The work phone is already ringing with people calling in sick.... *sigh*

did you see on GMTV this morning about how companies may look into using lie detectors cause so many people ring in sick when the weather is nice

I am feeling grumpy and miserable today

don't know why, just one of those days :(

am trying to find a cheapish garden table and 4 chairs set for my garden ..... Argos did a fab resin green one for just £40 and now sold out ...... have looked on ebay but no-one close to MK is selling one ..... its going to bug me now til I find a set

  2. well done Cheryl on your run

I am tired and off to bed shortly, after one last walk with Lady.

My arms are a bit pink after today's sun !!

And I am so craving a packet of dry roasted peanuts .....!!

  3. I'm itching to do some gardening as bushes and grass are horribly overgrown. Not to mention weeds everywhere. I had a thought earlier that I could just do a little bit. Went to put washing on line and felt a painful tug in tum so I guess I won't then. Grr.

frustrating for you .... how long is your recovery time?

Dee: think you'll find it in that so called cupboard where you just open the door and throw stuff in whilst muttering to yourself " i will remember where that is now when i need it again"

or is it just me who does that??

  4. I'm doing a 10k run in Blackpool today for CAFT, wish me luck!!

    good luck :flowers:

  6. I would officially like to request that the rain stays away from my little corner of Wiltshire. I hung washing out before I left for work so don't want it getting soaked before I get home

Rain and thunder has now left Milton Keynes !!

Fingers crossed it stays dry for you :)

  7. you're right they definitely didn't forecast rain, but we have just had a big downpour and now its just drizzling

garden looks better for it :)

just got a text from my friend .... bar-b-q off, chinese takeaway instead :(

  8. Phebe and Sarah: So sorry to read your sad news :GroupHug:

Michelle: does sound as though I have IBS ..... I get bloated, windy and burpy, definitely go to the toilet loads more and have pain on and off, at the moment its like a dull ache, and gurgly.

Will see the doc this week and be more insistent about getting a second opinion.

Its pouring with rain. My mates fault, cause she's invited me round for a bar-b-q :)

  9. Natalie - a light has just come on. You haven't got IBS have you. I should also have mentioned sooner than this. Aloe Vera is very good for stomach problems. Not very tasty I grant you but very effective. Takes a few months before it starts working but really is worth it honestly. It all calms down lovely. If it is IBS Colpermin pills help with the pain although if you're already taking peppermint .....

Hi Michelle. Thanks for the tip re. Aloe Vera.

I did question the doc about me having IBS but he dismissed before I finished my sentence :(

My Mum suffers, and I do have some similar symptoms. Mmmmmm.

I have had breaky, 2 cups of peppermint tea, and feel better but stomach gurgling away ....

I bought a suit on Ebay for something silly like £7 - brand new, tags attached (granted it's just a George one). It arrived this morning and it's gorgeous. I'm an odd size just now - some size 10's are too big, some are too small, some 12's fit, some end up round my ankles. The trousers of the suit fit perfectly. I am chuffeder than a big chuffed thing. Another pair of work trousers I bought also arrived, and they fit perfectly too. They cost me a quid

thats fab Elaine, you can pick up so many bargains on ebay, I am an addict :)

:GroupHug: for you who need them today

  10. Morning all :flowers:

I've got up this morning with a painful, swollen big toe probably from wearing flipflop style sandals yesterday. I'm supposed to be at work for 10am but unless I can find some kind of footwear to fit me fat toe in I won't be going  and why oh why do the dogs have to stamp all over said sore toe! even the rabbit's had a go!

    Di x

Ouch Di, sounds painful ... sending your toe healing thoughts :GroupHug:

RMF: My innards hurt. Trapped wind. Delightful.

You need a good fart fart.gif

Definitely a good fart needed ...... love that smiley :)

My tummy hurting .... me thinks I will be back at the docs this Tuesday when my ABs run out ... better go and have some cereal and a peppermint tea

  11. Those pieces of paper that you moved about between your hands like a mouthy thing (I cant explain it!) but it would have numbers, or colours and then when you opened it up there would be a message inside or a forfeit. Oh `eck I've not explained that very well at all really

Yeah I remember those. And used to make loads, but wouldn't have a clue now.

Can't remember what they were called though.

I used to do hopscotch and french skipping (which I think is the same as elastic)

Kiss chase (prob my fav activity :) )

  12. Morning all

Poor Mr Az is broken. I think he bounced on something and bruised his knee. He is extremely woe, and keeps giving me his leg and asking me to fix it for him. :crying_anim:

:GroupHug: for Az, hope he feels better this morning

I am going out with Lady for a long walk now while its cool, cause she isn't liking the heat at all.

My day will then be a walk up to the children's school to look round the Spring Fayre, then back home, chilling in the garden with a book ..... can't decide which one to read yet !

Oh, and I feel sick, had a lovely meal last night but it was very rich, and my stomach doesn't feel good :(

  13. the sky has changed colour, its suddenly got a lot cooler, and the local weather say there is a thunderstorm heading towards Milton Keynes

I knew cutting my grass would make that happen !!

Better leg it out with Lady before it starts.

Am out with my girlfriends tonight for a yummy slap up meal ..... cant wait, me is hungry :)

  14. I am offering the services of hubby to help :)

Have you told Steve yet

Nope :D But he is a good one anyway, so I am sure he would help a damsel in distress

Oh thank you, am sure I am going to be a very weak, and feable damsel in distress on the day, with Lady hanging around the children being impatient :)

Well don't ask me, remember what happened last time

For those who don't, I got dragged over the grass by a very determined Dolly and in the end I had to let go (no worries, it was safe) as I was on the other side of a gazeebo leg and snatch was pulling into the other direction

    :biglaugh:
