Thanks Phebe Am home now and Wanadoo have kindly given us our internet back
-
I'm back and Wanadoo have very kindly allowed us to have some internet again.
Thanks folks for updating when I was offline and out and for the crossposting etc
We got to Calne, heard there'd been a sighting on the A4 so drove out that way, stopping to give some posters out, to ask people if they'd seen her etc. Met up with Tillie's foster dad and agreed we'd check a couple of little housing estates. There we got a few very recent confirmed sightings and one guy was certain she was headed determinedly towards "home" so phoned her foster dad - he got home and found her in the garden. Phew!!!
So fantastic to walk into their house and see her on the sofa! She's a lovely little dog and after a while accepted some of the smoked salmon I had taken along should we need to try to entice her.
I am amazed she made it into Calne and back safely and found her foster home. Dogs are so very clever. She wasn't at all muddy so definitely seems to have travelled by road both ways which is rather scary.
Am just having a little cry of relief Lots of relieved people in Wiltshire today!
-
Ok, but I meant was anyone co-ordinating searching etc?
Not yet. I didn't think anyone else was available to search today so am just planning to head over shortly myself. If anyone else is around, please PM asap.
And is there information on specifically where Tilly went missing, was last sighted?
All we have about last sighting is the landfill site mentioned earlier in the thread, hopefully we'll have more info later.
Maybe if people are around tomorrow/Sat then a bigger group can meet up, (was kinda hoping for good news before then). Sorry haven't organised a search for a lost dog before, which is why it may look as though I'm unorganised.

:elefant: Just wanted to wish my wonderful boy a Happy 10th Gotcha Day :elefant:
Can't believe it's ten years since you were doing the wall of death around that room - and I still chose to bring you home I think I was possibly the only one that wanted to at the time but we all love you very, very much
You are one in a million, a Max in a million, and I adore you more than I can say.
Today isn't going to be happening quite as I had planned but I shall make it up to you as soon as I can. You will get the smoked salmon on scrambled egg that you requested, just slightly later on today
In the meantime a few <cough> of my favourite photos until I manage to take some new ones ...

Hoping for good news for Tillie today.
-
The foster home is out postering this morning and we're going to head over to help look if there's no good news before then. If anyone else wants to help with postering/searching in the local-ish area, please do.

Have emailed the poster to you Wendy
If you are registered with doglost and logged in, the poster link is just above the dog's details box, on the left side of the screen, right above where it says "Dog Information", "Dog ID" etc.
-
Wendy I think you have to be registered and logged into doglost in order to see the poster now.
I've put one into a Word doc, can email that to you if you remind me of your email address

Thanks Snow

That's cool Sam! I hope Sirius hadn't been on the booze the night before, I imagine the ride might have made him feel a little queasy!
-
That's very nice of them Wendy, tis good when people show appreciation
Wendy, could you keep a look out for Tillie, an OC foster dog who's gone missing from Compton Basset, Calne - doglost link
-
I've just seen this - I've sent a pic and copy of the Dog Lost info to my boss with a request that he passes it on to the church wardens and all our contacts in the Cherhill, Lower Compton & Compton Bassett area.
Theres an awful lot of farmland around there, plus if she crossess the main road she can go up onto the downs and go for miles.
Thats a thought .... I'll email the National Trust Warden and let him have the info too just in case.
Thank you Tracy :flowers:
Yep Ali is (have PMd and emailed through the forum) - Tracy, do you know if dogs from the Calne area would go to Swindon? I'm not very familiar with the area.
-
Phebe, the foster home contacted the dog warden
I'll let Bath Cats & Dogs Home know, although they're 40-50 minutes away, just in case.

I am out of the loop in workplace situations really but I know that a lot of whether you are happy or not is to do with who you are working with
Thank you
and I agree!

The info in the pink box was showing when I posted, but I had to change one of the fields, which hadn't saved, so it has gone funny now Hopefully the pink box info will be back soon
Edit, should be ok now I think. Sorry, have (thankfully) never had to put a dog on doglost before.

Candle lit for Sweetie on what would have been her gotcha day and one lit for an old and very wonderful friend
-
Morning.
Good luck to those thinking of a job change I have spent far too long in the past working for people that made me miserable, tis not fun
It would have been Sweetie's gotcha day today so I am feeling sad and missing her Am going out for a walk and then will focus on some positive things. Tomorrow is Max's 10th gotcha day so that's something to look forward to

RMF : I have recently discovered that Timmy is scared of flies If there is one in the bedroom, he will do what he does when he hears thunder - he comes over and snuggles right in with a scared look on his face. Bless him, he is a bit "thpeshul"
Sno is terrified of flies. He reacts just as he does to fireworks, thunder etc. It's horrid and in the warmer months we have to be really careful to make sure a fly hasn't snuck into the house if we're going out without him Poor Timmy

Very sorry to hear about the dog, it seems dog theft isn't always taken as seriously as other crimes.
I would suggest contacting doglost for advice This will be something they have unfortunately encountered before.
-
I've too just realised that I've been posting in RMF rather than on here, but the two of you are most definitely in my thoughts :GroupHug:

Have updated the title to show that Pixi is home
Cher's posted a new thread here so I will close this one.
So pleased to read the good news - and well done to Lorraine for getting out to help search :flowers:
-
That is fantastic news to sign-on to! So pleased
Well done that man for finding her and looking after her and getting her back to you

Oh dear, silly Carrie!
Spud could be doing a lot worse than ignoring him, couldn't he? (I mean "a dog" could, not Spud in particular, you know what I mean!). Hopefully he will decide a new boy around the place will be fun
Which Waterproof Hat?

I'd have said first or third but that's only because they're both blue, so that's possibly not much help
I've been thinking about this sort of hat but they seem so "grown up"!
