  1.  what a clever and lovely pair of dogs, I do like to see obedient dogs x

   Yeah I do to....not seen any for years at my place though!!!!

:flowers: Well done Sarah, he's a credit to you and the kids. (Have to admit though I was the same as you and totally shocked how easy poopies are to train when I got Sidney!! I was so used to naughty holligans!! )

  2. Your vet sounds great!

I was very lucky to get the practice owner this time I went (usually you never know who it will be) and he's a fantastic bloke! He was the man that paid for all the cost involved when we liberated (nicked) the welsh terrier a few years ago that had been savaged by a badger (we think) and was on deaths door, and also wouldn't take a penny off me when foster dog Bear broke his leg. He's a proper old fashioned vet, swears alot and stinks of fags but loves dogs and won't let anyone tell him he can't mend something!!!

  3. Sorry no pictures until we both look like we know what we are doing (so never!!)

Glad Wanda is sound again. Seems she needs some work and fast!!

Kane is fine thanks Sarah, he's looking a tad on the podgy side after my panics over him looking flea bitten and thin!!! He's been told now that as I've started paying for haylage his hard feed is being knocked right back to a handful to put his supplements in...don't think he believed me last night, he will later when he see's the tiny feed I've prepared!!!

He too will be holding a meeting with Mr Clippers in the next few days...he's sweating up very quickly so I'm going to start with a belly and neck, as he's field kept I don't want to take too much off..should be fun as I've never clipped him before!!!

  4. That's a lovely post Sarah. I know very well it's all too easy to get dragged down by what's happening, and even easier to forget those around you.

I believe 100% that you get back what you give in life, so the fact you have such wonderful family and friends just goes to show you deserve them. :flowers: :flowers:

  5. I'm sorry to be here asking for your thoughts again. I've not been as active recently on the board, mainly because of the loss of my special girl but around the same time I discovered a couple of lumps on Cooper. Now he has always been a lumpy bumpy wonky boy so I didn't panic but when they started to change I popped him into the vets. Unfortunately it appears they are mast cell tumors so while they are cancerous they are, according to my extreamly positive vet, 'nothing whatsoever to be getting in a mess over!'

He's due in next week to have to have the masses removed and have some scans and tests to make sure it's not spread. He's eating like a little horse and is certainly no different in himself so again my vet has said he's sure he'll be fine.

Anyone who has met Cooper will tell you what a happy sweet little fella he is, and the vet absolutely adores him so he's said 'failure is not an option', Cooper will have the full works thrown at him if that's what it takes. Looks like my new garden will be on hold as the funds will be transferred to my boy but hey..who needs a nice garden when all it does it rain!!!

I'm actually coping fine with all this, it's Cooper that could do with your healing thoughts please, I don't know what Sidney will do without his yappy, snappy pal to boing about with on walks!!

  6. You are so right about BS, I had alot of their products given to me at Xmas by well meaning people who know of my ethics, I obviously didn't tell them right there and then but I've made sure my family know I no longer want anything to do with BS. I was absolutely gutted when she did that, I had always looked up to her as a strong minded business woman with ethics and felt very let down (also their vanilla the only perfume I could tolerate so I now have no nice smell!!  )

  7. We've had a girl at work doing Avon for years and she's made a very good profit out it , BUT only today she's said that her orders have dropped dramatically and she's had a lot of complaints that the products have gone very expensive!! They have to pay for the posh advertising they've been doing recently some how!! She's seriously thinking of stopping..shame but looks like another company getting greedy. :glare:

  8. Definately depends on the dogs you have and the dog you are taking on.

I went from just Tiz and Cromwell (2 very very difficult dogs) and added Sidney (the perfect poopie!!) and found it absolutely no problem at all. I loved having 3 dogs and fine it a really nice number to deal with. That said Sidney is exceptionally easy (well except for his hyperactive nature and lamb hatred), if he'd been a handful to train or wasn't so good off lead I think it would be a different story! In the same way Cooper is a very easy dog to live with so I don't find 4 any more work than the original 2.

The only problem I have is because 3 of them can sometimes react to other dogs I have to get them on lead if I see someone coming and it's quiet hard getting 3 on quickly!! I wish all 4 were like Sidney, completely dog/cat/people friendly...what an easy life I'd lead!!!

  9. Jacky how did the jumping lesson go on Friday?

Oh good thanks. I seriously need some balance though!!! We didn't do alot of actual jumping, poor Kane was on his knee's by the end and I was abit John Wayne after as well!!!  Instructor said that he's got huge potential...and I will need to work very hard to keep up with him!!! There is a 'possibility' he'll be going hunting when the season starts, I'm still not ready to do it but someone on the yard wants to go and his horse isn't up to it, so he's asked if he can take Kane! I'm not 100% sure but I know Kane will love it so need to think about it.

Watched some JumpCross on the tv the other night, I really really really want to try it!! The intro group looks ideal for me!!

  10. Mine are odd...they don't ask for walks!!! Mine are pretty good at waiting til I'm ready, although I tend to walk them as soon as I get up and when I get in it's straight out again so I guess they don't have to ask.

Sidney boings all the time anyway and the other 3 don't tend to react until I go to the leads, then all hell breaks loose!!!  Sidney gets into a major panic if he doesn't have a toy in his mouth and will run riot until he finds one!! The other 3 just run around and generally get on my nerves cos I can't catch any to put the leads on, it usually ends up with me having to yell and then they calm down!!!

They don't really have a walk routine and at the weekends will happily wait for me to have food and drink before we go out, I think they know it's weekend meaning they'll get a much longer better walk so it's worth the wait!!
