  1. I have no problem with children in restaurants at lunch time or early evening. I don't particularly like it in the evenings though when the kids are tired and crabby. If no one takes their children out, how will they ever learn? I don't expect to be subjected to children screaming and running around and their parents just ignoring it all- thats just plain bad manners to me.
  2. Oh wow! What's Chertsey like to live in? Ideally we would move someone more rural, but we just can't afford it and still be witih a decent commuting distance for Colin (and me). Decent walks nearby?
  3. Oh Amber hope things work out for you for Marion and George too
  4. Ooohhh where do you live Karen? At the moment we are in Feltham
  5. look at the time! Its waaaaay past my bedibyes night night
  6. There is a tree actually there are a few that have been newly planted, I have a bet going with Colin as to how long they will last Apparently some of the houses across the road have been sold to a developer who has applied for permission to knock them down and build an "executive estate of 6 4 bedroom houses" This has also meant that our house if very marketable at the moment (apparently), good for us cos I hate hate hate it here. I don't understand 1) why people would want to live here generally, although I guess I did once 2) why executive people would want to live here, inbetween the new high street what is being built and a 50's estate I am looking forward to spending next week painting and then putting our house on the market. We are thinking of moving here a compromise between where I would like to be, and where we can afford to be.
  7. Sam, I am not jealous one little bit, no not me This is the view from my front door - lovely as you can see
  8. I want to live near something like that. Snot fair living here - stupid people and their stupid houses - its not I tell you Although according to my reading Vashti just sent the dogs would prefer the beach to the woods
  9. If he understands it in some positions, try just shifting slightly. - so from facing him turn slightly away maybe just a degree or two and build up from there. Its just like when you would "proof" a normal cue - change body language/position in room/relative to dog etc to make sure your dog *really* knows it and can perform it regardless of what you are doing. Not sure if that makes sense to anyone else - I know what I'm talking about
  10. I'm Kelly and live with husband Col and 2 GSDs, Khanu 2.5yrs and Willow 3yrs. Hopefully we will be moving out of Feltham soon (I really don't like it here anymore), not moving very far away sadly as we can't afford it, but far enough away to have nearer walks for the dogs and a slightly quieter home life. Col is a BTP officer on the underground and I'm a consultant engineer. I'm toying with the idea of doing this for a little bit longer then getting contract work with the idea of going self employed and working from home. My dream is to live somewhere like a small holding and become self sufficient, but semi rural is goal for the next 5 years (has to be semi unless I convice Col to put in for a transfer - very unlikely as he loves his job).
