  1. Hello Loo Griff, Alex sorry to hear about your ex director . With your migraines do you take paracetamol. When i was in hospital with mine the doctor told me if your migraine is getting worse dont take paracetamol stuff as apparently your digestive system starts closing down which means you dont absorb paracetamol products so the best thing is to take asprin as its absorbed much quicker. I have to take 900mg asprin [or 3x 300mg] to work effectively. They put me on pizofen for migraines but the stuff knocked me out so i'm now on the kiddies one and guess what..i'm still sleepy on it although not as bad. I seem to have a lot of trouble with taking meds and the doctors think i'm very sensative to it and cant handle normal amounts that an adult should be fine with. Hence the kiddies doseage
  2. Thanks Yantan, last weeks really scared me i honestly thought i was having stroke or something.I felt awful , couldnt walk or talk properly couldnt remember my address etc and had a job understanding the doctors and when i did talk i 'd be halfway through and start talking a load of rubbish. Very scary. Unfortunately whilst the meds are keeping the constant headaches away i'm continually falling asleep all day, very grumpy and hungry, all are known side effects but i dont want to be like this forever. My weight and normal temper are bad enough anyway without the tablets helping !!!
  3. Murtle, great video. Owl sorry it wasnt Bones. I've been having severe migraines and the just over a week ago ended up in hospital as it was so bad. I'm now on permanent medication Pizotifen but suffering side effects. Anyone have experience of it at all?
  4. Yep footsore is horrible to witness and can take a while to resolve. You could borrow/but hoof boots to lead him out in and take off in field or stable. Talking of which i'm looking for size 0 boa boot [just one] if anyone knows of a secondhand one going as Bumble is sore after a foot trimming. Dont know if its reached english news yet but something terrible happened yesterday in Sark which is just a short boat trip from Guernsey. http://www.thisisguernsey.com/news/2012/06/27/121971/
  5. Hi all , not been here for ages due to knackered computer [again!!]. Phoebe is stunning . Will have a good read back to see how your lot have been doing as i've missed a lot. I've had usual sucess rate ..vets , vets and vets . Bumble and Annie had their teeth done , both needed sedating but Bumble just wouldn't calm down and ended up with cut mouth which got infected so vets had to treat him with antibiotics which addes £112 to my bill and last night seriously thought i was going to loose Annie after she got choke when eating hay. Never seen it before although heard the horror stories but its terrifying to see.
  6. Hi everyone, not been around for ages due to dead computer! Hope you're all ok but i'll have a good read back to catch up. Was up mega early today as last night my mare Annie was ill but thankfully seems fine now. After that i took Izzie to the beach and she was charging in and out of sea then i discovered a seal was watching us and following us. I was very excited, never had that before!! Well done on catching the lost horse Owl, hope Kip is home soon.
  7. ..but the older i get the worse mine is oh well, just more evidence i screw up and get everything wrong Owl, at least you never have a dull day hows the ankle doing?
  8. Hope those plans dont go through Suzeanna Yay, glad HRH Sir Nogs is still getting better Rufus hammie is doing ok, was very dodgy over the weekend but hes eating again. The swelling in his toes and leg is going down but the leg is still huge. Hes using leg occasionally as over weekend he stopped putting any weight on it. I know hes feeling better as hes fighting like mad against the syringe stuck in his mouth twice daily Thank goodness i had got him to vets so fast as with the infection etc i dont think he'd have made it without antibiotics starting immediately. However with price of vet bill i could have bought several replacements!! Only joking , hes such a lovely friendly boy i luvs him lots.
