  1. Newsflash!

The lovely people at the campsite will be letting us use one of their fields so we have the following things to do.

    Saturday morning/early afternoon

    Mini agility

With awards for the best in each category - women, men and children

    Saturday afternoon

    Bring and Buy Sale

Please bring your pre-loved items or something shiny and new so we can hopefully raise a few more pennies for the dogs and all grab a bargain in the process!

    Saturday evening

    Independence Day BBQ

To celebrate with our American friends on 4th July, we're having a themed BBQ so dig out your stars and stripes, dress up as the Statue of Liberty and bring plenty of apple pie. Get into the spirit of things for the evening and go all American!

    :beerchug: :cheer:

  2. Oldies Club have just been asked to help a dog whose owner died suddenly but, very sadly, wasn't discovered for a week and his faithful dog sat by his side for the whole time.

Holly was very traumatised when they were found and had lost a lot of her hair. A relative took Holly home but can't keep her as he's now about to leave the country with work. Another family member has been trying to find her a home urgently as she is also going away. They'd just called the vets to book Holly in to be pts but was given our number in a final attempt to save her.

    Details:

    12/13 year old crossbreed

    Probably neutered

    Never been vaccinated

    Not microchipped

    CAN/HAS lived with a cat

Very good natured dog and good with children

Wags her tail at dogs when on walks then just goes about her business

Unfortunately, Holly needs some work and finds it very distressing to be left alone. I'm told that she was not like this before her previous owner died so hopefully with some reassurance and a good routine things could turn around for Holly.

If anyone thinks they can help, please PM me as soon as possible.

    Thanks.

Quick work but I've just heard that Holly is now safe and has been offered a home with someone that is able to spend some time working with her.

This can now be closed, thankfully!

  3. Sorry Kelly,

Being equally not on the ball, I just realised Ihaven't sent them yet

However, I have a craft day planned for Saturday where I hope to get your 'specials' done and will get all the rest out to you next week - sorry :flowers:

Marge - same applies to you, the anniversary card is nearly done and then all the rest will be posted next week :flowers:

    Consider me :axehead:

 Don't worry, they're really not urgent. Our post is chronically unreliable so wanted to check they hadn't been delivered to any random address nearby like lots of other items.

  4. Sorry, I know I don't get in here very often anymore but saw this and just had to post.

I've always ordered from Healthwize but was really disappointed when I didn't hear back from them regarding a possible refund on my unopened bottle. I'd previously had emails from before ordering because I was querying the white willow bark content.

Yesterday, I had to take Pixie to the vet because I'd been applying Fuciderm but she'd got into a cycle of irritation and licking, which was making it worse. I came away £79 worse off, with more Fuciderm, antibiotics and steroids. Furthermore my vet agreed that it looked like a classic allergy problem.

I've just emailed Healthwize again

  5. I'm absolutely bowled over! You ladies and the lovely dogs have done brilliantly, I hope you're very very proud of yourselves.

I've got my fingers crossed for a busy week ahead with enquiries too. It's very exciting to think who might be sat at home now looking at our website for the first time or discussing fostering/adopting :elefant:

Thank you all so much :liebe94: I'll be in touch again about the next one as Cher suggested

  6. This might sound odd but I went to a nursery shop yesterday and there was loads and loads of really pretty bunting for sale. I loved it! But I then started to wonder if anyone would actually buy it and what would they use it for

There's a lot of it for sale on the internet and it's looks so much fun for decorating children's bedrooms. My sister in law said she'd bought some for my niece's room but is she the minority or majority? I love making pretty girly things but there were some really fun ones for boys too in pirate patterns :)

Mel, have you twisted Harriet's arm for a photo of her secrets box? My list of ideas is growing but my know-how is much less expanded

  7. We benefit in other ways too though. It always helps to get our name out there so when you're wearing a top and are standing in a queue in the supermarket, someone might remember seeing the web address and go home to look at it. Or when you're walking your dog around the park in the little doggy t-shirts, it's a great talking point.

Wear your OC clothing proudly as you'll be helping raise awareness each time you step outside of the house

  8. that's not a table runner that's clearly a cat bed...maybe you should buy a table runner too if you like them

Ted and Gus neeeeeed to come and live with me

    Gorgeous, aren't they!

Thanks for the lovely comments and the great ideas, it's definitely given me some ideas to think about developing. I already have stockings on my list for nearer Christmas. If I were like Tesco, I'd start putting them on my website from August

More ideas are always welcome so if you think of anything else, please shout :flowers:
