Red wine ordinarily gives me a headache, but seeing as I already have one, maybe it'll have the opposite effect? So, thank you Hilton Park is the north side of Birmingham on M6, and it's to go from there at 10.30 to Corley Services (on M6 heading towards M1).

Please don't shout at me for throwing something dog related in here, but I'm having a really bad day I've only once ever had to cancel a trip for a poundie due to lack of transport, and that was bad enough...but at least we had boarding space. This time there's no boarding, and I'm struggling with knowing that this could genuinely be our first pts situation in months. Maybe I was being unrealistic thinking it would never happen, and maybe we've been spoilt till now with very good volunteers who go out of their way. Anyone got a very large drink handy? Steph, what's the latest I can let you know that it's been called off? Don't want you heading over unnecessarily.

Coryn from Rochdale Dog Recue has just been notified of a black lab found. Details that I have are as follows: Black lab, looks full lab, but is a little thinner, and slightly longer coat. But is only young so maybe not filled out yet. Approx 8 months old, but still has some milk teeth. No testicles evident, but unsure whether neutered or just hasn't dropped yet. Found tied to a tree in Tandle Hills Country Park, Royton, Oldham at around 4pm today (Sat 20th May). Wearing a dark blue fabric/webbing type narrow collar. No ID tags. He appears to respond the the name SAM, so perhaps similar sounding names (Sam/Stan/Tam etc) Or maybe lived in a household with a child named Sam, or another dog, so recognises the sound?. The finder is housing the dog for the moment and is aware that he needs to get the dog scanned for a microchip on Monday. Local police stations informed. Finder is keen to offer a permanent home to the dog, but obviously we're hoping there is a worried owner out there looking for this lad. Contact is via Coryn on: 07917 542856. I'm not going to bother sorting out transport for dogs anymore. I'm just going to email all the transporters on my list photos of the dogs needing spaces and ask if they'd like to home a dog! If you adopt Fudge, that's Fudge and Bovril (now Zak) that have been adopted by my transporters in the last fortnight! Steph, you now my feelings. It's often about the dog that finds us, not the one we go looking for. Will have my fingers crossed for you that she works out ok with other dogs. Good Luck!
