  1. I think the recession is affecting a lot of rescues, ESSW are certainly feeling it, we to have some lovely dogs of all ages looking for homes, I'm pretty sure a few of them would normally have been in new homes by now and if its affecting our healthy young dogs getting placed one can only wonder how this will hurt the older dogs.
  2. helathy chocolate, I will be so watching the oldies forum come January, you've got meso excited, good to see you back again. Ummm from someone who suffers from fibromyalgia I sooo know what brain fog is like, I've got post its stuck on top of post its and I'm not joking. In fact I think brain fog should be made compulsory.
  3. I can't rate it enough, we went walking up on Dartmoor this afternoon and it absolutely chucked it down and the wind was howling, the top of the coat looked drenched but underneath not a drop got through and Ollie felt nice and warm to touch, They might be quite pricey compared to some coats but they are definitely waterproof and windproof, great for oldies who are getting a bit thin and need to be kept warm on walks.
  4. It's a hurrta coat, I have to say they are an excellent fit and really great quality, he doesn't mind wearing it one bit because it's so well fitting for him with lots of adjustment.
  5. Just to prove he can still run fast enough to beat the camera when he wants to I'm so pleased with it and I think he is to.
  6. Did you get the crates after buying the van, would you mind pm'ing me what they cost and where you got them from please?
  7. we've now seen a mercedez vito, loved it, but think once we'd bought the van we couldn't afford to get the crates to fit it . Also now considering a renault traffic as this is about the same size and parts would be cheaper, someone else has recommended the vw transporter but also think this is out of my price range, way out in fact. Sarah, don't be jealous we haven't got it yet, it's still a dream for us to, the ideal would be someone who already has the crates fitted and needs to sell it cheap cause they have got something else lined up themselves, some hope I expect.
  8. That sounds like a good recommendation, thank you.
  9. can 4 crates, 2 stacked on top of two fit in a berlingo or are we better off going with the merc vito or dispatch which has got the slidey side doors for all the doggy essentials (crap) that you need when you live multi dog lives Anyone got any of the above and can provide photos and/or crate sizes so i can compare please. OH wants the vito, but I'm worried it just might be to big for little old me to drive and I like the look of the dispatch but not sure how big the crates would be and wether they would be big enough for four good sized springer's. HELP I hate car/van shopping when there's so much to think about.
  10. It's nice and a very good price, I think Ollie needs something that is going to wrap under his chest though.
  11. That is a seriously impressive dog coat and just happens to be Ollie's size Am watching with interest.
  12. How stretchy is it though, I think I might struggle to get Ollie into it, he's a bit wonky now being an old man and trying to bend his leg up and in might not be a good idea
  13. I need to get Ollie a new dog coat, one that will help keep the warmth in around the chest and keep him dry, I love the style of these but wondered if anyone has used either and what the quality was like. Outhwaite with padded chest V Danish Design with chest covering Or have you seen any other makes with a similar style that you can recommend
  14. oooo Kelsey I knew I should have snaffled you, she's simply adorable isn't she Michelle and already really attached to Trish.
  15. Suppose I'd better pay some cash, now off to find that link. Well Done Trish, I couldn't even contemplate thinking about doing what you've just done, you're a star.
  16. Trish has finished the walk and I'm waiting for her to call in now, she should be here any minute.
  17. oh God, please let that be the end of all the trauma, justr a few days left Trish, I hope Paddy gets to you soon.
  18. This isn't the first dog that has joined her on her walk and she's stopped to help, bless her, hope she gets it sorted as I know she was really pushing to get finished next week.
  19. Hmmmmmmmmmm would really like to be there for this but is the day after Rob's birthday and we have a night out booked with family, will get my thinking cap on just in case.
  20. Trish told me all about a very nice grey that popped up in the middle of a gorse bush mid walk, sounded hysterical, typically she couldn't get the camera ready in time, I would have loved to have seen it Victoria
  21. OMG How special is that rainbow? Well, Trish is on her final leg of Devon today, we had a short walk with her this morning and left her to walk the streets of Plymouth to finish her last piece of Devon for the walk and sadly it's raining. I hope you don't get to wet Trish and it's been great spending some time with you this week, fingers crossed the weather is fair to you for the last couple of weeks, and don't forget everyone else if there is anyone in Cornwall that can help Trish with moving the van so she doesn't have to do double stretches she would be very grateful I'm sure. A little pic of Rufus 'helping' Trish to finish her mapping of the Cornwall leg.
