  1. Thanks I'm actually couting days lol
  2. Thanks black magic, it is popular, isn't it! Already a lot of dates booked up in the school holidays (and unfortunately my mum works in a school so is only free in the holidays), but we'll see if we can fit it in! It's official...........MoonBix is CLOSING! As Moon gets out in just 6 short weeks, we need to raise the funds for just one final kennel bill I am both happy and sad to end MoonBix, for it's been fun but also a major commitment too. So if anyone out there did want to buy more MoonBix, this is probably your last chance. To celebrate we've launched TWO biscuits of the month (apologies for lack of photos, we hope to get them up in the next few days). One is Cheeze and Spinach Foldz which are ravioli shaped with a cottage cheese and spinach centre wrapped in a crunchy pastry. Also introducing Ginger Pupz, like gingerbread men but doggy! These are to shaped specially to celebrate the dog himself who required all this effort (but was so worth it!), the Moonster himself So we plan to keep MoonBix running for approx the next 4 weeks only, we will then however be closing down as we only ever intended this to be a fundraising solution to bring Moon Home, we well....now he is almost home! We may in the future launch the occasional limited addition biscuit to fundraise for animal charities of our choice, it all depends on the time we have, however we shall definately be shutting down for a period to spend time with Moon when he gets out. It's been a mission, there have been highs and lows along the way, but I'd never change any of it and there is absolutely NO WAY we could have done this without all your support, so THANK YOU! The website will not be shutting down (just the shop), so please continue checking the updates after as there will be many updates and photos of Moon and his adventure into his new life......
  3. So Moon gets out in just 6 weeks (excuse me but SQUEEEEEEEE! ), anyhoo myself, Adam and my mum would like to rent a cottage or stay at a hotel somewhere in the summer/early autumn and we really want to take Moon along. has anyone else taken their dog on holiday? Must have some nice walks, woodland etc, would be great to have somewhere safe to let the dog off lead. Obviously need dog friendly accomodation and we'd love a beach because Moon would love to splash in the sea, I am sure! Any reccomendations?
  4. Went to Crufts today and spent most of the day shopping to get things for Moon. I lost count of how much I spent But I easily blew a weeks wages and i'm very glad I get paid weekly so that I only need to survive for a few days before i get paid again We got him ........(It's like that kids game "I went shopping and I brought..... ) A black collar with purple paw prints and matching lead A long black training lead A Nylabone with a marrow bone centre A "Chuck and Duck" rope and fabric frisbee A Moon Dog toy (we had to, look at the name!) A plainted rope and ball toy Some bizarre fleecy strip ring type toy which I can't explain but know he'll love! A ID tag (disc with black enamel background and silver bone) A mix of chewies (crocs, hedgehogs, star sticks etc) We umm'd and ah'd over a gorgeous water resistant fleecy jumper as we're worried he'll be cold, but then again he might not need it. As it was £30 we left it, but not sure now... We looked at bowls etc but didn't buy them as we can get them in any pet shop, am trying to decide if he need a stand to raise his bowl or not We also need to pick up a brush. Also are not getting him a bed yet as he shredding the soft pillow we gave him in kennels, but this was possibly because he's a bit bored. We don't want him to just destroy it, however he might be fine once he is out. I think we'll start by crate training him and let him use that as his bed (door open) with some blankets inside to start with. he loved sleeping in his crate in Vietnam, so he'll be fine with that. Once we know how chewy he is, we'll decide what bed to get him. I like the look of the Tuffies beds. Anything else you guys can think that we need to get him? Also, sorry the new Biscuit of the Month isn't up on moonbix.co.uk yet, it is coming, promise Also, in case anyone is interested, the always fab Sarah (sproggie) and Dave came to visit Moon again. He recognised them both and despite a half hearted growl at Dave, he was allowing them to fuss him up after only 2 mins. It's great progress for him and fills me with confindece that he will get over his fear of strangers entirely after some time and confidence building
  5. Oh don't you worry, there will be many many pics. The poor boy will probably be blind from the flash and you'll all be sick of scrolling past pages and pages of Moon There will be one seriously big update when he comes home!
  6. Only 9 weeks to go and counting! Getting very excited and saving up to go an one big shopping spree soon to by leads and beds and bowls and toys and all the things he'll need to come home.I just can't wait!
  7. Hi Guys just thought I’d give you all a brief update on how things are going with us and Moon. Well first piece of news is this update is coming to you from Moon’s Dad not his Mum. Amanda has secured a new job at a wildlife rescue centre and is currently living on site with no Internet access. That therefore leaves the updating to me. So fab news for Moon since the last update, he as now been meeting and greeting new people and is settling in quickly to the new stardom. Although he seems naturally nervous of new people he is quickly learn to trust them and even allowing some to get some of his famous head cuddles. For a complete update on his story and to seem some great pics of him visit the updates section of the MoonBix website. A big thank you to the people who tested the bix when we first started and to that end we have added some pics and comments of those first ‘guinea pigs’ to the websites testimonials page. Also can a say a big thank you to all of you that have helped support the MoonBix project and just to let you know that we are only £680 away from the final goal. Two final things then before I go. Firstly should anyone need to contact myself or Amanda can I please ask that you use the email contacts found on the MoonBix website. As Amanda does not have internet access at the moment she will be unable to respond to any posts here, however the MoonBix email address are connected to my own ant therefore I will be able to respond to you or pass on any information etc you may have for Amanda. And finally just to let you know that MoonBix treat of the month the ‘Sweetheatz’ are now available on the website and can we all wish you a very happy St Valentines days for Moon and all the Team.
