  1. You will begin to realise I am technically inept.

When I was at College, a manual typewriter was a state of the art piece of equipment to have! So I had one.

Off to go to the GYM (otherwise I'll miss the time I have carefully arranged for this) however, perhaps by the time I get back, someone can have given me the numpty version of how to add this in, so I can appear less idiotic!

Do I use the http code ........... or a different one ................ and which box in my "Profile" do I put it in.

Mind you, I'm feeling much better to find Ellie needs help too ............ :D

  2. Mrs B :wavey:

I have added a tracker thingy as my signature with my loss to date on , was that the sort of thing you were thinking of when you said seeing how people were doing ?

if anyone wants a tracker thingy click on my tracker thingy and it should direct you to the website that does them

    Slightly less Fat Squiggs

    Ooooh errrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This is scarily technical for an OAP like me.

Question is, do I have this anywhere near right ............... ?

    Testing, testing ............

  3. Well done Gemstone.

I do hope I have congratulated everyone else I should have done, but if not, consider yourself congratulated anyway. :)

Having a wibble at the moment, as weigh in is tomorrow morning!

I’d like to think my trousers are looser, but then think maybe I’m just trying to kid myself as it is far too early to be in that situation!

Was VERY good last night. Wednesday night is baking night, and I managed not to taste anything – but realised that I must normally be dipping into some of the ingredients as I bake, not to mention licking some of the spoons ………………… Just goes to show that you don’t always realise just what you’ve been picking at!

Am going to the Gym again later – just for a total of around 20-25 minutes on various pieces of equipment, but hopefully everything will help.

    Wibble-wobble.

  4. Good for you Wendy. Well done.

Lil Angel - yes, I keep a food diary - it's fairly basic at the moment, but it's enough for me to see where I'm not eating enough of certain foods too.

I am already wishing that there was some way that I could see how each of us were doing week to week, as I know I will have forget that someone who lost 1lb this week will be very chuffed, because they've been trying hard for three weeks and lost nothing, and think someone's done fantastically who's lost 1.5lbs, when they will be totally disheartened 'cause they've been losing 3lbs every week, and had actually done more exercise that week.

Is there anyway of "collating" anything ........... for those who want?

  5. sorry I don't know what esle they sell as well as of course burgers and frys

I think they do salad but teh dressings used to be very high in fat ( they might have changed that )

there is a website that google says has online version of the menu but it does not open on my laptop www.mcdonalds.co.uk

Whoops. Unfortunately received this too late. Do not think I necessarily made the best choice, but, what is done is done, and, hopefully, if I do without as many of my "treats" and "fats" between now and Friday, I will be back on track.

    Very well done San.

Ellie-Sparkle, you are actually at a healthy BMI you know ................. No harm in losing a few pounds if you really feel you need to, but don't go mad (says she who comes in at a whole half inch taller than Ellie, but is refusing at this point in time to admit to just how many pounds more!)

Well done to everyone who has decided to make an adjustment to a healthier lifestyle.

Am off to update the exercise thread later.

  6. HELP!

I have just been asked to go with some folks for a ‘meal’ this evening. Possibly McDonalds. As I have (should I be ashamed to say?) no idea at all of my way around a McDonalds menu, can anyone brief me in advance for something sensible to have in my mind, so that I can go into the place fixated with what I am going to have.

I have been soooooooo good today as well - eaten cereals, fruit, brought my own carefully made sandwich lunch, salad bits – and it was going to be jacket potato for tea.

Any pointers for healthy options would be appreciated.

  7. I have been very nibbly this evening, so I have had some wholemeal crackers but I really want a HUGE SLICE OF CAKE ( with a cherry on top )

Do syns allow a SMALL slice of cake (with a cherry on top) ............

Keep going Sam, we can't have Grumpy Squirrels here. :)

Does anyone have a tried and tested muesli bar recipe? I can have those on plan, but have never made them, and while I can find lots of recipes I would rather use someone's tried and tested recipe. I have three nights this week when I will have to rush out of the house at a time too early to have had dinner, so I think that one of these would help me through to my evening meal. And of course, if I make them, I can portion control them.

