheartedly Laura, everyone is important in rescue, no matter how much they do - everyone makes a difference.
  3. Why would any of these rescues want their posting rights reinstated, there are 65 pages on this thread, saying what a terrible place dog pages is - talk about a witch hunt. On the one hand you are saying Dog pages is a valuable resource for rehoming on the other hand we have comments such as 'blood on your hands', responsible for dogs dying etc.etc. well which is it? I am here as a moderator of DP, there are moderators on refuge who were previously mods on DP - so by association they must have 'blood on their hands' too. Could I just ask when Jacqui, Mel etc were mods on DP did they resign their posts in outrage when rescues were banned, I dont think so. As for Ray posting, is he a member here then? although quite why he would feel the need to answer questions posed by individuals whose only tie to rescuing dogs is a PC is beyond me. This thread was started by Coryn, who hasnt found it necessary to post dogs on Dog Pages since February, oh bar one - has never found it necessary to post poundie lists in the rescue section of the board - have any of these dogs lost their lives . I dont know how many more times I have to say it, if you don't like the way it is run, its simple, just dont go there
  4. I have more than my fair share of staffies to rehome, and remember I work under the same rules as the rest of us associated with DP. Perhaps if more time was given to trying to help these dogs and less time given to posting here, laying blame left right and centre a few more dogs would be safe, I dont know how else to say it, if you dont like DP , dont go there.
  5. As stated about a zillion pages back, we tend to home our dogs from local advertising and our own website, we do not rely on forums to home our dogs. As for access to a rescue section, well we are a rescue, up to you whether you allow us there or not
  6. So moving the poundies to rescue exchange was done purely to p**** rdr off. So what about all the other rescues posting their poundies, did they complain - no!!. I'd like to know who are these hundreds of rescues that dont have access to rescue exchange - are they the same ones that dont have access here. I don't have access to the rescue section here by the way, why is that, perhaps a host will be along to answer soon. I havent missed anything - RDR have chosen not to post their poundies on dog pages for a long time now, so is that being skewed around to be dog pages fault too To my knowledge no it hasnt - has your equivalent?
  7. I would be very interested to know which pounds you are taking dogs from for me. Actually, your real name would be useful as I would like to personally thank you for any help you have given to us. Pounds are pounds, some good, some bad - personally I just care about getting the dog out of there to safety as I am sure you do. Pounds are council controlled, we don't have any say in how they operate.
  8. sorryt havent read all the posts, I was answering a post that said unlike your rescue section the rescue exchange was used to post sticks at each other - whatever that is supposed to mean. I havent got time to scroll back through 50 odd pages, perhaps you could copy and paste. Mrs, Mop - do you run a rescue, if not you would not have access to rescue exchange, just as imagine you havent got access to the rescue part of this board
  9. To my knowledge neither do we 'poke sticks' at each other. However, my answer was to do with listing pound dogs, just to confirm RDR and any other rescues homing poundies were moved to the rescue section to make life easier for them.
  10. As stated, I dont know the reason Wendy, it was before my time as a mod, maybe JacquiD could answer that as I believe she was a moderator at the time. Did she agree with the decision to not allow Oldies Club to post?
  11. Ditzy Lips, sorry for delay in responding, my phone does not stop ringing and the dogs have to come first. Heva, yes they could post the dog for rehoming. Poundies are of course still able to be listed on dog pages, they are listed on the rescue section rather than the main 'we need a home boards'. Reason, to prevent the poundie rescues getting overloaded with enquiries from general members of the public wishing to home dogs directly from the pound. The Rescue section of the board, is I believe similar to the one on here, it is just for rescues alone. I dont believe I have ever seen RDR dogs listed in there, lots of poundies find places there though, we have taken as many as we can ourselves and would willingly help Rochdale dogs if the need arises.
  12. Ask away Heva, I will try and answer as best I can. Oldies Club, Cindy I dont know what the original problem was, the reason the links were removed recently was because of the listing of Mill Rescue dogs on your site. I'm sorry but whether anyone likes it or not we (DP) do not support Mill Rescue.
  13. quote name='ReikiAnge' date='May 6 2008, 07:56 PM' post='683859'] Carol, may I just ask, while you're here again, are you fully in support of Ray's decision to prevent rescues such as RDR (which helps save the lives of poundies, something I know is very dear to your heart) from posting on DP, (thereby potentially reducing the chance of dogs finding rescue places/new homes etc.) because they also choose to post here? I think there are many questions on here to me about a variety of things, but as the thread is about RDR I will stick to the point. Anyone with any questions about how my rescue is run can e mail me at [email protected] or phone me on 01885 482967. Now to RDR, I cannot recall the last time I saw a list of poundies being posted by RDR on dog pages, indeed the last post before this furore was back in February looking for a home for one dog. If DP was so vitally important in safeguarding the future of Rochdale poundies why havent they been posted there. There are many rescues on the site (DP) that pull together to save poundies from all over the country week in week out. Where have the Rochdale dogs details been posted?. Correct me if I am wrong but it seems clear to me that RDR themselves made the choice not to post their dogs on Dog Pages. The posting that has caused the problem was for transport volunteers - so it would appear that Dog Pages are not good enough to help find places for Rochdale poundies but their volunteer database can be used as and when necessary to find transport. As far as I am aware Brunzara has not been banned from dog pages.
