Happy birthday to Honey and Cooper. Jazz, I hope scan went OK.

Happy birthday to both of them xx

It went on to a new page and I can't see whose birthday it is? I can't load previous pages.

Finley and I are shattered, we went to Blidworth Woods just north of Nottingham, to hand over Wispa's big travel crate to someone who organises rescue transport runs. Then we went for a long walk in the woods, longer than we intended as I got a bit lost. No phone signal in there to get map on phone. We have gone to bed early, me with a book and Fin with one of Wispa's very tough chew toys.

Temperature dropped late afternoon, some light showers, so we managed a walk. Hi @ eve x

Doing our best to stay cool today and tomorrow. Laundry out early, bird water bowls filled, hopefully won't need to leave the house until Monday. I did go to the reserve yesterday as there was a get-together and bbq for all reserve volunteers and employees, so I caught up with various friends and enjoyed a nice feast of salad and some home made bread.

Blackmagic it is indeed a sad world. A team near here is delivering goods to Ukraine also. Tour of Britain bike race went through here yesterday, I watched them whizzing through a double roundabout at end of our road. Checkpoint in our village, on main shopping street.

Managed to stay reasonably cool today but we have 5 scorching days ahead. Tour of Britain cycle race coming through our village tomorrow. They will be sweltering. I'm not going to join the crush on the pavement but will head to the church which is on a hill, should get something of a view from there.

Good morning, all ok here, might wander up to the classic car show on village playing field before it gets too hot. I had put the electric fans away, thought they wouldn't be needed again this year. Alpine strawberries have started to flower and fruit again.

We are! Just came back from a good walk in Langold country park which is only 5 miles away. Lots of squirrels.

-

Hope you have a better day tomorrow xx

Sounds like a typical young lab boy. After 2 weeks of excellent behaviour, Fin is being a little stinker this evening. I swear he is affected by the moon.

Turns out that the rowing team were towed back to Anglesey by RNLI. One of the team was washed overboard and hauled back by the others, at which point they requested help. She is being released from hospital today. They have continued to Belfast by ferry.
-
I am so sorry to hear that, enjoy your pottering and some quality time x Being something of an old crock myself. I am not very active on dog searches but keep an eye on the local ones, and as Fin likes a walk of about an hour everyday we usually take it either on the reserve, or somewhere there is a dog on the run.

Good morning all. Blowing a gale here in N Notts. My friend who is in a team rowing across the Irish Sea for charity will be disappointed. They have had to turn back to Anglesey after getting a third of the way to IOM. I have been tracking their progress on a map. Making no headway due to storm. They must be shattered.

Out in the fields this afternoon, still searching for missing greyhound. Lots of woodpigeons, and her mum thinks she could certainly catch them. Fin was disgusted with me for keeping him on lead, he would certainly have scoffed one.

We have mostly been out walking the fields round a nearby village in hope of seeing a missing greyhound. Huge area of tall crops. The wheat is now being cut, but the maize fields will be tall for a while yet.