  8. I'm trying to get the photos up on the website but while it looks fine on my template, when viewed in Explorer it goes all squiffy! Not please. bear with me while i try and sort it out. Also, we're trying to get ideas for our February biscuit of the month. It has to be valentine themed and ingrediants which is safe for dogs and ideally other pets too. Everyhting else is wide open (shape, flavour etc), so any thought please let us know!
  9. Then please send me a photo of him for the website! We are currently in london, Moon is in kennels outside Heathrow. however we are probably relocating to Gloucester and it is alikely that will be where Moon ends up lnving with us. Where are refuge walks held? We'd love to come along.
  10. Well Sarah and Dave both came to see Moon yestersay and it couldn't have gone better. I am so proud of him. He's quite nervous of stranger, particularly men, so this was a huge step for him. He was a bit growly at first but that soon stopped and he was soon taking treats from "choccie button lady" and "biscuit man" It took him a little while to trust them enough to let him touch them but with me sitting near him, he soon became brave enough. Then he was shaking paws with them, even playing with him new toys a little (S&D throughly spoilt him with a bag load of pressies!) and at one point was being fussed by all three of us at once. I was so proud of him, and it only took him about an hour to accept both of them completely. I'll put photo updates up in the next few days on the website. Also a small request, if anyone has brought MoonBix and would like their dogs/cats on the testimonials page then please email me a photo. We'd be more than happy to put it up on the website
  11. Thanks for your kind words everyone, it means a lot to us to know that so many people are following Moon's story . Also thank you for the biscuit orders, it's the first ones we've had this month! Post-Christmas poorness and credit crunch is effecting everyone, so we really apprciate it. We'll try and get them out to you all ASAP and I hope your flanimals enjoy them. Sarah's sprog dogs we the testers for the prototypes, it was very funny to get mobbed by six collies I'm really looking forward to Sarah and Dave coming to meet Moon next week. Moon hasn't met any western males apart from Adam, so it wil be a big step for him (he was quite wary of males in Vietnam). Fingers crossed everyone will be figihting fit by next week so they can come. We'll post photos on the updates when it happens.
  12. Hi everyone! Sorry for an INCREDIBLY long overdue update. Just to let anyone who remembers this story know that Mun (now spelled Moon), flew from Vietnam and landed in the UK on 25th October 2008. He has now almost completed 3 months in quarantine which puts him almost half way through! Yaaaaay! He is doing incredibly well, he is very settled, loves his personal kennel hand Helen and is getting to realise the world isn't quite the scary place he thought it was. If anyone would like to see photos of Moon please look at his website www.moonbix.co.uk and click on Updates where there are photos and Moon's Diary. We are keeping an eye out for the perfect canine companion (rescue of course) for him for when he comes out. Amanda x
  13. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Sproggie doggies! I love them so much. I'm loving Begley in a box and Loki under the bed, oh that Loki is to norty, love it!
  14. Thanks all for your good wishes. He's still so-so, he's on a 5 day course of antibiotics and give me 'sad eyes' every time a stuff a pill down his throat. He's eating sometimes but it's dropped off a little over the last two days, I'm hoping the antibiotics will pick him up. He's coughing a bit too and feels very sorry for himself. I'll have a look for Thuja but I can't magine it's avaliable out here, I'm looking for echinacea too. He probably did have both vaccines too close together, he will need his boosters in a month and he'll also need another rabies jab on arrival. Although we are far from raising the fund we need to get him out so it'll probably be some time before he needs that jab. We'll make sure they are more spread out. Poor boy. p.s. keep an eye out for him in the Dogs Today December issue, I think they are goin to run an article on him to help us raise the funds. My little man is gonna be famous I'll pass on all the good wishes to hm and let you know if he's feeling better.
  15. I'm living in Vietnam and there's a dog here, Mun, who I'm trying to raise the funds to bring home to the UK (some of you may have seen his other thread). Anyway we got him vaccinated in preparation for flying. His was given the 4 in 1 jab and his first rabies. He's been pretty lethagic and depressed for the last 5 days. The vet gave him an antibiotic jab and an anti-inflamatory/pain killer jab two days ago but he still hasn't picked up. Now he has a cough and is going on a course of antibiotics. The vet suspects a reaction to the distempa part of his vaccine. Has anyone else had this happen to their dogs? Any advice? How longdid it take for your dog to perk up? It's really upsetting to see him like this, we fought so hard to get permission to take him and now he's sick. It's really worrying
