  1. She who dares.................wins

    well mostly.

I have been reading the thread and it's obvious to me, humble opinion that I have, that you are really concerned for Dane, after reading his story, I can see why. What a heartbreaker.

So, if you never try, you will never know.

If you try and it doesn't work ( it will, you sound like a wondeful person ) then at least you will have tried.

BTW I don't think they are called padded pj's I believe they are called, extra insulated leisurewear, with handy wrap-a-round sleeves, accessorized with cute little buckles and belts. But again, I could be wrong.

All the very best, let us know how it goes.

Lucky Dane, he's caught your eye.

  2. I wasn't trying to make it a race issue.

The point I was trying to make, and poorly, is that there are many people who get something for nothing in this country, and I cannot blame this family for taking what they are given.

There is no incentive for them to do different.

But I stand by my comment that many people don't have pride anymore.

At theend of the day, as long as they aren't allowed to buy this house at a ridicously low price and then be allowed to sell it in the future for much gain. Hopefully somebody else will gain the benifit eventually.

  3. I can understand neither of them working, what would be the point?

But.........we do make it too easy for people. Those who live here and those who are refugees etc.

We are in a position of earning too much to get help, but not earning enough that it is a struggle. We are 'just below' help for dental, opticians, prescriptions, etc.

We pay our taxes, including road tax etc. are up to date with insurance, yet so MANY people don't bother. And we all know who they are.

These people should contribute somehow, if the guy earns £350 a month at Asda, reduce his benefits by the same.

It makes my blood boil that I like many others, work hard long hours, whilst lazy people like this get it all.

There's no pride. Britain is losing it's pride. If I am patriotic I would get accused of being racist.

Bring back National service. let everyone who lives here contribute to the country, unless they REALLY can't.

  4. What a beautiful dog.

    I understand your pain.

The more you love, the more it hurts, but you can not love because it hurts.

He was the most gorgeous dog, you were so lucky to know him and for him to know you.

I'm so very sorry he has left you, and I'm so very sorry you hurt so much.

He was magnificent, thank you for sharing these pictures with us.

One day you will look back and the memories will make you smile, until then....it's okay to cry, really it is.

  5. Hi Julie

    Thanks very much.

I would like to think that Pete approves.

As for Arnie, upon my word, he has a new red collar with bones around it, and a smart black and leather lead to go with it.

I will email Cindy a pic so she can put it on here when she has time.

He's a cutie, the MOST independant dog I have ever known.

    Bless

    Watch this space

  6. Thinking of you all.

Knowing that you loved them both so much.

Thank you for making them happy.

Saluting you for your wonderful caring nature and sending you a warm hug :GroupHug:

  7. We are so lucky, he's very vocal which is fine, he's settling more, and FULL of energy.

He is going to be called Arnie, due to the fact he makes an Ar Ar noise a lot.............lol

    Plus OH likes action movies.

He is getting his MOT on saturday, then hopefully a new collar and lead

Of course I shall email Cindy the pics of Arnie wearing his new attachments.

He is just beginning to respond to the sound of my voice, I suspect he will answer to his name .........eventually.

Glad you like him, I'm so pleased we took him in.

By the way his nickname is Chance, but don't tell OH :evil3:

  8. Im nearly ready to go and get him, infact I am ready, just waiting for the 'correct' time to go.

He has no name at present, front runners are.........

  9. That is the saddest thing I've read for a while.

Thank goodness your friend gave Jessie quality of life.

Please tell your friend that it's people like her, that help people like me.

Run free and out of pain Jessie, see the bridge, chase the butterflies. Feel the breeze.

  10. He's coming to us, he's coming to us

    Wow, I'm so excited.

    Really can't wait.

Everybody has been wonderful, it just goes to show that there are many many kind people about.

Thanks to everyone helping us to get him

    :GroupHug:

  11. He's coming to us, he's coming to us.

We are very pleased to have him, really can't wait. If he wasn't so far away I'd drive down today and get him

I can only say how lucky I am to have such support from my OH.

We shall let you know when / how he gets here, and of course his name.

  12. There are many awful smells.

    Body odour

    Garlic

    Unclean teeth

    Botty burps

    Curry breath etc etc etc

Smoking is an unclean habit, but at least you can 'see' that smell and avoid it. other smells can grab you by the throat ( literally ) and ruin your day / eve.

I stopped smoking in August 2005 because I won't be told what to do, however, the freedom to smoke is also licence for a freedom to give someone lung cancer via passive smoking. So sorry guys, smokers have had their day. it's the non smokers turn now.
