  1. One difference is that although horse riding is a great hobby, it is a hobby. It's also one that involves travelling an awful lot higher up than being on a bicycle.

It's also a hobby that involves using many roads.

    Spot on about the height!

Having come off both, i can say id rather fall from the low gravity usually side on action from a bicycle, as opposed to getting thrown head first at a great height from a bucking/rearing horse

Wouldnt do either without a hat though

  2. That would probably be my next question

Personally however, as I could think of fair criticisms of both I'd probably as a "gut reaction" be inclined to say neither - but some sort of Government or possibly Councils working to a national standard.

I know, question 3 would probably be who's going to pay for that then - though there is arguably no shortage of money going into the dog industry already

Then I would check out the CAWC Ian, thats near enough what's being worked on at the moment.

  3. Just waiting for a photo from Martin and then I can submit the application.

I must have missed that somehow.

Sorry about that, will sort ASAP.

Who do i send it to and what sort of photo?

    cheers

  5. I have been waiting for this to be put up on the internet for some time, I was sent it in confidence which is why I didn't put it up here. This is written by the man who's book the Alpha theory came from. He has since tried to alter the book but the publishes refuse to let him.

    It is very interesting reading

I thought the phrase, as regards dogs, tracked back to The Monks of New Skate, in the 1970's?

Prior to that, the Schenkel captive wolf study in 1947 used the phrase?

And prior to that, Colonel Konrad Most created the dominance model during the Victorian era.

  7. this post is kind of odd, really

nike have have been unethically unsound for years, sweatshops n'all.

im surprised that this latest is a suprise?

or is it because us animals lovers don't give such thought to these things until animals are dragged into it?

    just a thought.

  8. There does seem to be a pattern here, the attacks you've mentioned have all been at flash points,I'd guess (and it is a complete guess) that either the going through a door ( car door included) or just the heightened excitement of doing something (or in the case of the stable attack, the introduction of other dogs) is the cause, my dog Daisy is very like this too, and I have to be very particular how she interacts with my friends 3 dogs, how she enters their house, and how they enter hers, in Daisy's case I believe it's down to her not being confident, unfortunately she resolves her internal conflict with aggression. Obviously I haven't a clue if this is the reason behind Jacks attacks, but it's something to consider, I've found the book Control Unleashed by Leslie McDevitt to be very helpful in teaching Daisy some self control, I've also found that having a set pattern of events that she can rely on happening at moments of conflict has helped too.

Hope this makes some sense, it's late, I'm tired and I've had a straight malt whisky

Im thinking the same............its aroual issues.

    What breeds are they.

i think separation and calming non exciting non aorusing activity when in eahc others company are in order.

Quite often doorways are flashpoints for these incidents

Tllingly, you say Jack hasnt left any maeks on the other one.

I would hazard the other ones coat wasnt relevant there, because if Jack meant to injure, im sure he would/could?

Maybe Jack is 'pushing him away'........maybe its all about distance creation?

What is there general daily exercise routine?

    what diet?

  9. I dont object to his release

It's only right and proper that individuals that have been victims of miscarriages of justice are released, whatever the reason.

All the evidence going way back to the time of the bombing and all the years since suggests that Iran and the PFLP-GC (Ahmed Jibral) were responsible, not the Libyans.

And corresponding evidence, also going back many years, suggests the evidence and lines of inquiry against Iran were ignored in favour of artificially creating 'evidence' against Libya.

I remember all this first time around when i was at school - its all over the news again now.

Even many of the British relatives acknowledge all of this.

There is even some evidence to point at 'possible' CIA collusion...therefore evidence against American involvement is way more stronger than Libyan involvement.
