  1. Excuse me while I have a "moment"... (excuse bare walls, that was before I'd papered them )
  2. for Jimmycat RMF : I have come to work suited and booted today for an important meeting this afternoon and have just managed to spill coffee down the front of my blouse
  3. I should have known it was too good to be true Having earlier said he wasn't going to contest anything, Les has now had email advice from a solicitor (which I recommended, how stupid am I? ) who has strongly advised against him signing the divorce petition because I am asking for costs to be awarded. So back to square 1, but at least we know he's had the petition now and that he is still at the same address. However, because he's decided to contest it he now gets 21 days to make a case so it just drags on even more. He is in no financial position to contest it so will have to apply for legal aid.
  4. Thanks Mel, just wish it was all over, hopefully by the summer I'll be footloose and fancy free again "The two Alexs" Possibly
  5. Had word from my solicitor this morning that Les had not acknowledged the divorce petition, so I texted him to ask him what his address was and he rang me. We actually had a fairly sensible conversation - he said he had actually returned the acknowledgement over a week ago to the court saying he was contesting the divorce, but it was because he misunderstood what the petition said and thought I was trying to get money out of him (he hasn't got any even if I was, which I wasn't) He agreed that if my solicitor sent the forms to him again he would sign and consent - I told him to speak to a solicitor or CAB to get them to explain the petition to him. All I want from him is the cost of the divorce and I told him that. He's not happy with it but it's fairly standard in cases of "unreasonable behaviour". He is actually seeing someone (which I knew about) who he has been seeing for several months so wants the divorce to go through as well. I bit the bullet and told him about Alex (the new man) and he didn't say much but not much he can do about it. He doesn't have to consent to the divorce and if he does contest it, he'll end up paying a fortune in costs and he's not that stupid. Anyway, my solicitor is sending out the ackowledgement to him today for signature, so fingers crossed he signs and sends it back asap.
  6. You can have my Garfy, am thinking I might have to rehome him You wouldn't want him though, he's a complete bully with the girls and is stressing Lily out no end.
  7. Morning all I do not want to go to work today, I want to go back to bed. I am still full of a stinking cold and I neeeeed to curl back up in bed with a nice warm man Sam I hope you get your payout sorted today. Amber - baby steps girlfriend, baby steps Don't either of you worry about depressing anybody, that's what we're all here for.
  8. Felt guilty for not doing much yesterday so painted the living room ceiling instead of going for a nap. I have had a bath to wash all the cream paint speckles off my face and out of my hair Now I really do need a nap but if I have one now I won't sleep tonight, so will wait. Takeaway?
  9. Can't decide whether to have a nap or whether to paint the living room ceiling or scrape down the walls in the hall ready for papering...... Nap it is then!
  10. I must admit when I switched the leccy back on I kind of put my hand through a gap in the door and turned the light on just in case it exploded But it's working fine

  13. Got up really early this morning and then went back to bed and have only just resurfaced. Despite feeling all stinkyfied and snotty with a cold, and despite having a splitting nedache, I am in quite a good mood. It's a lovely sunny day out and quite breezy so have washing in the machine to go on the line I am eating bacon sarnie (well part of it, obviously I need to save 5 pieces for the doglets - good job I made one extra ) and drinking coffee. Today I am going to do something other than sit in front of the PC Oh yes, almost forgot, my Polyfilla has come home
  14. I am stuffed. I feel very lazy coz all I've done all day is play on the PC, do a bit of pruning, and eat eat eat. Feel sick All that doing nothing has worn me out so I'm off for a nap
  15. Beautiful sunny day here now, I have washing on the line and have been pruning the grapevine and other bushes back. I had five furry supervisors Can't wait until the leaves are on the trees and everything is luffly and green again I have sausages but they are frozen - choice of Aberdeen Angus or Toulouse yummy. I have instead opted for a luffly brie and pancetta quiche which was not frozen and which is currently in the oven Funnily enough I have also been looking for my polyfilla this morning, maybe they have all runned off together? This time next week I will be at Crufts Have I mentioned I'm going to Crufts at all?
  16. No I really am going to go and have a shower and get dressed, I feel very very lazy
  17. I am having one delivered to work on Wednesday, so I'll let you know then!
  18. Yay for Wendy Jules - great news, keep it up girl. You are only eating because you have nothing to do with your hands, just keep sucking on the inhalator, you will get there! And Booooo for dickhead who keeps ringing you, have you thought about blocking his number or ringing the police to ask them to have a word? RMF : I am still sitting here in my dressing gown and have been for the past 4 hours. I really need to get off my arse, get in the shower and do something...... ......maybe when I've finished my coffee
