Yes, good to be back on wheels. Explored a new footpath, chosen for being sheltered by hedges but without overhanging trees. No woodland walks until this latest storm blows over.

What a lovely gang! Car now back on road with new part, drives really well now. So cold here, we are in my bedroom at back which is quite small so easy to heat with halogen heater. Rest of the house is baltic.

Finley thinks hedgehogs have the right idea. Last night he curled up into a ball and slept for 13 hours. We had a good walk in fields next to the village this afternoon, and he is back to bed with warmth from the halogen heater. I may not get my car sorted before the holiday season but can manage until January.

No Jazz, none available at present but I and others are searching. So is mechanic but he has less time to search as working flat out on, or more often under, various cars. Trevor is taking Fin and me out this afternoon to a local reserve, and tomorrow another friend will be taking us to the volunteer wardens' Christmas bbq at the main reserve.

Car is off the road for the foreseeable future so I am going to put a SORN on it. Clutch master cylinder is totally kaput, and brake cylinder keeps getting airlocks. Very long wait for the spare parts, 20 yr old Honda with an excellent engine so worth saving if it can be done. It's a pain.

Wind is about 60 mph round here, rain not too bad, varies between light and none at all. Finley went up the garden to have a mooch around, as being so low he is out of the wind. Then he was ratting and hid when I called for him, so I had about 10 mins of worry before he appeared, face and paws filthy. I certainly would not like to be driving in this wind, stuff is flying about but not nearly as bad as in Wales.

I recommend Dermacton cream. I used it on Polly puli wiyth good results. Stops itching and helps coat grow back.

Not the right weather for tinies to be out. This one may have found some straw on one of the horse fields. He seems none the worse.

Dog warden and I teamed up to search for a chorkie pup a year old who escaped from his home in my village yesterday and went on an adventure. Success, and very happy owners. Looks like I've made some new friends.

Minor fault in boiler ignition, all working now. Toasty warm, Finley very happy as he got cuddles from engineer.

Central heating niot working, boiler doesn't ignite. Thankfully engineer is coming tomorrow afternoon. Meanwhile, thank goodness for halogen heaters.

Doing our best to keep warm, but kind of ok. Fin thinks we should keep warm by playing indoor football. Had a good walk this afternoon in chilly sunshine.

Ok apart from car being out of action with clutch problem, to be sorted next week. So have been doing local walks with Fin. And nursing a scalded index finger from steam, silly me. Aloe vera gel is cooling it off.

Bert is here also and has washed away most of the snow, turning all to mud. Staying home for the weekend.

Hope all goes well. Brown dogs are less visible than black or grey dogs, especially at this time of year. I can usually hear mine but not if he is after a rodent as he stays silent then.

Sorry to hear that, hoping tomorrow is better. We had a good afternoon doing warden stuff, checking the fence round the beaver enclosure. Finley enjoyed helping and found a hole in the fence. I've been busy getting ready for the cold spell next week, got supplies in etc. Getting Fin out as much as possible while I can, as if it gets icy underfoot we will stay at home.