  8. I feel I have been a good girl again today (although I haven't added up to see if I've eaten all I should yet!)

If I can keep this up tomorrow, that means that by the time I'm back at work on Monday I'll be three days in to my "healthy eating" and should find it easier to behave.

(Says she who's just looked at her schedule for the week!)

  9. Ryvitas spread with marmite and then cottage cheese on top is absolutely scrummy :)

Bread for me is crap cause I have to have so much butter on it it makes teeth marks  , I could happily go through half a loaf with loads of butter and marmite one slice at a time folded in half whilst being in the kitchen :blush02:

Ah, OK, so maybe my way of eating doesn't allow quite that much butter ............

Ryvita with Marmite and low fat cream cheese is also scrummy. I fear the Marmite Police will e on to me soon.

  10. Well, day 1 passed off fairly well - and I even resisted the suggestion of a real hot chocolate for supper.

However, when I did my calculations this morning, I discovered I didn't actually eat as much as I should have done yesterday - but I am going to average things out over the week anyway.

Suddenly fancied Ryvitas and Marmite for breakfast ............. my Ryvitas are soggy, but I didn't care and ate them anyway. Yummy.

Loobie, in my book, bread isn't crap ............. it's the crap I heap on it that's bad. :) Bread is definitely part of my diet plan.

  11. Had a herbal tea this afternoon, in an effort to not overdo the caffeine.

It was revoltingly revolting. Mind you, I'm not sure how long they've been in the cupboard ......

Off to see if I have enough Bovril for a proper drink now, and to put the jacket potatoes in for dinner. :)

  12. Day 1 for me. I've weighed in. :ohno02:

Feel quietly confident - or more like, there's going to be lots of folks on here watching me so I'd better behave. AND I need to make sure I have a contribution for Dogstar Foundation by 29th February which is just 8 weeks away.

Seem to be doing a different diet from every one else. :ninja: but I do like to have my cake and eat it so to speak.

Downside. Having been ill, I haven't been able to shop for anything special, so if it's not in the house now, I can't eat it. And if I eat anything drier than a banana I start coughing!

Off to do some measuring now. I suspect that my hands are colder than Grandma Squirrel's just now, which is no good thing as I might cause myself to shrink in the measuring process.

Had breakfast, and I'm going to have poched duck egg on toast (white, 'cause no wholemeal, see shopping comment! (unless I make some of course)) for lunch.

  13. I need to find a supplier locally who can get me a regular fix, Mrs B is also on the case to try and help me

Mrs B did post a message on 1st January that she could get them at £1.25 for 3 for you .............

Let her know and she'll add it to your "order" for next week.

  14. Is it ok if i join in on this thread too :flowers:

Can only think of reasons why you should join in. :)

Sounds as if you (and your Dad) are doing really well.

I shall be hoping for masses of support and encouragement and suggestions here, so as far as I'm concerned, the more who are here the more folks to help me.

  15. (((Sigh)))

Sorry, I don't know, I know I should, but I am ever so slightly of the IT not good - apart from the keyboard bit.

I'm probably just a step further on than the "Pics", "My Pics" and "Piccies" stage .........

  16. I changed my address!

I found that by putting an underscore between the two parts of my name, I reduced the volume of junk mail to around two items per year, which is less than I receive at work with their supposedly fantastic systems! Good enough for IT illiterate me. I've now done the same with all my e-mail addresses.

So for example, your address could be

    [email protected]

Depends how many folks know your e-mail address and stuff - at the time I did mine, it wasn't critical.

  17. your good , your very good :flowers:

Mrs B - Slimming World Dealer :ninja:

I can't remember what they are called ( I think its Hi-fi bars ) and I was very fond of the choccie/orange flavour , they used to sell 3 in a pack ( ooh eerr )

£1.25 for 3 bars. My "contact" had one in her hand when my OH was speaking to her ........ Is that a message ...........

  18. your good , your very good :flowers:

Will be making contact with my dealer tonight. Will let you know the outcome.

(In writing down what you wanted however, I tipped the entire contents of the pen pot behind the computer desk. )

  19. am happy to do it myself at home as I have the books and you chappies as a support group , my only downside is I think the lovely bars they sell at the weigh in meetings ( they can be used as healthy extra ) can only be brought at the meetings which is a pain as I rather liked them

Send details, I'll see what my contact can do. :)
