  1. Have answered elsewhere, but it sounds very much like what Max had last year on holiday, after he'd been in the sea for the first time. He's also a very waggy dog but his tail just lost its wag :( . I had heard of the condition before and left it for a day - with him looking very confused! - and his wag came back the next day.

Of course it might be something different with Ronnie, but I wondered if he had been in water recently?

  2. Levi has been used as dog theft actions dog of the month,

also i have re emailed a rescue centre that has a dog called buster up for adoption which when i first saw a few weeks ago i and some people who know levi think it looks like him they said they would check it out but havent heard so sent another request, fingers crossed.

i am missing him so very very much :mecry:

Could you phone the rescue or have someone phone them for you? Sometimes emails get lost or not checked regularly. Really hope you have some good news soon :flowers:

  3. I think if the vet said you should take her back if it changed/bled, then you should take her back to them. Hopefully it won't be anything sinister but at least it will give you peace of mind.

:GroupHug: for the beautiful Cassie

  4. The vet reckons that the only side effect of rimadyl is the squits

Has the vet actually read the leaflet that comes with the drugs? Clearly there are other side effects, it baffles me that "ordinary" owners know about this and yet some vets don't. Surely they shouldn't prescribe things without knowing what *might* happen. I know many animals take this seemingly without problems, but that's really not the point.

As to catching a urine sample, I've seen a frying pan recommended - held underneath while they're weeing - but you may want to use a pan you're not going to want to cook with again!

  5. I'd be very relunctant to use Rimadyl too, unless it was a very old dog or a dog where there was really never any other choice. I would give your vet a call first thing tomorrow.

Unfortunately *some* vets do seem happy to prescribe it very easily.

  6. I was just looking at the photo on the Dogslost listing - it looks quite "stretched" in comparison to the one of Levi that allie has posted on this thread. I thought Levi looked more mastiff like in the dogslost photo, longer legs etc., until I saw the real staffie looking one on here. Is it just me thinking that?

  7. Fee, I thought these would generally be done at home. It would cost a fortune to visit the vets every day for an appointment wouldn't it? Can you go along with her to the vet to be shown how to do it one day?