  9. Quick for all broked horses. Dont want to stay in here long in case i pass the broked bug on to my lot, had enough of that last year
  10. Hope HRH Sir Nog is continuing to recover Rufus hammie has made it through the night so thats good but his foot is red and swollen. However he is using it unlike yesterday and i syringed his antibiotics in his mouth with no problems. Last night Jodie was sleeping at a friends but at 11pm the door bell rang and there was Jodie with her friends mum. Jodie was bawling because of Rufus and loosing Toffee so i ended up with a sobbing wreck in my bed . I 'may' have had a tear or two myself
  11. Cant get smileys to work either. Huge hugs for Snow and Nog. Well the curse of friday 13th has struck us. Jodies lovely hamster escaped and somehow managed to scale the rats cage and they have bitten him on his leg. Rufus has been to vets and had antibiotic jab and have some to orally give him, hopefully he'll be ok but is in a bit of shock atm and is also in a different cage as hes not allowed pipes etc. So lot of get better thoughts for Rufus please. Sadly we took Toffee mouse with us and he was pts. His lump has almost doubled and was causing trouble. Vet said it was a huge tumour and i didnt want him to suffer anymore so we let him go. Poor Jodie is upset over Toffee and scared Rufus wont make it. What a start to the day. Forgot to say..thankyou Pingu!
  12. why cant horses be straightforward, they always have to complicate things really hope things are clearer soon At least your in good company here
  13. I saw it yesterday but thought as no one was mentioning it that it'd been there a bit and i was dim and hadn't noticed Good to know it hasnt been up long Agree with others Alex accept the higher one and bin the other!
  14. He really is a stunning lad and hope tomorrow gets results. Whens he supposed to come home
  15. Vinnie sounds lovely milo Blue , hope you get some answers today
  16. cant wait for the news headlines Hope Bones stops playing silly buggers and surrenders soon hope little terrier got claimed Does anyone know about cage cleaning/germs etc. As i said yesterday Tyson parrot will up grade to a large cage soon. The one i've been offered is lovely but i have one concern about buying it. The african grey that lived in it died from an illness. It was thought to be from contaminated food but the bird had diarrohea and died within 48 hrs. Cage was apparently disinfected and has been empty for several months but is it safe for my boy? Have been offered all the expensive toys free with the cage but again are these safe or not. Last thing i want to do is accidently get my boy ill.
  17. Have to admit i hadnt realised about the fume thing until last night. Then again i always knew ironing is vastly over rated and now i know its downright dangerous When you think about it though it makes you wonder how all these unseen fumes affect us and the rest of our pets Houndrus forgot to say before that i loved the photo
  18. Fran Yantan, hope you're feeling better Griff the ones that were 'looking after' the car are paying arent they? I have always wanted a parrot for years and years. Yesterday i saw an ad on facebook for a parrot but with no details. I enquired about him and the people spoke to me then invited me down, interrogated me and gave him to me with the cage and everything for nothing. So i am now the owner of Tyson a 12 yr old jardine parrot who dislikes men but loves woman. After a few minutes of meeting him he was letting me stroke him through the bars of his cage His cage isnt huge but i'm giving him a few weeks to make sure hes happy with us then he'll upgrade Any one with jardine parrots.. any advice /tips etc are more than welcome. I spent last night researching them but theres nothing like owners advice to help But thats it now no more new additions, i even turned down dwarf hammies yesterday [two 'males' that have just had a litter ]
  19. Fran, glad youre feeling better. Depression is such a bloody awful thing Snow
  20. Ohh, so we could have famous fugee and horse Hope all goes well Little Fern is so sweet, shes really coming round and i think there a wicked bugger in there waiting to spring out If she could be ridden she'd make a fantastic dressage pony with the moves shes been demonstrating lately in the field..more along the lippizaner lines Headcollars are still trouble and have to stay on 24-7 but we're getting there. I can now fidget around with it on her head without scaring her and she now sticks her nose in my face for kisses Its undoing buckles and putting the headcollar on that scares her senseless and much as i hate leaving it on permantly its better than stressing her out so much but one day we'll get there
  21. Snow. I know you say its no comfort yet but just wanted to say i think its wonderful that your mums corneas have helped others
  22. Murtle, very sad about the person that died. Hope your ok healthwise though oh dear Griff I may have been like this earlier. My grumpy biter of a hamster had to go to vets to be pts I was hoping Grizzly would go quietly in his sleep but it wasnt to be. This morning he was screeching and was obviously in pain so i phoned vets who told me to take him straight up. Typically though as the vet said, his body had given up and was basically breaking down but his heart was really strong for an old boy Have fun at the Bridge Grizzly
