  1. Not microchipped, so didn't know who owners were, presume she ran out of time. I just feel so sorry for her, she is take away from the horrors of Afghanistan (where she had saved some soldiers lives by chasing away a suicide bomber), given a home and then back in kennels and PTS

mecry.gifangry.gif I don't get it, poor dog, I just don't get how she fell through the cracks like that , makes me wonder how hard the owners looked for her unsure.gif.

  2. I like Olives as well biggrin.gif

Now your talking biggrin.gif, try Gordal olives if you ever see them, they are marinated in a mild chilli and are the most delicious olive you'll ever pop in your gob.

Which? Raspberry vinegar? It used to be common enough but may have gone out of fashion. It's sweet and sharp at the same time and really nice. You can treat it like lemon juice and have some sugar with it. My gran used to make it but sometimes she got it wrong and it exploded. Raspberry vinegar is great on pancakes and Yorkshire pud but not so great on the ceiling.

Noooo, the whole having a yorkie pud as a pudding thing.....I quite like vinegar.

I just read that Target, one of the Nowzad dogs from Afghanistan, escaped her owners' garden and was taken to a Shelter where she was PTS :mecry:

How sad mecry.gif, why was she pts ?

Spud had another lump off today, he peed on me when I came to pick him up rolleyes.gif

  3. I use them as chews, they are very good too, they last ages as it's impossible for the dog to get lumps off and they have to sort of grate them, I have Roe deer ones. I get mine when I go to the Scone Game Fair, the folk who do stick making have huge baskets of them for a quid each, you can get a whole antler or just a section, I also get buffalo horn which is just as popular with the dogs and just as long lasting.

  4. How about an auction - we haven't had one for ages and it would be good to have a clear out after Christmas of all those unwanted presents :flowers: With the added bonus of raising money for a good cause of course - which could be chosen by way of members submitting nominees and then voting on a poll :flowers:

Good idea Alex, I've still got a load of crap lovely desirable but unwanted gifts from last christmas that I kept for the next auction.

I am about to go and do some chook chasing, some unidentified hen ( probably Esme ) is pecking the back door and making Ben bark rolleyes.gif

Eddie's home again tonight mecry.gifoh well it was a lovely 3 weeks holiday from his moaning rolleyes.gif

  6. Great start to the fecking day ... hubbys just rang to say he's been involved in a crash on his way to work :mecry: he's OK a bit shaken up but he's more upset by the fact that despite him being in the right some bloke pulled up and told the woman who hit him that he would be a witness on her behalf! If it's happened where I think it's happened theres no way that it can be hubbys fault - he was in the right hand lane, that lane closes and filters into the left hand lane, the woman on his inside not only refused to give way she apparently sped up so he had nowhere to go except into the barrier or into the side of her car. How on earth can anyone possibly say the car on the left wasn't at fault? Highway code says you must give way to your right!!!!! The damage to both cars is consistant with hubbys story, ours is scraped and smashed all down the left side, hers all down her right side and apparently her front bumper is hanging off so it should be pretty damned clear who is at fault then along comes this bloke who wasn't even involved and says he'll say it was hubbys fault!! How the f*** does that work??? And thats just gonna cause all kinds of problems with the insurance!

Similar thing happened to me a few years ago on a roundabout when a girl went into the rear passenger door of my car, this guy appears from nowhere and said he'd be a witness to say it was my fault ohmy.gif, she was changing ;anes, didn't look where she was going, how the feck was that my fault angry.gif, I still had to pay I'm afraid.

Thanks for the good thoughts. :flowers: The funeral was really quite uplifting and the sun shone throughout. It was a humanist ceremony, which I have never attended before, and was a very fitting, personal tribute to Carol's life. Robbie Williams "feel" played us out, I knew Carol would fit him in somewhere, bless her.

    Glad it went well Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif

KELLY, I HOPE YOUR EAR SORTS ITSELF Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif

    Welcome home Samflowers.gif

Got home from Selkirk yesterday, to find Eddie had been busy over the weekend and had cut down the huge Rowan tree outside the livingroom window, I feel guilty but it had to go, far to many trees casting shade, I'll plant some hawthorn in it's place I think, which should be just as good for the birds.

Had to send back my lovely shoes mecry.gif, they just didn't go with my dress, perfect colour but the style just didn't go, so have another pair being delivered.

