  1. Moaning Hope you are on the mend soon griff
  2. Evening. Found out last night why there was water coming through the light fitting in the kitchen. It was coming out of the bottom of the bath. I took the top of the water outlet off and cleared a disgusting gunk of hair and god knows what out of there, then took the side of the bath off, went to B&Q and bought some plumbery things and I think I've managed to sort it but the test will be tomorrow morning when I have my shower.
  3. griff - any news on Dex yet? suzeanna - poor Mandy, it's bad enough with one Timmy's scan showed nothing new, nothing's grown which is good news. We've got to go back in another month (hopefully they won't keep us waiting so long next time ). Someone hadn't told our vet we were there and she only found out when one of the nurses saw Timmy in reception and said to Anna (our vet) "he's one of yours isn't he?". Couple came in with the biggest and most beautiful English Bull Terrier but unfortunately left in tears and without him (from what I could gather he was pts) He looked very lively when he came in but you never know what the reasoning was. Sweet dreams beautiful bully
  4. Moaning Been awake since before 2am Timmy's back at the vets today to have his scan repeated. Some good news though - Lily's meds are working so we don't have to go back for three months.
  5. Evening. I'm all bored out today Fingers crossed for Dex Marion
  6. Moaning I have to go out on a tour round two factories with a man who can bore for Scotland. He's a nice bloke but he does waffle on. I can't really afford to have a day out of the office, so much to do.
  7. Moaning There's not a lot of room snow, I'm going to have to get rid of some to make way The best thing would be a good old Cherry Laurel - you can get a decent sized one for about £30. It's a shame you don't live closer to me, I've got one in a pot which needs to go and you could have had it.
  8. I might also have bought some new Hydrangeas
  9. Afternoon. Snow - I'm glad you're being seen for all the problems now - better that any heart issues are spotted now and treated than wait until the symptoms show. Good luck with getting all your gubbins fixed Owl - definitely time for a whistle. I've done my first bit of gardening for the year - pruned lots of stuff and planted some bulbs out. Garden's in a right state, as is the new patio and paths, so I'm going to have to clean them soon.
  10. Moaning Disturbed sleep last night, not good. Colleague who sits opposite me at work - his brother was in Viola Beach so it was very subdued in the office yesterday. Can't begin to imagine how he and his family are feeling Then we had an email at work to say there were tailbacks on the M62 between J7 & J8 because someone had jumped off the bridge Hoping today is more positive for everybody.
  11. Moaning Jayne I hope Blue is going to be fine Cuddles also for poorly Dex
  12. Moaning I am having a sports day today - three footie matches and one rugby union. Happy days (well it will be if City win, but am not living in hope).
  13. It was fine in the end. We get on well most of the time but we both have quite strong opinions on how to do things, which usually but not always coincides. I told him I felt like he didn't trust me to do my job, to which he responded that he trusted me absolutely 100% and that he is sorry that wasn't clearer. He is a good boss and unlike my last boss he does support me but we are both quite volatile so we do have some 'healthy debates'. However, we're both the same in that five minutes later it's over and done with and business as usual and back to being mates again.
  14. Moaning Quite a traumatic day in work yesterday - my boss and I had a 'heart to heart' and got some things off our chests.
  15. Moaning I got this one Thanks for the link griff Are they really easy to screw into a upvc frame?
  16. Not really, it's only the past few years it's been like this. Thanks for the tip on the sash jammers griff - am going to get myself some of those. Not sure if I mentioned but I had the Talktalk engineer round earlier in the week. I'm getting 35Mb download speed on the ethernet connection, so he suggested it's probably my laptop and suggested a Wifi adapter, which I ordered and which arrived today. I've connected it and am getting 11Mb rather than less than 1Mb with the router in the hall, so much improved!
  17. Moaning Didn't sleep well Sunday night and was awake stupid o'clock yesterday morning ("stupid o'clock" for me is saying something since I consider getting up at 4am normal). Last night I fell asleep on the sofa at 7.30, woke up at 8.45, went to bed, was asleep again by 9.30 and woke up at 3.45.
  18. Been back to the vet (again) with Timmy. The scan was re-done, as were the blood tests. I'm waiting for her to call me with the results of the test, but there was no change on his spleen. She said she can see brighter patches on the scan, but they don't look like what she'd expect a malignant nasty to look like. So still no news and still waiting to decide whether to take his spleen out On the plus side, I had a letter from MoreThan saying they'd sent a cheque to the vet for £1450, so am relieved. You never know when you make the first claim with a company whether they are going to pay up or not.
  19. Moaning Lovely sunny day here today, although the ground is like a bog.
  20. Evening. Good boy Archie Work is horrendous at the moment - not helping when I feel pretty sh*te out of work. Have just been in tears on the phone to my boss I know I'm just having a wobble so will pull myself together next week. Timmy other bloods came back and the results were okay, nothing obvious to worry about. She's still worried about his spleen and the lesions/tumours, so he's going in AGAIN on Monday for another scan. Won't be able to tell if they are malignant with a scan but she'll be able to tell if there has been any increase in size. She could take his spleen out but it's a big operation when we don't know that there isn't actually anything wrong with it, so just playing it by ear at the moment. He's fine in himself still and has just gobbled down his tea and is now demanding cuddles
  21. Marion my ex husband was like that. He was 6ft and couldn't get over 13 stone, looked skinny as a rake. Mind you he was ruddy hyperactive and could never sit still. Timmy is okay but there just seems something 'off' about him. I don't know whether it's me being paranoid or what. I'm still waiting for the vet to ring me with the results of his blood tests. Might give them a ring now.
  22. Moaning February already - just stroll on March and spring.
