  1. I've just found this info:

Special Code/ Service provider lock code

This code is required to allow a phone “locked†to a particular network's SIM cards to be used with a SIM card from another network. For example, a Nokia handset sold on an Orange pay monthly contract may be locked to the Orange network. This means the handset will only accept Orange SIM cards. The unlock code varies from individual handset to handset, and you can only get it from your service provider. Expect to be charged for this code, plus any line rental up to the end of the initial contract period.

Has anyone done this successfully

I found that the phone shop/market stall type phone unlocking places were unable to unlock my phone. It was a Nokia 6630 on Orange, so I contacted them and they emailed me the code to use to unlock it at a cost of £25.

It was very simple to do.

    Good luck with yours :flowers:

  2. I had a bit of a bad lesson today - well made a dangerous mistake that knocked my confidence.

I was on a dual carriageway and moved into the right hand lane to give a car that was joining room to join but then I moved back over a bit too soon. I know from when I overtake that I should wait until I can see what I have overtaken in my mirror before moving back over but I didn't apply that to this situation for some reason

  3. are you using a .mac address ? they do seem to get a lot of spam ( mine does )

No when I first got my Mac I signed up to .mac and never got junk. I let the membership lapse as when it came to renewal I didn't want to part with the £69 (ish) fee. We had just changed to btinternet so I got an address with them and all was fine up until about a month ago until I started getting all this junk.

In desperation I went back to .mac on Christmas Eve only to discover that when I tried to change my address on eBay and Moonpig I was told that the address [email protected] was already in use by someone else! In fact, on the Moonpig site, by requesting a new password I was sent one and then managed to log into this other Hayley's account and found out her address and other personal details. It turns out that she is [email protected] - only a slight difference but one that those 2 sites didn't pick up the difference in.

I was disappointed that Mac had given two different people such a similar address so decided to cancel my subscription under their 30 day change your mind thing - have emailed twice now though and still no refund.

  4. Just recently I get about 10 emails a day and they are all related to increasing the size of men's parts.

They go a bit like this

    Happy Holidays!

I am with btinternet and I never used to get these emails - in the 'To' field is always someone elses name next to my email address.

I am using a Junk mail filter but it makes little difference.

Any suggestions? I really don't want to change my email address

  5. OH and I work in Welwyn Garden City which is next door to Welwyn but we live near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire.

We will be glad to collect it for you. I am off work now until 2nd Jan. OH's last day is tomorrow so would need details asap if you would like us to do it unless it can wait until the new year. :flowers:

  6. How have you been getting on Ange?

I did my third lesson on Thursday night - loads of roundabouts - big ones and mini ones

I need to be careful not to speed on the 30mph roads which I seem to do without realising it and to speed up a bit on the 60mph roads which I find hard as it feels like I am going far too fast - I haven't made it past 50mph yet

Collected the car yesterday and had a little drive round the village today :)

  7. Sounds like you are progressing well Ange :flowers:

Had my second lesson last night - got picked up from work as usual and instructor got out of the car - yes I was going to be driving out of the car park (on the first lesson he drove me to the start of the lesson).

He took me on a very varied route that included roundabouts, narrow high streets and a long, windy country lane where I got stick behind a bicycle

We finished in a car park and did a reverse bay park.

It was really good again although I need to remember not to stare at things in the car, i.e. the clock because when I do I go a bit off course.

My biggest incentive now is that we bought a brand new car on Saturday that we are collecting next Friday - it will be my car once I have passed :)

  8. I had my first lesson on Wednesday and it was really good :)

I did left turns and right turns on a fairly quiet housing estate.

I then did a turn in the road

Next week I am going to be driving on busier roads incorporating roundabouts.

One slight problem I had was at the end of the lesson - my right knee was killing me - I must be using muscles that I haven't before

I had my lesson after work and only then did it dawn on me that most of my lessons wil be in the dark which worried me a bit but I seemed to adjust okay.

  9. We were there too :)

Snoopy felt a bit out numbered with all the labs but had a great time telling them all off anyway

I think we have a few pictures

We got some Cheese and Garlic biscuits from Bumpy's Bakery, a fab Elephant Poo product from the Dogstar stall and some lovely chutney
