  1. I know, me too. I keep saying I am not going to watch any more and then I do. It's my guilty pleasure! I hate that they split Callie and Arizona up but I enjoyed Arizona's episodes with Geena Davis as Dr Herman. I don't recognise Callie this season. Despite myself I find I quite like Maggie. I do wish they would give Bailey a bit more of her pzzazz back, she's somewhat of a diluted character these days. It will be interesting to see where they take Meredith - there are loads of possibilities. I wish they would get rid of Owen, I hate him although I loved the actor that plays him when he was in the series Rome several years ago. They are light on male characters now so I expect we will see an infusion of new doc's.

where's Christina when Meredith needs her?. Sh'd better get her arse in gear !

  2. I am booking a one way ticket on Thursday to Katmandu , I have no idea how long we will be there because as you say no one really knows the sheer scale yet

As always Sam you have my greatest admiration and best wishes for your health and safety in Nepal. Take care of yourself.

  3. Sorry to hear about your Mum Owl. Your not at the after funeral reception to entertain people and I am sure they will respect your feelings and forgive you if you slip away,if only to a quiet corner with a drink to toast a wonderful lady and the comfort of your memories x

  4. I saw the news this morning and was optimistically excited for you Sam. Hope things stay calm and the new guy is better.

It is still quite windy here Yantan.

Feel like I have been run over by a tractor. I don't know why I get so tired being at home in this flat...very odd. However, I found some vouchers from my birthday last year so have treated us o a new kitchen bin! Our last one has lasted nearly 12 years so a change will be nice!!

Do you have a gas boiler? Sorry to be alarmist but because you said you feel that way in the flat,I'm thinking carbon monoxide. Worth checking. (I lost my DIL to this insidious gas).

  5. Medication is a bugger...for peeps AND poopies. I have some degree of success with peanut bitter and/or cream cheese triangles £1 for Tesco's own, cheaper than Dairylea an easier to handle) I need a whole one for Ben the pills are so huge. Unfortunately he has perfected the art of spitting pills out of food so cheese and PB is becoming part of his diet. Hmmm. Could it be he spits 'cos he knows the remedy?

Hope peeps and poopies on medication here are all healthy and happy in time for Crimble.

  6. Owl. ((())). Sam, at least Bruno has you.

After ten days of turmeric AND a Bioflow collar I can report a big improvement in Ben's walking and general well being. He wanted to play 'shove' the other day! You know, bums and heads, which can be a bit hurty with a Newfie. He is still stiff in his back legs when getting up but is now more willing to take short walks so hopefully his muscles will improve with exercise.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR To EVERYONE. There were suitable emoticons but they are not appearing!!!

  7. Hi Mommy Bear. Has Ben got a magnetic collar? Even though numerous people have explained how they can't possibly work, they have done wonders for 3 dogs and one cat so far.

Thanks Owl. That had not occurred to me even though I remember there being a lot about it in the press and on line. Off to ihave a look.

  8. Mommy bear, we used tumeric as an anti inflamatory with diesel, did her no harm. I think there is a paste thing that you are supposed to mix up and use freshly ground black pepper with it too, a friend of mine uses it... i just used the plain tumeric with diesel as i didn't know about adding stuff

As I understand it because it is not water soluble the turmeric has to be mixed with a cold press oil (olive, coconut, flax) and the pepper assists absorption. Turmeric only stays in the system for about eight hours so supposed to be taken 2/3 times a day in small amounts, starting at 1/4 teaspoon and gradually increasing. I have made up the paste for Ben, more in desperation than hope. He is on Previcox and Gabapentin but still limps with an arthritic shoulder and now he is exhibiting weakness in his back legs. I am fearing the worst and I think a vet visit about his back legs is needed. Apparently The main benefit of turmeric is that it is an anti inflammatory.

  9. Loobie, so sorry to hear of your troubles. No advice other than to follow up previously recommended avenues for help and to say thinking of you and hoping things improve quickly.

Bad news Ladies. James and Artem are leaving Strictlly ! Boo Hooooo. No point in watching :(

  10. Just caught up on 25 pages of February. (Really must try and keep up). Liking the new email reminder...got my first one today. February was a busy month for lots of people in all sorts of ways. Much giggling and sniffling here at your antics. (((((Hugs))))).

Suzeanna, I was diagnosed with Breast cancer17 years ago at 56 and elected to have a single mastectomy, no reconstruction. I required no follow-up treatment and am still here! Lots of luck with whatever you decide. I know treatments etc have changed since then but the mental trauma is a big factor. Message me if I can help.

This is a 24 fixated house too, thanks to my DIL. About to jump into series two....I my be gone some time, again!

Ben is limping a bit so supplementing his existing medication with Tramadol. For some reason he is refusing to take them, despite taking his other pills as normal. They must have a smell he doesn't like. Moderate success with porridge and/or jam. Now going to try the Dogstar way......Laughing Cow Cheese, although I have mistakenly bought the blue cheese flavoured one! Watch this space

  11. Just trying to catch up! Wow! Big hugs for all the hurty peoples and the lots of you who are worried about your special friends Diagnosing and treating tummy stuff is so difficult ult. Ben had a stomach ulcer a few weeks ago. He wasn't off his food but his stools were showing a GI bleed. Took him off previcox, substituted tramadol for his joint problems and regular antacids. Worked a treat and he's back on the previcox. He's due a new prescription soon (I buy the previcox on line) so I guess a blood test or two will be in order.

Owl, you must be very excited, I know I would be. DB, with help from my son, just floored our summer house, and I'm quite excited.

Winter seems to be bringing out a crop of medical problems for Fugees. Hope you all feel lots better really soon and get positive results for tests , scans and stuff.

I guess I'd better get up (OF COURSE I'm still in bed, it's bliddy cold out there) I'm expecting sign-for post! Anyway, Ben is lying by the bed snoring his head off so sleep isn't really an option :)

  12. There goes my leisurely cup,of tea and Jack Reacher in Bed. Just had an email that DPD are delivering in about half an hour. Still, glad I know or Nick (such detail they give you) would have caught me in my jammys,

Ref Jack Reacher ..... In the books he is 6'5" and 250lbs and who do they give the part to? Tom Cruise, midget extraordinaire!!!! Hereafter to be known as "Tom on a Box".
