And why did the system let him down? Why did no one notice that these people had a dog that was never walked, what about the Vet and a duty of care? This poor poor dog

It seems that many breeders are letting pups go at 6 weeks old, this is the 3rd pup in as many weeks that I have heard of being taken home at 6 weeks old, its a very old fashioned idea and IMO not a good idea as its far too young....but sadly it happens.

See my previous post Siberian Husky Welfare, let them know
-
If they purchased the pup from a reputable breeder (here's hoping) then the first port of call would be to offer the pup back to that breeder, most will stipulate that when handing the pup over in the first place

Give Terry or Mick a call at Siberian Husky Welfare, they maybe able to offer some helpful advice and guidance. SHWA

I think the problem for many is that our little Island can only take so many people before the infrastructure buckles! -
My Maia has HD so we can't walk too far either So will probably only be a 30 min or so walk/amble/bimble Will get a date sorted
-
Anyone fancy a walk and a jolly good natter? Dates anyone?

Tailends news Update 10 November - We have now raised all the money for Mollie’s eye surgery! This is brilliant. Thank you so very much to everyone who donated money to help this little dog. You are very special people and we really appreciate your support for this poor girl. Mollie is so unassuming and if she could understand she would be overwhelmed that so many people care about her. Mollie's life has been so tough and she has had little comfort or attention. Everyone who has met her has fallen for her and realised that she is a very special girl. I cannot wait for the day when she will open her eyes and see again. What a fantastic moment that will be. I will keep everyone informed via the website of the date of her surgery and her progress. We are currently hoping that it will be done before the end of November but need to make sure she is stable and our vet is happy for the surgery to go ahead at this time. Mollie has been very ill recently and was kept at the vet on a drip with intensive nursing for five days when her diabetes became completely unstable and she was very ill. However she is now absolutely fine and eating well. She is also going for her walks and happily integrating with the other dogs especially Judy who seems very fond of her. She is going back to the vet on Thursday 15th November for another glucose curve to ensure that her blood glucose levels are not dropping too low during the day. If all is well we will then confirm a date for her eye surgery. Angela

Poem about a Blind Dog by Sherrill Wardrip (Blind Dogs List member) I cannot see you Mommy, when you cuddle me so near. And yet I know you love me, it's in the words I hear. I cannot see you Daddy, when you hold me by your side But still I know you love me when you tell me so with pride. I cannot see to run and play out in the sun so bright For here inside my tiny head it's always dark as night. I cannot see the treats you give when I am extra good But I can wag my tail in Thanks just like a good dog should. "She cannot see. The dogs no good" is what some folks might say "She can't be trained, she'll never learn She must be put away." But not you, Mom and Daddy You know that it's all right Because I love you just as much as any dog with sight. You took me in, you gave me love and we will never part Because I'm blind with just my eyes, I see you in my heart.

Mass Immigration To The Uk - Does It Bother You?
Jackthelab replied to Jackthelab's topic in Non Animal Chat
I mentioned the colour and race issue as sometimes we can become very emotional about particular 'groups' of people, I in particular moved house because of Black Gangs becoming more prevalant in our community and it became a scary place to live, now I could be branded a racist for mentioning the colour of the gang, I wanted to start an open discussion about ALL aspects if Immigration, not just the colour of skin or race. its so important to everyone and we are so DAMN frightened of talking about it, yet start a conversation with anyone on this subject and you'll be talking passionately for hours. Someone actually said to me last night....I am NOT Racist, but have become Racially Intolerant and that about sums it up. -
