  1. My sisters dog left for the Bridge today, when I left Ruby at the vets on Monday I picked Jen and my sister up to take them to the same vets. She went back yesterday for a check up but was kept in on a drip. Sadly she didn't respond and we had to say goodbye to her this morning and take another trip to the Pet Crematorium. I loved Jen like one of my own for nearly 16 years, she was a beautiful girl and will be much missed.

Run free Jen with Ruby and Rosie, we love and miss you

    all.

  2. Sorry didn't post link been a bit unwell today.

Took us 6 hours there and 61/2 back but that's because we have to stop lots to let Sham have a wee wee. Nice drive though past Loch Lomond and then down Loch Fyne. We always spend a fortune in the Loch Fyne shop with all the fresh fish etc.

It was our fourth visit to Ellary and although Cove cottage isn't in the Coves we prefer that one as it's secluded a mile up a dirt track in the forest overlooking the loch with a massive garden.

  3. At Ellary, we've stayed before but had a different cottage this time. Set right between two coves with 151/2 thousand acres to explore. We still went off estate to our usual haunts.

The left cove, there were 3 cottages here with a small enclosed garden each but a big gate so we coud roam the fields and coves.

Took hundreds of pics as usual, but some stunning scenery and the girls enjoyed it.

  4. Didn't get the shepherds pie I had no mince in  They had bacon hotpot instead with mashed carrots and then a bit of cream cake for afters. Mother-in-law brought them a big bag of stuff for their hols and a present wrapped in pink paper for Sham with a lovely card.

She then left £10 for Oldies Club and some pocket money for the girls for their holiday.

  5. Happy 15th Birthday Sham (Wed 22)

Doesn't seem two minutes since last years

I'm making you a doggie shepherds pie and then some cake and no doubt your Nan will bring you lots of treats (she spoils you all).

We love you lots and hope you enjoy your holiday in Scotland next week.

  6. I can't believe where the time has gone, it's scary. We adopted Grace the Orange Belton in Feb. Having 3 old girls we thought it would be nice to have a young un to liven them up. Both had been starved so we had lots of problems at first and thought we'd have to rehome her. She was food aggressive (understandable) and had a few goes at Sham and Ruby as they'll fight over their own food.

Sham took to living upstairs and was nervous so obviously it couldn't carry on. I spoke to loads of behaviourists etc etc and the gist being that we couldn't change Grace. Anyway to cut a long story short I decided to get stuck in, calm down and keep trying. The outcome of which is that all is peace and harmony now. I give the old girls their food and Grace sits and waits for hers, I put it down and she looks at me until I tell her "okay" and praise her. She's not allowed to touch the other girls bowls even when empty and I am always vigilant. Saying all this Sham pinches Lindy's if I'm not watching but Lindy won't fight.

She's put on 5 kilo's now and knows she doesn't need to fight to get her tum full. And she's off on her first holiday to Scotland next week, do you think she'll like it here? No limit on dogs in any of the cottages that's why we keep going back trying different ones.

She's a little darling and a typical sweet loving English Setter.

    Couple of pics:

    Enjoying their walk and treats.

  7. We just got back from a car boot sale that a kind man is doing in aid of Oldies Club. Took Sham and Ruby in their bandanas and they got lots of attention. A ceiling fan that my OH got out (and I said was rubbish and to put it in the bin) sold straight away. Just goes to show how much I know about boot sales.

Ruby yapped all the time but Sham was a star, probably because she was getting lots of treats off people.

Now I've got to go and mop floors ready for the grout to be sealed tomorrow. :mecry:
