  1. Come and coach me and Spanish Madam Anne! Clare- Loki can work really, really well when he wants to, he has a nice outline when he applies himself, he is listening more to you, but still has difficulty concentrating for the full test - it will come. Not such an awful test, and you sat the spook very well, don't feel too downhearted. I went to play with my new Spanish boy yesterday. He backed up, came forward and we did a couple of lateral moves too. We also had lots of cuddles and scritches - he is a lovely Little Chap. Not bad for 12 weeks old hey?

Hi Muriel, Tealigh worse today BUT I went up there yesterday and I was coughing and wheezing as I am asthmatic but so mildy as to not be bothered by it? Co-incidence or something really nasty in the air?

Poor Tealigh is no better. but at least she is no worse. The vet is not hopeful at all, he has one last thing to try which is a combination of steroids and a bronchodilator for horses called ventopulmin. Her little colt is just 8 weeks old and vet says he will have to be weaned early ( 4 months) but then Tealigh will have to be kept going for another 8 weeks... Muriel - thank you so much, I think in this case you might be preparing Tealigh for a peaceful passing, but whilst there is life there is hope. If my friend is interested in Reiki, then can I put her in contact with you please? I feel I might like to learn to, if only to help animals.
  4. fanks Clare. No, not ridden Cueva. I have yard 'issues' which quite frankly are doing my head in and I need to move. Easier said than done!
  5. Lovely photos as usual Anne! Just thought I would post a milestone for me. I HACKED OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 7 YEARS! I have had a hacking phobia following my accident in August 2000, seven years to the day I went out and did a 2 hour hack on a 13.2 Icelandic, roadwork and fields. OK, so I didn't do any cantering or anything too scary but this is a huge achievement for me - these small hairy horses are my saviours!

Thanks Muriel <hug> Tealigh responded to the original Reiki but has become really poorly for the past few days. The vet is seeing her tomorrow, it may not be good news. If the Reiki works this time, Karen her owner says she will train to be a Reiki healer and help others. I am seeing Tealigh on Saturday - I will update as soon as I can.

Please please can I have some more reiki for Tealigh the Spanish mare with a young foal at foot. None of the veterinary treatments have helped her, the homeopathic medicine has not helped, and Tealigh is really poorly with her breathing again. Her little boy foal is only two months old, he can't lose his mum just yet.
  8. Buy Heather Moffett's 'Enlightened Equitation' or come and join us on EE - much helpful advice and support and full of mad old bags like myself!
  9. Wow! Clare! Mr Loki can certainly work properly when he wants to, half way through the video his jaw relaxes and he goes into self carriage beautifully, working from behind and rounding and softening through his back. However, he does seem a tad distractable and is trying to see everything that is going on, as well as working for you, what a genuine boy! Your position - well your arms are a bit straight and as such are causing tension through your shoulders and causing a bit of hand wobble, your lower legs are a bit unstable, but I don't know if that is partly becuase you having to keep Loki going. Your legs are forward of the vertical as Pendlewitch said, but that may be the fault of your saddle not you! Loki has nice cadence for such a young novice and big horse. Hard to believe this is the same gawky awkward lanky unloved soul you bought a year ago, really proud of you both.

Quick update on Tealigh from my friend Karen who owns her: ""I can honestly say she was the best last night that she's been for a while!!!!! Her rasping had eased so much it was hard to hear. Although she was still breathing fast, I don't think it was as bad, and it didn't see to be quite such an effort for her. Spooky or what? Seems odd to me that it should suddenly improve after the Reiki."

Muriel - Friend is on to the homeopathy, will ask her what treatment has been recommended. An AC would not hurt too - in fact will try anything to help Tealigh and her baby. Tealigh is such a lovely girl, feisty but kind. She has lost so much weight since that photo was taken and she struggles to breathe. Thank you

Please can I have Reiki healing for my friend's chestnut Andalusian mare Tealigh. She has collapsed with severe breathing problems. The vet is just about keeping her comfortable on huge doses of steroids, but she is not really repsonding to the treatment. She has just had a foal, a little colt. If she cannot be cured please can she have enough Reiki to keep her comfortable and sustain her until her little foal is old enough to fend for himself? Then we can let Tealigh go with peace and dignity. Her foal is called 'Legacy'.
  13. Beautiful Twinnies! Hope mum is fine and it is not an infection, Bless her. Bradders you are forthwith expelled from the Nervous Nellies club, as is Jackysian! I am now the only member.
  14. Saturdayish??? I am just busy packing the rest of my things - do you think toetector riding boots will set off the alarms too much??? Ooooooo I am so excited! I also seem to be the only survivor and longest-standing member of the Nervous Nellies Club the rest of you are all so brave and doing marvellous things! I have a way to go yet...
  15. Teehee! Not saying nuffink yet! Two more sleeps until Spain..... How is your new saddle Jackysian - have you tried it on the KaneMeister yet? Cueva has a Heather Moffett synthetic Thoroughgood and I love it! Just need it until I get my Spanish saddle - damn I ruined the surprise . Bradders - you can never have too many Spanish horses, If Sarah was interested in some VERY good Lusitanos (fully papered and registered) I have my friend in Portugal, nearly bought a super stallion from her, snip at £3.5K.
  16. Will post on Saturday - there may be the odd photo or two. Clare - I am so proud of you and Loki, you are doing so well. He was the right horse after all!
  17. Everyone is doing so well with their horses - you are all stars Norty Mist is off to Malaga for 24 hours this Thursday. Why would Norty Mist do that?
  18. WoW! Evita is absolutely stunning! She is going to make some horse. She looks a Bold, Bad Girl, Roberta is soooo much daintier (but with rather lovely legs and a good neck). I just adore foals and want to squidge them and love them.
  19. Cueva is doing really, really well! I am soooooooo proud of her we have been doing clicker training and she is just brilliant. Little Chap has similar breeding to Cueva, and his daddy is a dressage horse who has produced Champion babies. More importantly both Mariquita and Lengueto have fabulous temperaments. Karen also owns Mariquita's half brother Espiritu who Dolly went to. Espiritu is a really laid back kind of chap, very cuddly and sweet natured. So now I have my Spanish Stud - need to finalise my breeder's registration...
  20. OK, OK! My friend Karen breeds part-bred Spanish horses, last year she bought Mariquita, the bay PRE mare in the photo, who was already in foal to a PRE stallion called Lengueto V. Karen and I always joked that if the resulting foal was bay and a colt he would be mine. Soooooooooo... Last weekend Mariquita produced a beautiful, bay baby boy! Sooooooooooooooooooo..... HE IS MINE!!!!! I so wanted a bay Baroque Boy and Little Chap (he has not got a name yet) is exactly what I ordered!
  21. Close, very close.... Oh go on then..
  22. None of mine are up the duff...
  23. <nods head> definitely Iberian An awful lot to think about....
  24. Mist may have a new surprise...... Not entirely definite yet but looking pretty certain.... Watch this space.....
