  1. Awww bless - she's beautiful Welcome home Poppy - you've got yourself a lovely new home there
  2. Alicia - sending you lots of You have such a lot going on for you and it appears that the rest of the family are not giving YOU much support. Hope they can get mum into hospital quickly and give her the transfusion. Maybe while she is in the hospital is the time to speak to the docs there and see if they can 'persuade' her to go to the hospice or accept more help You are in danger of making yourself ill and that will help no one, least of all your mum
  3. Well done Vonny - that's an excellent weight loss
  4. Sorry life is so sh*te for you at the moment Alicia It's a tough time for all of us when our parents get very sick and are approaching the end and we ladies do seem to have to do more of the not so nice jobs and also support all of those around us :GroupHug:
  5. Firstly, well done on quitting the cigarettes Mags Not an easy thing to do. I'm not really the right person to say whether your diet is OK or not but you certainly do better than me for the snacking - just one of my downfalls lol And I know swimming is excellent exercise for those with any sort of musculo-skeletal problems as the water supports your weight. So I think you're doing a blooming fantastic job Mags
  6. Well done Sandra - fantastic start I'm just getting myself organised and started Andrea. I know I have to do this as my weight is starting to affect health problems that I already have One of the biggest difficulties for me right at the moment is that I have a lot of issues to deal with - am trying to sort out a nursing home placement for mum which isn't proving that easy as it has to be a place that is also dementia registered and will accept LA funding in payment. She is in hospital at present and has been there for 6 weeks now, she was in hospital for 7 weeks early in the New Year as well. It's all phone calls back and forth between social workers, care homes, visits to care homes etc. And my usual way of dealing with such stress is to eat as I don't drink or smoke But maybe that's just me trying to find excuses for my lack of willpower Will let you know how the first week goes - I'm not expecting miracles but a slow and steady loss will keep me happy
  7. Have decided that I really have to do something about my weight and I did SW before and lost so I'm going to give it another go. I still have my old food optimisiing books and I'm sure things can't have changed that much. I really can't afford to go to classes or do the online thing Have read Sam's post about using the slow cooker and that sounds like a good plan as I could use that to cook a meal and then have some left over for another time. The thing that I really fall down on is that I love chocolate, biscuits, desserts etc. I eat lots of different veg so that bit is ok but can't say as I'm a huge fruit fan. Any one have any ideas what I might substitute for snacking foods? Can anyone tell me if Mullerlite yoghurts are still 'free' on Slimming world plans? Thanks in advance fellow fugees
  8. Morning Sam Hope the rest of your journey is OK Alex - hope you have a more chilled day today
  9. Sam, wishing you lots of luck on your return to Oz and your new work contract. You are a brilliant example to us all and prove that Take care out there and make sure you take lots of photos for us
  10. Morning all Looks like it's going to be another nice day Why are you both up so early on a Sunday morning? I have a good excuse, I've just come home from work. Hope everyone has a lovely day, doing what they want to be doing and without being disturbed by noisy neighbours
  11. I thought Kate looked stunning And it was sweet seeing William turn to her at the altar to tell her she looked beautiful
  12. Have to agree Jazz - the spiders do seem much bigger this year Perhaps they liked the cold weather and ate more or something As for fostering them Jazz, you're welcome, I evict all mine and I think they are living in a homeless shelter somewhere in the garden Just as well the critters don't scare me
  13. Good to see that you've got your priorities in the right order Marge
  14. Hate people like that Marge There are always some in every workplace unfortunately and then the ones who get genuinely sick suffer as a result of their stupidity and playing of the system
  15. I love fresh rhubarb crumble - save some for me please
