TOTO AND TINY

Toto and Tiny are two 2 year old greyhounds that are litter brother and sister. They are both fawn brindle hounds with beautiful markings and intelligent eyes.

These two lovely dogs are young, playful and full of fun. They have never raced and have been handled nicely by people in the past, making them very affectionate, friendly hounds who love to be loved by people. They are active and inquisitive greyhounds who greatly enjoy being out and about. They have spent their whole lives together so far and we don't have the heart to separate them now. Often taking on two hounds at once can be easier than just one, as they can keep each other company when left alone and can help each other settle in to the new home environment. They are sure to make a fantastic, fun loving pair that will keep their new adopters well entertained!

Toto and Tiny have not yet been in a home environment, having spent their whole lives in kennels. New owners will need to be a bit patient and understanding at the start while they get their bearings in the new home environment, but being a pair, they will also provide reassurance and support for each other in the often stressful first weeks of acclimatisation.

Toto and Tiny are both neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and de-flea'd and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

**UPDATE: JUNE 2010**

Toto and Tiny have travelled across to Norfolk, UK where they are currently in a foster home with cats to see if they are cat trainable.

These two lovely hounds make a beautiful pair and get on really well together. They are mannerly dogs who walk nicely on the lead and have a friendly, playful demeanour.

Like most greyhounds, Toto and Tiny will not need a huge amount of exercise. They will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch their legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs who are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

**UPDATE: JULY 2010**

Toto and Tiny have been in a foster home with a cat for the last few weeks and are doing very well. They are two bouncy, happy hounds who are full of fun and games. Unfortunately the cat has decided to go into hiding since the arrival of two big dogs, so they are yet to be properly tested with her! They have loads of potential and would do very well in a relatively active family with perhaps other dogs or children to play with and keep them occupied.

Toto and Tiny have been very good in their foster home. They are now fully housetrained and ok to be left with each other for company. They are quiet through the night, though Toto likes to tell everyone else when its time to get up in the mornings!

Out and about, Toto and Tiny are a joy to be around. They are very curious and want to explore everything. They love meeting other dogs and have been very good with every one they have met, large and small. They love meeting new people too, though Tiny does like to jump up if she gets excited. This is being worked on with her fosterer and she is learning that not everyone appreciates a big greyhound bear hug!

Toto and Tiny’s fosterer says they are “a pleasure to look after – friendly, affectionate and easy to walk. On the whole – a lovely easygoing pair of dogs for some lucky person!”

**UPDATE: OCTOBER 2010**

Toto and Tiny continue to do well in their foster home, though they may end up not being 100% cat trustable. This is being worked on in their foster home, but we fell that right now they are not completely suitable to live in a home with cats.

Apart from that, however, they are a brilliant doggie duo and get on very well together. They are fantastic in the house and love their daily walks. Toto and Tiny would settle very well in to most home situations and are sure to give back what they get in spades.

They recently went to our KGC annual greyhound walk in Norfolk and really enjoyed their day out. They made lots of doggie friends and loved getting so much attention from the crowds of people.
