Rose ~ Pretty Little Girl - 3Yo Black Greyhound

Recommended Posts

ROSE

**UPDATED: JUNE 2012**

Little Rose is a 3 year old greyhound girl who has never raced. She is a lovely black girl with a white heart on her chest. Rose’s coat is a bit dull and moth-eaten right now, but we hope that will improve with some good food and TLC.

~ Personality ~

Rose is a new girl to our rescue and we are still getting to know her. So far she has been just super with everyone and hasn’t put a toe wrong. She loves getting attention and lives for her walks. We will update with more on this lady once we get to know her more.

~ In the Home ~

Dear Rose has not been in a home environment before, so new owners will need to be a bit patient during the first couple of weeks and allow her time to settle in and learn the home rules. It generally takes 10-14 days for new greyhounds to start to settle down in a home, and really all they need is a bit of time and patience. We hope to get Rose into a foster home in the near future, and we will update with more info on her then, assuming she hasn’t already been snapped up of course!

~ Other Animals ~

Rose is very good with other dogs, regardless of size. She is quite calm and very well mannered, and is a good, steady dog when around other canines. She has not yet been cat tested, but this will be carried out soon as she may be cat friendly.

~ Out and About ~

Like most greyhounds, Rose likes her snoozes and will not need a huge amount of exercise. She will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.

~ Greyhounds as Pets ~

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

~ Where Am I? ~

Rose is currently being kennelled in Norfolk, UK. She can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you will be required to travel to us in Norfolk to meet her.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~

Rose is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. This girl would greatly benefit from being in a foster home, and Kerry Greyhounds UK is always in desperate need of new fosterers. It is such a rewarding experience, and costs are covered by the rescue.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering Rose, please visit either our website’s Adoption Page or Fostering Page for information and instructions on our homing & fostering procedures. If you have any further questions or problems, please feel free to email me (Tam) on [email protected]. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs. Thanks!

~~ KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK ~~

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a small voluntary organisation that is based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spaced over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK.

Our Website: Kerry Greyhounds UK

If interested in one of our hounds, please visit our website’s Adoption Page for information and instructions on our homing procedures. Once you have filled in and returned the application form, we will then contact you via phone or email to discuss adopting one of our hounds in more detail.

If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to contact us. I (Tam) can be contacted through the following email:
