Just heard that Canine Kennels is in administration. We ordered a double crate and divider from them (paid for by card) and they phoned to say that they no longer had the one we wanted in stock and to date no refund either. They did in fairness offer another crate but we declined as were told we would get a refund. We have just lost £54 and now worried about ordering on line is case we get caught out again, case of once bitten twice shy. D

Sandy is a very affectionate but boisterous lab x. He is around 1 year old but acts like a big puppy. He is very responsive but, like a lot of young dogs can be easily distracted. He needs someone used to boisterous dogs who can provide calm but firm control. He is good with other dogs but can be a bit boisterous. We feel he is too boisterous to be homed with young children, and would do well with a young female dog to keep him in his place and wear him out a bit. He knows the basic commands. His house training needs more work as he may have lived out in the past. Sandy will make someone a wonderful dog if they are prepared to give him some time and patience. Boco is a 12 year old Springer who needs a new home through no fault of his own. He is a lovely boy, good with children, other dogs and cats. He is good on and off a lead and travels well.. He is house trained and looking for a loving home for the rest of his years. He is fit and lively and loves his walks but likes to nap in between. Meg is an 11 year old collie who would be better as an only dog as she wants all the attention. Although she is currently living with other dogs, she doesn’t get on very well with other bitches. She tolerates cats but will chase a cat if it runs and is not good with sheep. She knows the basic commands, is house trained and walks well on a lead. She would be fine with older children but not with young children. Max is a 3 year old collie who has had to have a front leg amputated because of a bad break. His fosterers say it hasn’t slowed him down at all and that it would be great if he could get a home where he can continue to work sheep. He is good with children although he hasn’t met toddlers. He knows the basic commands and is good on and off the lead. He is house trained providing he has a routine and travels well. He is good with other dogs, well behaved cats and poultry. Had an email today from someone claiming to be a barrister called John Hamilton from Hamilton Solicitors in Manchester. This so call John Hamilton is looking for a non profit rescue group that would "adopt a relocatable shelter shed and a caravan" from his late client's estate. Me being a cynical old bat thought I would look up this "Barrister" and low and behold no firm of solicitors in Manchester called Hamilton that I could find, the only barrister with that name is based in London and when dialing the phone number on the e mail it has been suspended and your call could be diverted out of the country. The wording in the e mail was most certainly not written by a Barrister or any one else that attended english lessons! Hey ho.

Try going round the horse sales locally and sending photos of the dog to the auctioneers of horse sales further afield. It is not uncommon for dogs, puppies and horse boxes, tack etc to be sold at the same time. Llanybydder horse sale in Wales is held the last Thursday of every month and I know people come from as far a field as Essex to this sale. There is also Beeston which I think is in Cheshire. Best bet is to buy Horse and Hound for the sale listings. Hope the dog is recovered very soon. If the lorry was locked then these thieves were obviously very determined and must have been watching. D

Red is a really affectionate but boisterous boy who needs someone used to big bouncy dogs to work on his training. He is house trained and his recall is excellent. He will walk well on a lead once his initial exuberance has worn off. He travels well although he gets excited. He is good with other dogs and is quite timid until he gets to know them. Non is a 7-year old Westie. She is an ex-breeding bitch and has lived out, therefore is not house- trained. She is good with children, other dogs and animals. She is not good with cats and will need some training as she will follow a scent off lead and has no re-call. She is spayed and micro-chipped.
