  1. I was going to say yes, but Cycas's post has made me unsure unsure.gif.

I do eat meat as long as it's free range as I care about farm animal welfare, however the slaughtering process could be improved upon, for instance the re-opening of local slaughter houses so animals didn't have to travel so far and an end to the "piece-meal" pay system which can result in slaughter men not taking as much care as they could be. I imagine though that even if plasti-meat takes off there will still be small specialist farmers producing ethically reared animals for the luxury market.

  2. Nooooooo bad enough in her knickers ,but when she started on about hiding stuff in her sanitary towels that was just too much :sick01: :sick01: :sick01:

  3. I'm sorry Jack still has issues, I thought he'd improved Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif.

I'm in agreement with Mrs Mop, his hair trigger temperament could suggest something medical being the cause, although saying that, a friend recently had a similar situation with her GSD bitch Sylvie, she had a clean bill of health, so they got in a behaviourist who said Sylv was trying to be top bitch but her owners weren't allowing her to be, so she was having to crank up the aggression to her two house mates ( male Springers ), she followed his advice to support Sylve in being top dog and the problem is nearly gone.

I could say that if she'd followed the advice her friend gave her she could have saved herself £200, since it was exactly the same advice the behaviourist gave her, but that would just be being petty whistle.gif

  4. Might turn up tomorrow if other people use the field? Az lost his collar on the moors near Tavistock once: the first person who read the tag & phoned me told me where it was so I said I'd go pick it up : I then had people leading me a right old dance as they found it, wandered off with it, called me, put it down, someone else found it....

In the end I had to drive round and pick up from someone's house, there was no chance I was going to get it just left at an obvious landmark for me to collect!:laugh:

It was so cold and frosty here this morning that I didn't do my usual 7 am hill walk, one hill is freezing on even a mild morning as it's so exposed and the other hill is along an exposed twisty one track road, yesterday morning I had to steer my car into the grass verge to get it to stop along that road, sure as hell wasn't doing that again ohmy.gif. So we went round the stubble field instead.....Ben is not a happy bunny rolleyes.gif.

i have been really poorly and i am not 100% yet so just popped in to have a quick catchup. i have been back and forth to the doctor and hospital and i am not thrilled with my consultant, and i now have to go through another general anaesthetic to hopefully get my hearing restored... i need to try and shift this very persistent infection before they can operate.( had pus running out of my ear for a month)

will hopefully be able to keep up properly when i am feeling better

    Yer back ! bigsmiley.gif

    Very random this...

My mum (who is now conscious and making small bits of progress each day) was trying to convince everyone yesterday that she was on a hospital ship in Scotland and that airsea rescue was going to move her to the new rehab hospital  - brain damage is an odd thing!

Awww laugh.gif, glad she's making progress

I've had a squish for an abcess put can't find anything owwwww :mecry:

Ouch, nothing worse than toothache Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif

I feel the same about some books, I try and tail them out for as long as possible.

  8. I've just watched my first episode of I'm a Celeb, I'd just like to apologise on behalf of Scotland for the odious horrid creature that is Gillian Naeteeth mellow.gif....We're sorry, if we'd known she'd have been hog tied and left in the middle of Niddrie for the Ned's to pick at her bones.

  9. poo investigator? ive missed that, whats it about?

Thats Gillian, she used to have a program on the telly where she got people to put their jobbies in a tupperware box and she would give the jobbie a wee poke and a sniff and tell them to change their diet wacko.gif

I wasn't going to watch it but all the furore over Gillian has peaked my interest, she seems a most detestable human being, I'll be watching it just so I can dislike her more than I already do rolleyes.gif

  10.

RMF I've been given one shift at work this week! I should be worried about the lack of money but I'm enjoying the time with my Xbox

Oooo, have you got C.O.D Black Op's and is it any good ? so far the only reviews I've had have been from hormonal teenage boys and they have carp taste so I ain't trusting their judgement.

I have been making banoffee cheesecake today, I'm supposed to make it for Christmas dinner so I thought I'd better do a trial run and I'm glad I did as the recipe says to leave it to cool in the oven, but thats just burnt it a wee bit so I won't be doing that again.

I forgot to mention that Spud's results for his last lot of lumps came through and they were all benign biggrin.gif

I've been asked if I want a Husky puppy, yes would be my answer but I think Daisy would have something to say on the matter, perhaps I could swap rolleyes.gif

  11. Had a lovely time at the wedding yesterday, especially since I met the very very handsome Adam who I last met when he was four years old, he's now 28 and very fancy-able, and he loves dogs wub.gif, I did feel like a dirty old lady fancying him laugh.gif.

I also have a handy tip, Champaign, wine and whiskey are not a good mix mellow.gif

Why the f*** is Wagner still in the X Factor ?, I sometimes despair of the British public.

  12. I am sorry your going through this Group_Hug_Emoticon.gif, and having to wait so long to find out won't be helping matters given that stress can be a major factor if you do have IBS.

Things that I've found to be a help are Yakult which my consultant suggested, and it does help a bit and ginger tablets, you might also want to try charcoal biscuits which you can get in Holland and Barrett ( they taste just like Rich Tea's ). Although I don't have IBS ( I have Crohn's ) I have found eating a low residue diet is essential , so you could be right with the Special K, try cutting out as much fibre as you can for a few days and see if there's an improvement.

The symptoms you've described could be IBS, but I've never come across anyone who has that much swelling of the stomach, so who knows, perhaps there's more than one thing going on unsure.gif .

  13. I asked OH what he'd like for his birthday. He said he wanted me to do something but was sure when I heard what it was that I wouldn't do it!!!

My imagination was working overtime, thinking OMG is there a side of him I didn't know existed??? So I said that I'd do it   and he said, "Wear a dress when we go out."

I never wear dresses these days and I don't even have one that fits.

    laugh.giflaugh.gif

I have a posh wedding to go to tomorrow, hence the spray tan which came out really well, I've been practising make up all day, I so seldom wear it these days that I had to remind myself what to do rolleyes.gif

My friends daughter Sally and her BF ( Just ) Jamie are coming up to stay tomorrow to look after the dogs for the wedding, Spud and Daisy will be fine with them, they've known Sally all their lives, but I think Ben just might try it on with them, he does like to see how much he can get away with, I fully expect to come home and discover Ben's convinced them that he is actually fed a diet of macaroni cheese and flap jacks laugh.gif

  14. You're ruddy freaks you lot!

Tomato sauce, pineapple, lemon cake are all extremely yummy (and that's just for starters).

My list would have to have the following (sure I'll think of some more to add later):

    Celery

    Olives

Raw onions (can't even stand the smell)

Whiskey (in fact any liquer which doesn't have copious quanitities of mixer in)

    Mussels, cockles, etc

Creme Caramel (which literally makes me retch) :sick01:

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black laugh.gif I'll have you know missus that olives whiskey and mussels are all food of the gods sleep.gif....but not necessarily all at the same time, cos' that would be bouwf sick02.png

I need to add scrambled egg to my list

Bean curd, I had a bit of that at a posh chinese place in London and I really thought I was going to hurl, the texture of it was revolting sick01.gif
