  1. Not been on much lately, as we've been busy packing. Three weeks and counting Did venture out for the first time in a long while last night. The "locals" held a Medieval Banquet, most of us were in fancy dress and the food was absolutely to die for. Should be going to an Arts and Craft Fair tomorrow, if the weather holds out. Hopefully won't be so long before we get on again
  2. Arts & Crafts stuff: Cardmaking Jewellery Modern Art Glass Painting Cross Stitch Slate Painting Photography You name it, we do it
  3. Well, we're absolutely shattered. We've started sorting through our treasures, in preparation for the imminent move (well not that imminent - 6 weeks). Thought it best to get a head start, as movings stressful enough, without a last minute rush at the end, to get packed. Taking a day off tomorrow, to join in the local festivities - regatta and watersports day Should be fun, home made raft race, greasy pole, etc Just off for a well deserved soak in the tub and an extremely early night
  4. Afternoon all ... just been on a mammoth food buying exercise for the hairies, furries and scalies The weather is absolutly fantastic and the dogs are now enjoying a game of chase in the garden. The cats are all wandering around the house, as if they haven't got a care in the world - with the exception of one, who seems intent on trying to help me type Just about to settle down for the afternoon, for some well deserved R & R. We're off to visit our future smallholding again tomorrow, may take a picnic and sit and drool Can't wait to move
  5. Since living in Dumfries and Galloway, we've been looking for our "ideal" property. After 11 long months of watching and waiting and 2 days of hard negotiations, we're pleased to say we've managed to acquire, a beautiful rural 5 acre smallholding. It's only 3 miles from where we currently live, so we'll retain the benefits of local amenities and all the friends made, since living in the village. If all goes well, we've been told we could be moving in, in as soon as 6 weeks - needless to say we've got everything crossed
