Lovely Home Wanted For Beautiful, Gentle Doberman Cross Bitch

Bella is beautiful. She is a gorgeous 4-5 yr old bitch. We have had her from a puppy and love her dearly. However, she was primarily my husbands dog and he is not with us any more. I work full time, and have 3 kids to care for. Bella is now at home 8-10 hours a day which is terrible. She behaves brilliantly on it but i know its not fair on her. On my own I don’t have time to walk her properly any more or care for her the way she deserves. I don’t have the money either for routine vets bills and could do nothing if she had an accident. The kids and I have talked long and hard and know there must be a family out there somewhere which wants a well behaved lovely natured pet.

She is fantastic with kids ( a bit scared of babies, but so gentle with toddlers – they can do anything to her and she just looks up as if “pleeeeease get them off me!!) and we have a cat she is fond of (not too good with cats out on a walk tho), but she never hurts or chases our cat...she knows he is family!! She loves long walks and playing in the garden. Happy to lounge in the sun too, and has a favourite spot in the porch which is a sun trap. Hates water! Hates rivers and baths! But will have a bath when necessary. For some bizarre reason she is scared of squirrels!!!

She is very obedient although pulls a bit on the lead. She always comes when called and will sit/down/paw/leave/go away when told. She always waits until told its ok before devouring dinner!

She eats anything put before her but loves a nice juicy lamb bone. She will do ANYTHING for cheese!

We really want a good home for her. She has been a really special part of our lives and if I didn’t have to work, if I had the time and money to devote to her, we would keep her. If you cant help us, then we will probably have to hand her into the blue cross or rspca. Dont want to do that as kids are so upset by this and want to know about the family she goes to. We would be really happy to help dog sit during school holidays when we are all off if that helped a prospective owner who was fairly local to save kennel fees. Please help us to help bella.

Many thanks

Jo

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

It would help if you could state which area you are in, if Bella is up to date with her vaccinations/flea treatment/worming etc and also if she's been neutered and how she is with other dogs flowers.gif

SHe is wormed and flea-ed, not sure about vaccinations as that was my OH dept and he left no records. She is great with other dogs if introduced properly. We have several doggie friends she hangs out with quite happily but she doesnt like strange dogs bounding up to the kids when we are out walking - just barks tho!

We are in Oxfordshire.

Hoping someone will see her and fall in love wiht her!