  14. Has anyone ever bothered to thank Ray for setting up dog pages, by doing that he has been responsible for saving an awful lot of dogs lives. You are quite prepared to slander him, yet at the same time you are complaining that you are not allowed to post on his board ,are you suprised.
  15. double standards - you obviously dont know me personally. I care for our poundies with a passion, as I do with any othe needy dog that comes our way, as do the other members of HWAR. Quite why it should be of concern that the kennels were originally stables I dont really know, prior to the conversion we were renting a block of kennels the other side of the county.
  16. There are 100's of photos available of the meadowbank dog show. I dont know what sherlock bones is trying to prove. As said before our kennels are open for anyone to visit we have nothing to hide. Dee, have you ever called on us, you are very welcome to do so
  17. What would you like - my planning application, the architects report, minutes of the planning meeting, I believe they are freely available on the herefordshire council website, Anyone having problems with us, come and see for yourselves, any time day or night (within reason obviously) we have nothing to hide, its not state of the art kennels, but its warm and comfortable and dogs come first. They are not a commodity to be bought and sold, they are living loving beings that we take care of. I am sorry Mrs Mop that you don't like us anymore, I don't know why I have been as truthful as possible
  18. Hi Maggi, can you clarify that you now have planning permission for your new centre as I see you are still running the campaign to buy a brick, whether a good idea by a volunteer or not, obtaining money by false pretences is I believe against the law. It is questionable how Pip met his fate, he would have been served better when he was so ill to have been taken to a local vet rather than carted halfway across the country and left to die, how did he die in your arms he should have been in a vets being taken care of. No you arent the first or last rescue to have a dog die, how you deal with it makes the difference
  19. Can I just say, I hold RDR and the Oldies Club in high regard, I believe them both to be excellent rescues who do make a difference to dogs in need. As do other rescues who I understand are not allowed to post here. Its all down to choice, Coryn you have rarely posted on dog pages since the poundies were moved to the rescue section, I cant remember the last time I saw a list of RDR dogs needing rescue spaces - then all of a sudden we are flooded with requests for transport runs. You havent needed dog pages in the past so why the complaints now
  20. It was £300,000.00 not £3,000.00. As to the money DP has collected ? do you mean the £5 or £10 one off payment people make to join the sponsor lounge, oor the £7000 raised through the auction and photo competition. It was all out in the open, people knew exactly what the money would be used for. I am sure there are accounts available for anyone wishing to see them.
  21. As I have said previously, the thread is available for anyone to read and make up their own mind. Sick dogs, dying dogs, there were too many reported to ignore or were those owners lying. I know many rescues and these days dont find it necessary to send dogs to others as we rehome them ourselves. Any other rescue is welcome to contact us if they have a dog in need, if we have room and are able to help then we will - irrespective of whether they are a member of an internet forum or not. I don't know where you got your information from concerning my kennels, or what its got to do with anything. However as you have asked, the building was already there its a 100 year old stable block that we converted to kennels for which we had full planning permission granted May 2007. Not sure what you mean about posts disappearing, I assume they are removed by mods, just as it happens here
  22. The decision to not allow Dog Lost to post was made a long time before I became a mod on DP, so you probably know as much as I do. Perhaps one of the former DP mods would be better placed to answer you on that one - perhaps Mel or Pingu can give you an answer. Mill Rescue - DP had received several complaints before the open day, these related to sick dogs, dogs that had died, conditions they were kept in etc.etc. There were also questions raised about the £300,000 buy a brick campaign to build the new rescue centre although there was no planning application for this centre to be built. The visit by a DP mod did prove through photographic evidence that animals were being kept in poor conditions. The thread is still available to be read on Dog Pages. Please read the thread, then you can make your own mind up about them. The decision was made that posting rights for the rescue would be removed. I dont know whether they posted here prior to the DP decision. As Mill post their dogs here, other rescues who are happy to post alongside them are seen as supporting them, its up to the rescue concerned where they want to post their dogs. There are many individuals who post both on Dog Pages and the Refuge without any problems. We don't constantly monitor both boards and immediately delete any posts made by Refuge members. We are volunteers, we, as I imagine the mods here do, concentrate on weeding out the troublemakers and nutters that find their way onto the boards.
  23. Few more answers........ I was asked to be a mod on DP, along with several other people, before I went on holiday to India, although the announcement was made when I was away. I don't understand what is meant by being made an offer I couldnt refuse, I was asked I said yes thats it. I havent been forced to post on here by anyone, and havent spoken to Ray in a good while. I felt the need to post as there were a number of derogatory comments being made about DP mods. Quite frankly to make nasty comments about someone who is still receiving cancer treatment is not necessary and very unkind to say the least. I have no wish to fall out with anyone I have made many friends in the rescue world, I don't base friendship on which forum people post on at the end of the day where people post is their choice. I did and still do support the DP stance on Mill Rescue for reasons that have been discussed a 1000 times, its sad that some good rescues have got caught in the crossfire but they are made fully aware of the reason behind the ruling.
  24. In answer to the questions posed, we generally post the dogs just on our own website, as most of the homes we find these days are local. We don't tend to send dogs to other rescues as we have our own kennels and rehome them ourselves.
