  1. I thought I would recommend the 'Hands on Healing for Pets' by Margrit Coates book for those that are interested in learning about giving healing for their own pets.

There are also a number of places that people can request distant healing (also the Reiki thread on here of course). There's the:

Distant Healing Network - you can request healing for people or animals and a number of volunteer healers are allocated to your "case". There is no charge for this service.

I've also recently heard of a healing centre in the UK - The Sanctuary. If you're close enough you can visit for hands-on-healing, otherwise you can request distant healing. The distant healing is given free of charge though you are given the opportunity to make a small donation to help with their work if you wish.

There's also the Self-Realisation and Meditation Centre in Somerset in the UK. This is where I first ventured into healing, without knowing what to expect, and attended their short animal healing weekend. It was wonderful and the place is just perfect, one of the nicest places I have ever visited. I later went on to become involved with Reiki (not through the centre).

I thought these references might be handy for forum members.

NB/Disclaimer - this information is intended as a complementary therapy and doesn't not replace vet consultation/advice/treatment :)

  2. I generally think H&B stuff is great, but I did try one of mine on some MSM from H&B a few years ago and I saw her stiffness deteriorate too. I don't think it was coincidence because once I realised I went back to what she'd had previously and she got better again.

  3. I was going to suggest aloe vera but was beaten to it by several people - I would think H&B sell it online but if not, I can get Rob to get a tube when he's next in town and post it to you.

I keep meaning to look for an aloe vera plant but never remember to look for one - and I'm not really sure if a garden centre would sell them?

  4. i have to say, and rykat will confirm this, I am one of the worlds bigest sceptics with regards to anything "spiritual" etc.

    BUT

recently anya (rykats fav bunny) was ill with e-cuni. This is very serious. although shes not out of the woods yet she has made a huge improvement. I have no doubt tat this is at least in part to the help provided by Ange and the reiki she helped set up for anya.

I am stil secptical .... but thanks

Really pleased to hear that Anya has improved  . Reiki is a wonderful thing. I know Rykat posted on the Refuge for Reiki/good thoughts to be sent and lots of people were thinking of Anya :)

I must admit that Rob, although open-minded to a lot of things, was rather sceptical of Reiki when I first started doing it. He changed his mind very quickly when he had actually received Reiki though ... :)

If someone had told me about Reiki say 12 years ago, I'd have probably just laughed at them! It wasn't until I went to an animal healing weekend without having a clue what to expect, that my life changed - and I'm very glad it did :)

  5. Yeah, it was the bit by the pond that I was concerned about too - none of mine tried to get over it but I wouldn't have gone out and left them in the garden. My father-in-law bent a bit of metal around to fix over the latch on the gate as it did open once by itself while we were there. We went in September though so that could have been changed by the time you went.

I'm really not trying to put anyone off, we had a fab time and as I said earlier, would highly recommend the place.

Our little oldie did fall in the pond within about half an hour of us arriving - one of them had to, didn't they!

  6. Kazz, I'm not sure about dogs in the swimming pool - you'd need to speak to Carol or Trevor about that. You can drive to the sea in 10-15 minutes though if that helps.

Regarding the garden, I didn't feel the garden with the house we stayed in was secure enough to leave the dogs in unattended. It was fine for a few minutes while we were in the house etc., but I wouldn't have gone out and left them with access to the garden. There's another house there, Swallow something or other, I didn't see all of it. A number of people from G/Gap have been there - with greys and lurchers - you could check with them too. I do worry a lot

I did absolutely love it there and would certainly recommend it. Carol and Trevor are lovely and made us feel VERY welcome - and it was a great place to go with dogs.
