  1. 18th nov at maidstone too.
  2. You will still need to get annual boosters of lepto though.
  3. We were at a starters competition run by the maple leafs yesterday and they were running a singles competition, a single run over low jumps with electronic timing. Meg won doing a run in 4.09 seconds!! I'm so pleased as she beat some of the top flyball dogs from the maple leafs and shooting stars!
  4. Sounds like my kind of lecture!
  5. Me, we're in div 1 again! Have you got your transport problems sorted yet? Who's running in the hounds? Lucky, tehya, max and blue i guess, is there a small dog coming?
  6. Sorry to hear about your foot! I'm glad to see pumpkin looking so well though!
  7. Thank you so much, we did have quite a good week end. She also came 2nd in beginners agility on saturday, but we are still searching for the elusive 2 points in agility we need to go to novice after a very disappointing round on the sunday - just one missed contact. She also went clear on her first run in novice steeplechase so i'm pleased with her. Murphy managed 4 clears throughout the weekend. Jumping and steeplechase on the saturday and power and speed and agility on the sunday. He just missed the placings in agility on the sunday getting 11th place, which is not bad for a slow and steady spaniel. I know what you mean, i find agility very stressful and wonder why i do it sometimes, but luckily for me meg and murph do seem to enjoy it. Sometimes i wonder about ellie but i tend to not push her anymore. The main thing is that you both have fun. I think its brave that you have made the decision and from the sounds of it you will both be just as happy doing flyball which both lucky and oni excel at.
  8. I'll be there on friday night camping through to sunday. Its our last agility show of the year too, and megs first time in novice steeplechase! I know exactly what you mean megs been doing brilliant running contacts at training but that all fell apart last week at pitp. I think that if they don't do the wait it just means they are too enthusiastic and ergo the contacts disappear as well. With willow as soon as she starts singing in the line and goes before james is ready you know its going to be a disaster of a course!! On the other end of the scale murphy is brilliant at training, so fast and accurate, yet at shows he loses all enthusiasm! Why can't i just have a consistent dog!
  9. It was really nice to meet you too! Its nice to put faces to names. We (the Hampshire Harriers) won div 2, and remained unbeaten all day, we didn't lose a single race!!
  10. Oh no, i'm so sorry to hear that, she was doing so well! Sending lots of hugs to you and pumpkin. We were supposed to be doing a starters competition this weekend too, but its been cancelled because of foot and mouth.
  11. In England, Working spaniels are exempt from the ban as long as they are docked within 5 (or is it 3) days by a vet and microchipped. The breeders have to prove that the dogs arelikely to be worked, (i.e. by producing a gun certificate) which is the biggest problem as that provides no guarentees that the pups will go to working homes anyway! The ones that makes me suspicious are the non-working breeds such as rottes and boxers that are still advertising as docked, there is no way they should be!
  12. Oh dear, theres so many things! Megan, not too much really, if i had to maybe stop her pulling on the lead, grumbling at dogs when on the lead and barking like a loon at flyball but i can live with those things really! Ellie, stop her growling at barking at people especially children. I wouldn't mind her stopping grumbling at dogs at training classes either! Murphy well where do i begin?! Most importantly i would stop him having a go at dogs we meet out on walks, and stop him ignoring me when i call him. I'd like him to stop chasing cats and small furries too, but i think thats too much to ask! Oh well, they do still have other attributes i love about them!
  13. Forgot to add, where do the marnicks find all of your fast dogs, you have so many!
  14. I just love watching the racing in div 1 as the dogs turns so well on the box, i was very intrigued to see your new box, does it make much of a difference? Pumpkin is lovely and looks very well, i think i saw you doing some training with her and it looks like shes going to be very good. It was great racing you, even if we did happen to be your only opponents that you did 18.31 with!!! I'm glad you won the division, it was nice for us to actually be racing and having people cheering us on (even if it was because it meant you won!!) I know what you mean about the live wires winning div 1, it was nice to see a northern team winning for a change.
  15. Had a great time at daventry despite the rain! It was great to meet you anniegirl. I really enjoyed meeting more of the northern teams, you all seem to have a great atmosphere going that seems to be lacking from some of the competitions down south. Really pleased with out third too given that our start dog had been lame with a muscle injury for 2 months beforehand.
  16. Whats the camping like at daventry? The details said there was a bar so that should keep the OH happy, although i'm not sure if it will help his changeovers though!!
  17. I look forwards to meeting you too. Yes Janine will be there captaining our team as usual, and for the first time ever she will be camping at a flyball show! Which team is that?
  18. Meg has reached flyball advanced, 5000 points!
  19. I'll be there with the hampshire harriers. We're seeded 2nd in div 4 but our start dog has only just come back into work after a muscle injury and we have no reserves so we're only racing for fun. For the first time ever our whole team is going to camp on saturday evening so i am really looking forwards to it!
  20. Having done both agility and gundog training i am afraid to say that there is just as much hanging around with gundog stuff as there is with agility, if not more so.
  21. I'm not sure how that would work with insurance though, you may need to ask the insurance company, as i don't know of any clients that have claimed for online prescriptions.
  22. Looks like i'm going to daventry.
  23. I wouldn't say the word until you are sure he knows what hes doing, otherwise he may think associate it with something else. I have to admit i still haven't found a way to get murphy to do it, but ellie and meg caught on quite quickly.
