  1. Ooh good luck with the jump I have been to town and replenished Oscars supply of fluffy balls cos he loves playing with them and gets all depressed when he's ate them
  2. Oscar does cute - he's worked out it's a great way to get his Dad to fuss him lots
  3. Morning  I have a black eye - i'd forgotten how much boxers like to wave their clodhopping great feet in your face and how they have all the co ordination of an elephant on acid Great news Alicia  Jazz Tis baking hot here already
  4. Wishing your Mum a dignified and peaceful passing Jazz Hope Rays Dad continues to improve Baby wood pigeon Oscar says thankyou for his welcome, I cannot describe just how shut down and thin and so so scared of everythin he was when he arrived He has the most sensitive belly and after trial and error he is on Royal Canin Boxer puppy food - he quite simply can't have any treats or his backend turns into a power washer of the vile kind He is still very hand shy but is getting braver by the day and loves his big brother lots He is utterly terrified of the lead and collapses in a shivering heap when he sees one, I have no words to describe what I think of the 3 homes he had before here that made him this way but he has all the time in the world now to know that not all people are to be feared and that some are suckers that will give him everything he could want
  5. Sorry I haven't been about for a while, we have an unexpected new addition to the family and between him and his issues and work I haven't had any time to do anything :O Have noticed lots of sad folk need Hope all relatives improve or pass peacefully as appropriate Please meet Oscar - he arrived 10 weeks ago as an 8 month old, totally shut down and terrified of everything. He has clearly not been treated gently in his short life and was painfully thin but as you will see from the 2nd pic is coming on nicely now
  6. No I can't have a guide dog as you have to be able to walk for a min 45 mins a day and some days I can't stand at all - tis fine though I manage just great with my cane when I use it properly that is
  7. I have no chance of catching up so help yourself as needed :yay: This weeks top tip: If you should happen to be blind and be running a bit late for your bus I would strongly advise against running to get there in time - you will be moving faster than your cane can and 'may' find that you run straight into the side of a car reversing into a driveway, you 'may' also find that bouncing straight back up and making the bus leaves your mobile phone laying in the road where you fell and that you have to get off the bus and go crawling in the gutter to find it
  8. Jazz Sam :yay: have a fantastic time This working lark is fun - today my random speech called some poor customer a stupid fart when what I meant to say was he was a super star Luckily he took it well and laughed Some of my colleagues are a little bemused by my random speech impediment as it is improving all the time but will blurt out totally odd things just when it's all going well to remind me that the brain cell is still malfunctioning
  9. Not had chance to read back so help yourself :yay: :yippee: as needed I got my first pay in nearly 3 years yesterday so today we went to town and had a lovely time spending it  I did get a yankee candle reed diffuser thingy in clinton cards and a new rug and lots of treats and toys for Benji and Charlie and a new game for hubby and a steam cleaner for the floors. Was most nice to be spending 'my money' for a change  I was all grown up and sensible too and set up a standing order so that some of my wages goes straight into the savings account before we can get used to having the extra cash each week Note: when carrying all the above through a packed shopping centre you may accidentally take out several people and one or two stupid dispays in the middle of the walkways :mask:
  10. I bet that was one of those things you can't help but laugh at if you happen to see it My rather wonderful hubby is in the kitchen making me a lemon drizzle cake
  11. Good luck to those visiting or enquiring about dogs Have fun collecting the shed Nigel How are you ribs today Owl Hope you are beinning to make sense of the overload of information now Snow I could've had a lie in this morning - so why was I wide awake at 7
  12. Lots of for Snow, Nigel, Owl & Mummy Owl, Griff and anyone my brain has forgot Sight and hearing are very precious so do what you are told to preserve them as long as possible - Owl you can tell your mum from me that being blind when you used to have sight is not fun and she will be most miserable especially if it was preventable I have worked 4 full days this week - I never thought I would be able to do full time again and am most chuffed to say that it has been fab and I have had no major problems
  13. I know nothing about drains Hope you find the dogs you are looking for I have been to work and got 8 hours pay for doing nothing and will be doing the same for the rest of the week :smug:
  14. Nigel Glad all animals and properties have survived the storm with just minor scares The GingerBoy is refusing to leave the sofa incase I attach and lead to him and make him go out in the soggy stuff
  15. They could've at least given you a courtesy response even if it's to let you know they are swamped Jules Hubby is taking me out to celebrate tonight - to the same pub where I wandered into the gents and then parked myself at some random table - I hope they have short memories
  16. I am officially sad as I have seen all of them The one where Nick is in a box as you put it is really good! I prefer NCIS, Bones and Criminal Minds but watch all of them except CSI Miami cos Horatio's voice drives me nuts - see told you I am sad
  17. Hope the gremlin lets you get some rest Alicia I have got my offer letter - tis all official that I am now an employed person  Hubby is taking me out tonight to celebrate, that will be twice we've been out already this year - we are in danger becoming like normal people
  18. Don't forget to take care of yourself too Sam - you do fantastic work but won't be much help if you get sick or injured
  19. Thankyou all, I will be a complaints handler which is similar to what I used to get pay wise without the management grade so less responsibility which is win-win me thinks - get to do what I am good at without being responsible for a team of people too
  20. Well done Alex, now all you need is some of the confidence we all have in you Good Luck Jules Hubby has installed TomTom onto my phone and pre set our home address so that I can't get lost when out anymore - look out world i'm on my way :yay:
  21. Good luck with the packing Mrs B Transposing the R & U in my name was done by a director in my former company - he never lived it down and I was forever known as Mrs Turdi from that day Interview went well I think - wait and see now, thanks for the good wishes No one is telling me I have to go to work, in fact I have been told that I am too disabled to be able to work which is like a red flag to a bull for me - I refuse to be limited by other peoples expectations (plus the extra cash will come in very handy and i'm a stubborn cow)
  22. Morning all, Happy February I am sure you will have passed with flying colours Alex I have an interview today, I have lost count of the number of interviews I have had since I was made redundant 2 years ago - why do employers find it so hard to believe that I am capable of performing well in a role with my disabilities - I just need someone to give me a chance but it is very disheartening to keep getting rejected
  23. Steve Davis  Enjoy your day off Alex I have nothing to do today so why did I wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 5 :O I watched the curious case of Benjamin Button this morning - I blubbed like a baby at the end
  24. I am suffering from a bad case of foot in mouth - I took fruit cake #2(cake #1 had a bit of an accident after I forgot to put the bottom back in the tin after greasing it and poured cake mix everywhere when I went to put it in the oven) and a bereavement card round to neighbour (he found his wife dead in the toilet Tues morning), he opens door and I shove it at him and he asked somewhat incredulously if I had made it myself............. To which I replied......... Yes and it's ok we have one too, it won't kill you or anything!! I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me whole, luckily he saw the funny side and said i'm a tonic