Spud got his staples out...what a big poof, he screamed the place down rolleyes.gif.

  8. he is starving today, 5 senna tabs at 2pm, then at 6 he has to drink some picolax stuff then tomorrow at 7am he has to have 2 sachets of something starting with an M in loads of water. just for fun he has decided we are going to the hozzy on a bus  i have offered to pay for a cab  wish my mum was here

Going on the bus is asking for trouble when he's had Picolax, the other stuff might be Moviprep, think thats what it's called, why do they give them names like that, they should just say what it does, s*** Through the Eye of a Needle would have my vote.

Anyone remember I mentioned last week that Daisy had hidden a lamb bone somewhere in the house......well, I found it, tucked in the bottom of the dirty washing basket glare.gif laugh.gif, absolutely mingng, although I didn't smell it until I started rummaging around, and there it was nestled in my jimjams !.....new pair of jammies for me I think rolleyes.gif

  10. Ed wasn't too pleased I'd let the moose go in the cellar rolleyes.gif, if I'd been quicker I'd have caught it again and put it in my moose hospital, but it shot off despite it's poor wee legs, I right like wee mooses wub.gif

    Morning

Had a bit of a scare last night. We were all nicely tucked up in bed, me fast asleep, when all of a sudden Kiera sat straight up in bed and started barking her head off. Sparks of course joined in, and they both jumped off the bed and ran into the kitchen, barking by the kitchen door. I followed, turned the lights on and was just in time to see a bloke stumble as he ran away. The gate was unlocked and I know for sure that I locked it. Slept very well after that, knowing that my guys are keeping an eye and an ear out for any trouble

Blimey !!, well done Kiera and Sparks wub.gif

i am off to the doctors again..... i am seriously dizzy and being sick :mecry: at least i get my ear fixed again next tuesday

  11.

good thoughts for Spud. :GroupHug: Cherry is still going strong 3-4 years after having a large Mast Cell lump removed, so fingers crossed for Spud.

Do you remember what grade it was ?. He's had a grade one and a 2 off about a year ago, and numerous other ones that turned out to be nothing. Did Cherry get any other lumps off ?. I'm not sure where to stop with Spud, I worry when more lumps appear but I don't want to keep putting him through getting them off.

    Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif For Karens mum.

I went to get the hens corn from the back door, only to find an ickle moose munching on the corn wub.gif, I let it go in the cellar only to see that it's little back legs were paralysed mecry.gif, I've left some corn and water out for it poor wee thing, I think Polly was to blame glare.gif.

  12.

I've been doing studying with a nap in between.

I've been catching up on Whitechapel and Downton Abby with a nap in between laugh.gif. Both were very good, especially Downton, although I am a tad concerned the appearance of Mr Timmins from Larkrise as a butler at Downton means that either , a ) Mr Timmins has kicked the bucket, or b ) there's to be no more Larkrise mecry.gif, still, nice to see Mr Timmins has gone up in the world laugh.gif.

  13. I had to make a very hard decision yesterday with the help and advice of the rescue.

I had nesty put down. her aggression was getting worse. she was attacking anyone and everything around. could have been a brain tumour.

Im in pieces over it and am too upset to discuss it, but thought id let you know

also, mother has cancer all over

ive been crying since yesterday, cant cope with much more. ive lost 3 dogs this year and now could lose mother

I'm so so sorry Jazz, a horrible time for you Group_Hug_Emoticon.gifGroup_Hug_Emoticon.gifGroup_Hug_Emoticon.gif

    RIP Nesty Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif

Spud now has some staples, he's also to keep his hoodie on, he did get lots of compliments from Angus the vet on his fashion sense though biggrin.gif.

We also got the results back for his lumps, 2 of them were grade 1 mast cell, and 1 was a nothing lump. It does mean though that he'll have to get the lump the vet missed off in a few weeks angry.gif. She missed the lump I'd pointed out ( they are teeny) and found one I'd missed and took that off instead wacko.gif.

  14. Spud has a vet appointment this morning, silly sod has ripped open stitches he got on Wednesday ( more lumps ). He's now wearing a dog hoodie with security printed on the back to try and keep the wound clean rolleyes.gif.

I can't seem to keep my Nag Champa joss sticks lit unsure.gif
