  1. My kitchen is going in on Monday week so there will be ebfore and after shots, the house has had extensive work over the last three months so I have loads of before and after shots. I am sure they will appear to show the hideous interior design of the place when I bought it The dogs don't stop running so pictures are impossible .

  3. for everyone who needs it I got back about half an hour ago I went to the "new parents evening " at my sons new college just outside Southampton. On the way my car overheated and a number of stops later made it there. I had to get recovery to look at my car. They will deliver it tomorrow and I have a courteousy car in the driveway. Diagnosis on my car is terminal the head gasket has gone, along with the exhaust and a number of other things. I have had a glass of two of red, and I will be ringing the bank tomorrow for a three week loan to cover buying another car - as we are moving in three weeks. What Deep joy life is
  4. for Emma for Kelly Our weekend was lovely, spent Saturday with a friend of mine, had a wonderful pub lunch and a walk by the canal in Hertfordshire - it was baking hot and nice and relaxing. Yesterday the three of us just chilled out, both kids were meant to be doing revision . For my birthday weekend next weekend I am being cooked dinner, and will have good wine and great company. RMF playing squash burns betwenn 700-1000 calories in an hour
  5. having survived the very wet and raining BIGGSD fun day yesterday with a moaning teenager and a very wet Jessie. I met loads of people from the board which was lovely - even though I was introduced as the big bad Admin I have life laundered my house over this last year, this morning I have life laudering my cyber life by deleting lots of accounts everywhere. Sadly one of the casualties in this laundering process has been my friend of 12 years down in the forest. She stupidly betrayed my trust a few months ago, so I have had to say goodbye . We have 38 days left until we move and the house is full of moving boxes
  6. Kazz I don't "do" cats either but she is gorgeous This morning I have had my hair chopped, and coloured it and now have no grey bits showing. I am also about to go and pick up some freecycled moving boxes

I have found some moving boxes from freecycle and I can have as many as I want. Life seems to be good at the moment, and only 45 days until we move

  12. My friend who went to live with her ice cream making boyfriend in Italy a few months ago, has sent me an email to say she is coming home for four days I can't wait to see her and go out for a drink or two
  13. for everyone who needs it and for anyone else I played 40 minutes of squash last night , and I have been to sign all the contracts today. Exchange is imminent as all contracts have been signed all round. I took the dogs out for a lovely long walk in the forest and they had a great time, swimming and running 300mph with not a soul around. I am for the first time in ages a bit achey after our two hour walk, still 40 minutes squash on sunday should cure it I am just discovering all the refunds which will come way once we move and it is great
  14. Tomorrow I am going to sign some contracts
  15. I an, it makes no difference whether they were a professional couple or not - what difference does it make ? I am a single mum of two kids and self employed and have been for twleve years - does that make me different to the "professional couple" who should have known better I think not. The parents could have been sleeping in the room next door and the same thing would have happened, and it could not have been prevented. I understand you don't have kids which is fair enough and you have your views, but to be with kids 24 x7 on holiday in a hotel room when they sleep, when would you eat, relax etc have some "me" time. I have been to these resorts and it is a common thing, kids go to sleep, parents go and have dinner quietly, and check on the kids at regular intervals The other abductions that I have mentioned were very widely publicised at the time on TV and newspapers, and they did involve all young kids under the age of 6 - I am sure a google search will bring them up. They all happened in the last 10 years or so. The press is quite obviously putting the blame on the parents as they have no-one else, and for legal reasons I am sure only tell half the story
  16. I think the point that is being missed here is that there was forced entry through the blinds. It is very possible that this little girl was being watched and whoever took her knew the parents were not there. If I remember rightly there have been children abducted in the UK whilst they have been in the bath in their own homes, with the parents downstairs, there have been children abducted from their own back garden whilst camping and the parents were in the house asleep, a child abducted on a two minute walk back home and the list goes on and on. Do you also feel that the parents lacked responsibility on all these tragic occasions ? Are they tarred with the same brush - I would hope not. If it would not have been that girl it would have been another at a later date, maybe another resort, whoever abducted her knew what he/she/they were doing You cannot be with your kids 24 x7, as a single mum of two, for the last 12 years I am very much aware of that as is Akitas It is very very sad that everyone is so judgemental on the parents and tarring them for something so tragic, I am also very sure they were not the only parents at that resort who had left the kids in the villa/hotel room that night and had gone to have a quiet dinner on their own for an hour.
  17. Graham has gone for his last official day at school today , he has taken camera and a newly washed shirt to be signed. When we move he will be applying for a provisional license - he has grown up so fast
  18. Tomorrow is my sons last day at his school. He is starting his GCSE's in a few weeks then we are moving shortly after. Tomorrow he is going in to get his yearbook and get his shirt signed as well - I am not sure if he is happy or sad about it
  19. I have just come back from 40 minutes squash It is so therapeutic knowing I can hit the shyte out of a little black ball and no-one gets hurt (well most of the time ). My squash partner did not know what hit her tonight, there was a fair amount of pent up aggression that had to come out since our last game on sunday. I now have a cold beer and am at peace with the world
  20. beautiful sunny day here I am off to Costco with my mum as we are in need of a alot of storage boxes for Beany Babies and things like that, lin preprartion for our move, lots of big black bags that should tied us over after we have moved and stuff like dog food, as the nearest Costco is in Reading. *fuffle* and *fumble* I am a good girl no idea what you are talking about

  22. This is just outside of Romsey, an area called Canada Common which extends as far as the eyes can see and further, you can walk for miles and miles and it just carries on We do have a moving date which will be revealed soon enough
  23. On Saturday Gemma and I, and the dogs went to the New Forest for the day. We stopped at what will be our local part of the forest, which is about 10 minutes drive away from where we will be living. There is about 300 sq miles of this literally on our doorstep and the coast is 30 minutes away - if not less. Dog, Mummy and teenager heaven This is Cosmo waiting for Gemma to throw a stick for him so he can have a swim This is Jessie making friends with the New Forest Ponies To make a great day even better Gemma also found an old rusty iron horseshoe in the ground which she hopes will bring us alot of luck and good fortune in our new life.
