Whilst someone was interested in Penny sadly it wasn't the right time for them, which makes me feel dreadful as they had enquired about her before and I missed it- if only I'd seen their first enquiry...........However, just a quick update, Penny is still looking and the family are getting slightly stressed and nervous due to the amount of lambs in their area. So if anyone could offer her a home or rescue back up I'd be very grateful.

Hooge apologies I seem to have missed asnwers again- I think I need to check my settings on the board as I'm sure I used to get emails. Arrgghh!! I hate it when people put posts up and don't reply. Sorry guys!! And to think I may have missed some homes. Anyway, I did lose touch as Penny and her owner moved out of the area, she is now living in sheep country and is fairly miserable. She has been refused rescue places at DT as the owner has been told she isn't dog friendly- now I haven't seen this dog for months, but the last time I saw her the owner said the same thing and there is nothing to suggest she isn't dog friendly at all. The owner is resigned to the fact that Penny will stay with her as she can't rehome her- and DT turned her down, and fears the day she escapes and is shot by a farmer. She says she won't PTS however, if stress levels rise and Penny is unhappy then there's no saying it won't come. I shall contact everyone above and her owner and get back to you all.

Sadly Penny's owner is moving to an area where there will be lots of sheep and cattle, and she is fearful that she won't be able to keep Penny and/or the livestock safe. Her owner has asked the vet for help- all he suggested was euthanasia which is the same as what her friends say. I am going away tomorrow for 3 weeks- so the timing of this post is bad, BUT I just needed to put it up just in case someone can wave a magic wand and get this little girl to a more relaxed environment, where I know for sure she will be safe. If anyone can offer any advice or suggestions I'll follow them up when I get back. The lady is moving in September, no date was given, so she will be safe for sure until then.

I can't believe I missed the above post on the 9th Of Dec. May be I was looking at the old board?? Anyway, I have been in constant contact with Penny's owner and she did continue to try and train her, but I honestly don't think she's the right person to do it - I think she's been ill advised by dog trainers telling her Penny is untrainable !! So whilst things did settle down I'm afraid things have come to a head again, and Penny is actively seeking a new home. Her owner has always said to me "well if you could try for me" but things are progressing now, her owner is struggling and really wants her to go to someone who can train her. The main thing is recall- she daren't let her off lead, and consequently Penny is always full of energy- she sees a dog and she gets giddy- to me it's nothing more than that. I think a trainer has told her she is dog aggressive- so why she was trying to get in my car containing 4 dogs with her tail wagging I don't know.

Penny is a small to medium sized crossbreed who is sadly looking for a new home as her current owner is having problems with her training and recall. This is what she says: The lady has had Penny for approx 4 years and has persisted in trying to train her in this time, it is her first dog- so someone with more experience may be able to train her! She is also a high energy dog- and I feel the combination of being left during the day, then being unable to be let off lead on a regular basis is perpetuating the problem. There has recently been an incident where Penny chased some sheep- this has resulted in the final decision to rehome her. Her owner really feels she has done her best and isn't doing either herself or Penny any favours. The thing that is a worry is her friends at work have said that she should have the dog PTS because "passing the dog on is only passing the problem on" Penny's owner feels this may be true, and that she will just be making problems for the new owners- I have persuaded her that if someone rehomes her they have taken her on knowing her problems, and that someone with experience will be able to train her. She's a black crossbreed who's fully grown and I know she'll get overlooked so please someone help this happy little girl-rescue back up welcomed!!! Her owner has asked for help and knows I have put her on here.

I find this very sad To me this isn't owning a dog, and this is one of the things about the industry.

I'm sure it will be comfy for them, but memory foam is meant to be very warm. Some people at work found them too hot and didn't like the mattresses.

Sorry I've been off line today. Thanks for the offer, I would be very grateful for some advocate. The people who have him now say he's fine with other dogs, and didn't bat an eyelid when we went into the vets with another dog there (so I guess they're telling the truth) He was fine with a rather rude lab, who had a rude owner- he just wagged his tail. He's very friendly towards people too. The young couple who got him from the abusive owners let her mum look after him- so we know he's been fed for 2 mths, but has remained thin, and has diarrhoea. I have no reason to suspect parvo- no blood, no smell, he'd be dead after 2 mths!!!, and his temp is ok, he's bright in himself. He's thin, so they give him rich dog food, and a pkt of digestive biscuits to feed him up. We're sure the diarrhoea is diet related, vet can't see anything wrong. I gave then some bland food, and told them just to give him that, so they did, with crab sticks- because I said fish is easy to digest. So you see, they are trying their hardest, but don't really know what to do. Despite the crab sticks, he hasn't had diarrhoea for 48 hrs- since he's been put on the bland food (but he also fasted for his op so didn't eat last night) The vet has also scraped some skin from his face as it was scabby, she couldn't see any mites so thinks it's just a dermatitis thing, but suggests to be on the safe side he's treated with advocate- but they have no money and it's £22. He is a lovely friendly lad, who just nuzzles you for attention.
